Tendo as discussões sobre as relações entre literatura e cinema, no que diz respeito a filmes baseados em obras literárias, já superado os limites da mera busca pela fidelidade, ainda são escassos os estudos contrastivos que busquem, antes de tudo, compreender os dois meios respeitando as especificidades, possibilidades e limites de cada um. Este trabalho centra-se no estudo da estrutura narrativa da obra Duas Viagens ao Brasil, de Hans Staden, e do filme Hans Staden, de Luiz Alberto Pereira, baseado nesse mesmo livro. Com o intuito de contribuir para os estudos da narrativa, o que se busca é verificar como a narração se dá na literatura e no cinema, com base nas estratégias presentes no texto literário e no texto fílmico, neste caso duas obras separadas por cinco séculos. / Considering that the discussions about the relations between literature and movies, in regards to films based on literary works, have already overcome the limits of the mere research for fidelity, there are still few contrasting studies that pursue, above all, the comprehension of the two means respecting their specificities, possibilities and limits. This work focus on the study of the narrative structure of the book Duas Viagens ao Brasil, by Hans Staden, and the movie Hans Staden, by Luiz Alberto Pereira, based on this same book. In order to contribute to the narrative studies, the present work seeks to verify how the narration takes place in the literature and in the movies, based on the strategies presented on the literary text and on the movie script, in this case, two works separated by five centuries.

[pt] Publicado na Alemanha em 1557, o livro de Hans Staden sobre suas viagens à América portuguesa adquiriu vasta circulação pela Europa, com várias traduções. Parte de seu sucesso se atribui ao fato de ser relato sobre região recém incorporada ao conhecimento europeu e por expor o convívio do autor com indígenas praticantes de rituais de antropofagia. Em 1882, o relato de Staden teve sua primeira tradução para o português realizada por Tristão de Alencar Araripe. O membro do IHGB, além da transposição de uma língua para outra, (re) significaria o livro transformando-o em um registro científico capaz de dizer sobre o Brasil nos seus primórdios. O relato terá ainda outras traduções para o português, sendo (re) significado em diferentes momentos e circunstâncias: por Albert Lofgren (membro do IHGSP) em 1900 e pelo literato Monteiro Lobato em 1925, 1927 e 1945. Cada um destes agentes traduziram o livro de Staden com o objetivo de alcançar públicos distintos e dizer, através do relato, sua ideia de história de Brasil e de nação que se pretendia formar. Monteiro Lobato publicou mais de uma vez aquele material, dando a ele uma tradução lobatiana ou uma ordenação literária, adaptando-o ainda para o público infantil, utilizando seus famosos personagens do Sítio do Pica Pau Amarelo como Dona Benta e Narizinho. A partir da localização destas publicações, busquei compreender o porquê deste livro do século XVI assumir um valor emblemático pelos seus diferentes tradutores e, nesse sentido, identificar como cada um atribuiu novas significações ao livro e quais são estas. / [en] Published in Germany in 1557, the book of Hans Staden about his travels to Portuguese America acquired wide circulation in Europe, with several translations. Part of its success is attributed to the fact that reporting on newly incorporated into the European knowledge region and expose the author s association with indigenous practitioners of cannibalism rituals. In 1882, the reporting of Staden had its first translation into Portuguese made by Tristao de Alencar Araripe. The IHGB member, in addition to the transposition from one language to another, (re) mean the book turning it into a scientific record can say about Brazil in its early days. The report also will have other translations into Portuguese, and (re) meaning in different times and circumstances: Albert Lofgren (IHGSP member) in 1900 and the writer Monteiro Lobato in 1925, 1927 and 1945. Each of these agents translated the book Staden in order to reach different audiences and say, through the report, his idea of history of Brazil and nation that was intended to form. Monteiro Lobato published more than once that material, giving him a lobatiana translation or a literary arrangement, adapting it also for children, using his famous characters of the Sitio do Pica Pau Amarelo (literally translated as Yellow Woodpecker Ranch) as Dona Benta and Narizinho. From the location of these publications, I tried to understand why this book of the sixteenth century take on a symbolic value for their different translators and, accordingly, identify how each assigned new meanings to the book and what are these.

[pt] A presente tese tem como Leitmotiv o discurso fundador de Hans Staden acerca da terra e do homem no Brasil quinhentista. A passagem do século XV para o século XVI foi marcada pela descoberta e conquista do Novo Mundo. O processo colonizador dessas terras empreendido pelos europeus se deu, contudo, não apenas por meio de práticas de coerção e violência sobre os povos nelas existentes, mas também através da produção de consensos e convencimentos, sempre mediada pela construção de uma imagem do outro. A literatura da época, sobretudo os relatos de viagem, fornece amplo material a partir do qual se pode apreender essas imagens e compreender, por meio de ferramentas analítico-discursivas, o processo de construção imagética que se fazia do outro. Dentre as narrativas que chegaram até os dias de hoje, a wahrhaftige Historia und Beschreibung... de Hans Staden exerceu, sem dúvida, grande ressonância no imaginário social. Partindo, portanto, da Análise do Discurso de linha francesa, em especial das contribuições de Michel Pêcheux e Eni Orlandi, procura-se aqui analisar a narrativa elaborada por Staden, suas concepções acerca da terra e do homem no Brasil quinhentista, o processo de produção de sentido(s) desse discurso fundador e suas implicações no ensino do português como segunda língua para estrangeiros (PL2E). / [de] Die vorliegende Doktorarbeit hat als Leitmotiv den Gründungsdiskurs von Hans Staden uber Land und Mensch Brasiliens im 16. Jahrhundert. Der Übergang vom 15. zum 16. Jahrhundert ist von der Entdeckung und Eroberung der neuen Welt gepragt worden. Der von den Europäern unternommenen Kolonialisierungsprozess dieser Länder erfolgte jedoch nicht nur durch Zwangs- und Gewaltpraktiken gegenüber den darauf bestehenden Völkern, sondern auch durch die Herstellung von Konsens und Überzeugungen, die stets durch die Konstruktion eines Bildes des Anderen vermittelt wurden. Die Literatur der Zeit, insbesondere die Reiseberichte, bietet reichlich Material, woraus man solchen Bildern erfassen und den Konstruktionsprozess von Bildern des Anderen durch analytisch-diskursive Werkzeuge verstehen kann. Unter den Erzahlungen, die am heutigen Tag angekommen sind, hat die wahrhaftige Historia und Beschreibung… Hans Stadens groBe Resonanz in der sozialen Vorstellungskraft zweifellos ausgeübt. Ausgehend von der Diskursanalyse der franzosischen Linie, insbesondere aus den Beiträgen von Michel Pêcheux und Eni Orlandi, zielt die vorliegende Arbeit darauf ab, die von Hans Staden ausgearbeitete Erzählung, ihre Vorstellungen über Land und Mensch Brasiliens im 16. Jahrhundert, den Prozess der Produktion von Bedeutung(en) dieses Grundungsdiskurses und ihre Auswirkungen auf den Portugiesisch Unterricht als Zweitsprache fur Auslander (PL2E) zu analysieren.
