Amizade e memória múltipla: Glosa, de Juan José Saer / Friendship and multiple memory: Glosa by Juan José SaerRaulino, Renata Cristina Pereira 01 December 2017 (has links)
In Glosa (1986), a novel by Argentine writer Juan José Saer (1937-2005), the privileged relationship between the characters is the friendship. GLOSA System with Uncertain Green and Red Signal PhasesTypaldos, Panagiotis, Koutsas, Petros, Papamichail, Ioannis, Papageorgiou, Markos 22 June 2023 (has links)
A discrete-time stochastic optimal control problem was recently proposed to address the GLOSA (Green Light Optimal Speed Advisory) problem in cases where the next signal switching time is decided in real-time and is therefore uncertain in advance. However, there was an assumption that the traffic signal is initially red and turns to green, which means that only half traffic light cycle was considered. In this work, the aforementioned problem is extended considering a full traffic light cycle, consisting of four phases: a certain green phase, during which the vehicle can freely pass; an uncertain green phase, in which there is a probability that the traffic light will extend its duration or turn to red at any time; a certain red phase during which the vehicle cannot pass; and an uncertain red phase, in which there is a probability that the red signal may be extended or turn to green at any time. It is demonstrated, based on preliminary results, that the proposed SDP (Stochastic Dynamic Programming) approach achieves better average performance, in terms of fuel consumption, compared to the IDM (Intelligent Driver Model), which emulates human-driving behavior.

Mikalojaus Daukšos Postilės marginalijos / Marginalia in Mikalojus Daukša‘s PostillaJankauskas, Benas 20 June 2012 (has links)
Marginalia are one of the most interesting elements of the book not only in Postilla by Mikalojus Daukša, but also in books worldwide. Currently, researches based on marginalija attract even more attention. Research of the final work contains theory of classification and development of similar researches. As this work is fresh in Lithuania, the goal of introducing marginalia should be considered too. Analyzed marginalia are divided into three main groups: glosses, rubrics and scholias. By special classification of marginalia of this book, groups are divided into subgroups. Analysis shows that marginalia in Postilla by M. Daukša help reader to understand the text easily. Other function of marginalia of this book is that the author can show the beauty and riches of his language. In the appendix of the work there are 120 most interesting examples of glosses, where the relation between text and marginalia is shown.

Previous issue date: 2015-01-07 / This study was developed in a private hospital, in Rio de Janeiro, in order to demonstrate the value of a digital medical library, as a scientific support tool for health care practices adopted by physicians, that resulted in technical glosses and loss of revenue for the institution. Through integrative review methodology, clinical literature related to technical glosses, occurred in the period from january to september 2014, were collected and analyzed from the perspective of the conceptual model presented by Cochrane (LEFEBVRE et al., 2011), which identifies the level of scientific evidence and establishes the degree of recommendation for clinical practice. During the content analysis, considering the techniques proposed by Bardin (1977), the scientific evidences, that gives value to the health care practices, were identified, as proposed by the conceptual model. In addition, the cost of the glosses were included in the analysis of the results, reinforcing the trend of the study to validate the conceptual model that recommends evidence-based medical practice to generate more effective results and better cost / benefit in health. Based on the findings, the theoretical and practical implications are discussed, as well as suggestions for future studies on the subject.

A análise, embora se volte para o delineamento dos diferentes momentos da trajetória da obra, bem como para outros textos do autor, centra-se no romance Glosa, publicado em 1986 / Abstract: The objective of the following Dissertation is to investigate a series of typical recurrences in the work of the Argentinian writer Juan José Saer ¿ which reveals its strong thematic regularity, described by the author himself as ¿el eterno retorno de lo idéntico¿ ¿ and to analyse the role played by the characters on the outline of the profile of a specific subject of discourse shaped by the text, responsible for its setting under the domains of the identical and its characteristic sense of repetition. The analisys, though aimed at the outline of the course of his work, as to author¿s other texts, focuses on the novel Glosa, published in 1986 / Mestrado / Literatura Geral e Comparada / Mestre em Teoria e História Literária

