Outros cantos, começa agora, deusa : as representações de Jasão e a epopeia de Valério Flaco /

Mello, Jéssica Frutuoso. January 2019 (has links)
(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: Considering the multiple representations that the hero Jason received since Antiquity, the epic of Valerius Flaccus, a first century AD author, was chosen as the main object of analysis to reflect on the construction of the leader of the Argonauts. It is offered an overview of the authors who work with the narratives related to the hero in literary works previous to Flaccus, so that the reader can have an overview of the tradition that was constructed about the hero and the possible differences in the approach of the myth, which could affect his construction. In this exhibition, the work of Apollonius of Rhodes is emphasized as it's considered a mark in regard to this construction, given that the poet deals with the Argonauts' journey in epic genre, which would allow greater detail about various aspects of the myth that might not be possible in a shorter genre, in which the narrative was not predominant and the central figure was not the hero. The representation given to Jason by Valerius Flaccus is dealt confronting the hero intrinsically to his fellows and extrinsically to his predecessors in order to reflect on his new insertion in the epic genre in Latin context. Thus, it is intended to analyze both the construction of the hero alone in the work in which he is inserted and, by showing the various possibilities offered by previous poets, which versions Valerius Flaccus could have explored, either by a process of election of a model to be followed, affiliating to a traditio... A recepção do mito de Heráclio por Gautier d'Arras /

Souza, Guilherme Queiroz de. January 2014 (has links)
Orientador: Ruy de Oliveira Andrade Filho / Banca: Ana Paula Tavares Magalhães / Banca: Terezinha Oliveira / Banca: Celso Taveira / Banca: Ricardo Gião Bortolotti / Resumo: Esta tese analisa a recepção do mito do basileus Heráclio (c. 575-641) pelo clérigo francês Gautier d'Arras. Em Eracle (fim do século XII), romance octossilábico tripartite (6570 versos), Gautier adaptou a trajetória biográfica do soberano bizantino, do nascimento à morte. Da mesma forma, a "atualização" do conteúdo da Reversio tornou o governante bizantino um homem mais familiar ao público do século XII / Abstract: This thesis analyzes the reception of the myth of the basileus Heraclius (ca. 575-641) by the French cleric Gautier d'Arras. In Eracle (late 12th century), tripartite octosyllabic romance (6570 verses), Gautier adapted the biographical trajectory of the Byzantine ruler, from his birth to his death. Especially in the third part of the work, the author was based in the Reversio Sanctae Crucis, liturgical text that popularized the Heraclian myth in the Western Christian imaginary. In Reversio, whose authorship was attributed to the Carolingian Rabanus Maurus, are celebrated the triumph of Heraclius against the Persians and the recovery of the relic of the Holy Cross and of Jerusalem. Initially we analyze the origin of the myth in three authors of the Western Early Middle Ages: two from "historical tradition" (Fredegar and Mozarabic Chronicler) and one from "legendary tradition" (Pseudo-Rabanus). Then, we enter into the core of the thesis, with the exam of the reception and "literarization" of the mythical figure of Heraclius by Gautier d'Arras. Influenced by a symbolic language, the cleric introduced the stages of the hero's childhood/youth (1st part of the romance) and adapted the narrative of the Reversio (3rd part of the romance). With his literary talent and imaginative freedom, Gautier potentiated certain characteristics of the basileus and originally introduced others, which resulted in a singular character. In the same way, the "update" of Reversio content became the Byzantine ruler a more familiar man to the public of the 12th century / Doutor

No. of bitstreams: 1 Neemias Oliveira da Silva.pdf: 12742091 bytes, checksum: 41af331a98c1be3780516d060d7a6551 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2018-03-23 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / This thesis proposes the investigation of the myth built regarding Spartacus figure, slaves revolution leader in Ancient Rome and the demystification of this character in contemporaneity. We also analyzed Spartacus uses and appropriations which from eighteenth century on became symbol of revolutions. Thus, Spartacus became part of the popular culture along the time, reviving the epic hero at the cinematographic work from Stanley Kubrick (1960). Resuming in the twenty-first century through the series Spartacus (2010 - 2013), from epic hero to hero of masses. The return of the mythic hero is seen as nostalgia, a hero's model that no longer exists. Based on this we studied how the cultural industry reinforces occidental beauty patterns based on a body model. The hero's body is muscled, considered virility synonym and sexual symbol. Technological and scientific advances contributed to disenchantment of myths, the super natural, demystifying the hero. New hero models were built, ordered and integrated to a globalized media. This way the sources analyzed were Spartacus series, classical and reference works. The methodology used consists on Spartacus iconography analysis as a cultural representative and product of mass culture. At last the fact that Spartacus series was chosen as audio visual source is justified by the symbolic form the body and hero are described as simulacra of contemporaneous man.
