This monograph proposes a teaching strategy that makes the study of mathematics more enjoyable and engaging, showing how math can be used in order to provide the high school student elements to understand the reason to study math and what connection it has with their daily lives. Starting from the observation that the teaching of mathematics in public schools has struggled for acceptance of the students because mathematics is presented mostly in a traditional way, i.e., it presents the student with a pile of ready-made formulas without practical sense for them. This makes it become exhausting and ineffective, leading the student even despise mathematics. Faced with these issues, we propose the use of the program Gnumeric as a tool in teaching Progressions, Functions and Graphics. Currently, interdisciplinarity has been present in education and, following this idea, we use along with the program the mathematical modeling of population dynamics, in particular the dynamics of the Aedes aegypti mosquito as a motivation to work with the proposed contents. It is further proposed to inform and alert students about diseases caused by the mosquito Aedes aegypti. / Tendo em vista a necessidade de uma melhor interação entre docentes e alunos em sala de aula na abordagem de conteúdos matemáticos, atualmente é grande a busca por novas ferramentas didáticas que envolvem recursos computacionais. Propõe-se com este trabalho, fornecer uma ferramenta didática de ensino que torne o estudo da matemática mais prazeroso e envolvente, que seja mais realístico e que forneça ao aluno do ensino médio condições de avaliação do porquê estudar matemática e qual a ligação destes conteúdos com seu dia a dia, partindo da observação de que o ensino da Matemática nas escolas públicas vem enfrentando dificuldades de aceitação e aprendizagem pelos alunos, pois os conteúdos matemáticos são apresentados quase sempre de forma tradicional, ou seja, apresenta-se ao aluno um amontoado de fórmulas prontas sem sentido prático para os mesmos. Dessa forma, o ensino se torna desgastante e ineficaz, levando o aluno a até mesmo, desprezar a Matemática. Frente a essas questões, esse trabalho propõe o uso do aplicativo Gnumeric como ferramenta de apoio no ensino de progressões, funções e construção de gráficos. Atualmente, a interdisciplinaridade tem estado presente na educação e, seguindo essa ideia, usa-se juntamente ao aplicativo a modelagem matemática da dinâmica de populações, em particular do Aedes aegypti como motivação para se trabalhar o conteúdo proposto. Propõe-se ainda, informar e alertar os alunos acerca de doenças causadas pelo mosquito Aedes aegypti.

In this context, the development of this research seeks answers to the questions: What contributions does the use of the WxMAXIMA software provide for the understanding of the concepts of limits of real functions at the High School? What is the achievement of the students participating in the project with the study of limits of real functions? Therefore, the main objective of this dissertation is to apply and analyze a teaching proposal for High School students, consisting of activities on the calculation of limits of real functions in the computer lab. In order to reach this objective, a bibliographical research was carried out, highlighting the limits of real functions, concepts, the history and application of this subject in the context of mathematics, as well as the definition and application of WxMAXIMA software in the teaching and learning process. In addition to the theoretical study, a case study was developed at the Taguatinga Norte High School, in Distrito Federal, with the collaboration of 20 students, who study at that institution, where the meetings were held using computers of the computer lab in April 2018. With the results obtained through ten activities developed at the Computer Lab, a questionnaire applied to students and the researcher´s field diary, it was possible to verify that the students presented difficulties in the construction and reading of function graphs and in mathematics contents worked in lectures. However, by using the computer as a tool for the study of functions, these students were able to achieve the objectives of the proposed activities quite easily. These results allow us to conclude that the use of the WxMAXIMA software contributed to a better understanding of the concepts of Limits of Real-valued Functions, making the activities more meaningful, since the students were better able to understand the contents of each activity and achieve a better adaptation to WxMAXIMA software. / A matemática do Ensino Médio não contempla de maneira direta o estudo de cálculo de limites de funções reais em seus programas curriculares, embora tal conteúdo seja parte fundamental em diversos cursos de Graduação, como Engenharias e Informática. Nesse contexto, o desenvolvimento desta pesquisa busca respostas às indagações: Quais as contribuições que o uso do software WxMAXIMA proporciona para a compreensão dos conceitos de limites de funções reais no nível médio? Qual o aproveitamento por parte dos alunos participantes do projeto com o estudo de limites de funções reais? Nesse sentido, o objetivo principal desta dissertação é aplicar e analisar uma proposta de ensino, para alunos do Ensino Médio, consistindo de atividades sobre o cálculo de limites de funções reais no laboratório de informática. Para o alcance desse objetivo foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica, destacando limites de funções reais, conceitos, o histórico e aplicação desse assunto no contexto da Matemática e, também, a definição e aplicação do software WxMAXIMA no processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Além do estudo teórico, foi desenvolvido um estudo de caso no Centro de Ensino Médio de Taguatinga Norte, no Distrito Federal, contando com a colaboração de 20 alunos que estudam na referida instituição, onde os encontros foram realizados utilizando os computadores do Laboratório de Informática no mês de abril de 2018. Com os resultados obtidos por meio de dez atividades desenvolvidas no Laboratório de Informática, questionário aplicado aos alunos e diário de campo do pesquisador, foi possível constatar que os alunos apresentavam dificuldades na construção e leitura de gráficos de funções e nos conteúdos de Matemática trabalhados em aulas expositivas. Porém, ao utilizarem o computador como ferramenta para o estudo de funções, esses alunos conseguiram atingir os objetivos das atividades propostas com certa facilidade. Esses resultados permitem concluir que o uso do software WxMAXIMA contribuiu para melhor compreensão de conceitos de limites de funções reais, tornando as atividades mais significativas, uma vez que os alunos foram compreendendo melhor o conteúdo ministrado em cada atividade e conquistando uma melhor adaptação ao software WxMAXIMA.

It will allow the student to reflect upon the benefits of the use of computer in the teaching-learning process of Mathematics to high school students at the Colégio Tupy. Therefore, it will be analyzed and discussed the methods of Math teaching traditionally used in the classroom, with the use of board and chalk and the exercises of the math book, as well as, to investigate the researches done by education subjects who are constructing and testing theories of the use of computers and other technologies recently being developed at school. Once observed the results and applications of procedures that envision testing the validity of hypotheses of work here proposed, at the light of the theoretical reference used. Some pedagogical procedures are proposed to correct the inappropriateness, or to reinforce the positive aspects resulting of the systematized application of the present proposal. / Esta dissertação tem por principal objetivo mostrar os benefícios educacionais da utilização do computador no ensino de função de 2º grau e do seu gráfico correspondente através do computador, o que permitirá estabelecer uma reflexão sobre os benefícios do uso da informática no processo ensino-aprendizagem da matemática para os alunos do ensino médio do Colégio Tupy. Para tanto, serão analisados e discutidos os métodos de ensino da matemática tradicionalmente usados em sala de aula, como o uso do quadro e giz e os exercícios do livro didático, bem como, investigar as pesquisas realizadas por autores da educação que vêm elaborando e testando teorias sobre o uso da informática e de outras tecnologias recentemente desenvolvidas, no ambiente escolar. Uma vez observados os resultados da aplicação dos procedimentos que visavam testar a validade das hipóteses do trabalho aqui propostas, à luz do referencial teórico utilizado, são propostos procedimentos pedagógicos que poderão corrigir as inadequações, ou, reforçar os aspectos positivos resultantes da aplicação sistematizada da proposta em questão.