Reinforcement learning based traffic optimization at an intersection with GLOSADe Silva Jayasinghe, Rajitha Viraj 14 November 2019 (has links)
Traffic flow optimization at an intersection helps to maintain a smooth urban traffic flow. It can reduce travel time and emission. Regularly, new algorithms are introduced to control approaching vehicles and traffic light phases. Reinforcement learning and traffic optimization is a novel combination that is used by the research community. This thesis suggests a methodology to reduce travel time and emission of vehicles for a specific intersection design. Here the author provides a clear solution by considering the driving route of approaching the vehicle to the intersection. By using reinforcement learning and route information, this research suggests a vehicle ordering mechanism in order to improve the throughput of the intersection. Before proposing the solution, the author gives a thorough research review of previous studies. Various findings regarding various Reinforcement learning algorithms and how it has used to traffic optimization are explained in Literature review. Further, the author is using GLOSA as a baseline to evaluate the new solution. Several types of GLOSA variations are discussed in this report. A new approach, which can be seen as an extension of the existing GLOSA algorithms, is described in the concept chapter. A deep Q network approach and a rule-based policy are introduced as the solution. The proposed solution was implemented and evaluated. The author was able to achieve promising results from a rule-based policy approach. Further, the issues related to both approaches were discussed in detail and solutions were given to further improve the proposed solutions.

Komplexní studium Rukopisu dzikovského se zaměřením na grafickou, jazykovou a textovou analýzu české sbírky kázání / A Comprehensive Study of The Dzikowian Manuscript Focusing on a Graphic, Language and Textual Analysis of the Czech PostilSvobodová, Andrea January 2017 (has links)
Mgr. Andrea Svobodová Komplexní studium Rukopisu dzikovského se zam ením na grafickou, jazykovou a textovou analýzu eské sbírky kázání A Comprehensive Study of The Dzikowian Manuscript Focusing on a Graphic, Language and Textual Analysis of the Czech Postil Abstract The thesis submits a comprehensive philological analysis of the Dzikowian Manuscript, an insufficiently explored late medieval manuscript containing two postils, de tempore in Latin and de sanctis in Old Czech. The thesis aims to specify the place of this work in the context of medieval preaching, to critically review the previous research and to find new paths of research in evaluating this work. It is divided into three chapters, their common topic being attribution of both the postils on the grounds of codicological, content, and especially language features. Special emphasis is put on description of non-standard language phenomena, their interpretation being a key factor for transcription rules (one of the main results achieved apart from precising probable dating and localisation is a complete transcription of the Old Czech postil). The phenomena described enrich the existing inventory of deviations from the standard language and call for relating to other sources traditionally categorised as dialectal and thus for elaborating diachronic...

Effectiveness of a speed advisory traffic signal system for Conventional and Automated vehicles in a smart cityAnany, Hossam January 2019 (has links)
This thesis project presents a traffic micro simulation study that investigates the state-of-the-art in traffic management "Green Light Optimal Speed Advisory (GLOSA)" for vehicles in a smart city. GLOSA utilizes infrastructure and vehicles communication through using current signal plan settings and updated vehicular information in order to influence the intersection approach speeds. The project involves simulations for a mixed traffic environment of conventional and automated vehicles both connected to the intersection control and guided by a speed advisory traffic management system. Among the project goals is to assess the effects on traffic performance when human drivers comply to the speed advice. The GLOSA management approach is also accessed for its potential to improve traffic efficiency in a full market penetration of connected automated vehicles with enhanced capabilities such as having shorter time head ways.

This thesis project investigates the state-of-the-art in traffic management "Green Light Optimal Speed Advisory (GLOSA)" for vehicles in a smart city. GLOSA utilizes infrastructure and vehicles communication through using current signal plan settings and updated vehicular information in order to influence the intersection approach speeds. The project involves traffic microscopic simulations for a mixed traffic environment of conventional and automated vehicles (AVs) both connected to the intersection control and guided by a speed advisory traffic management system. Among the project goals is to assess the effects on traffic performance when human drivers comply to the speed advice. The GLOSA management approach is accessed for its potential to improve traffic efficiency in a full market penetration of connected AVs with absolute compliance. The project also aims to determine the possible outcome resulting from enhancing the AVs capabilities such as implementing short time headways between vehicles in the future. The best traffic performance results achieved by operating GLOSA goes for connected AVs with the lowest simulated time headway (0.3 sec). The waiting time reduction reaches 95% and trip delay lessens to 88 %.
