Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Rio de Janeiro / O presente trabalho busca, numa forma bastante pessoal de pesquisa participativa, fazer a genealogia do hip-hop no Rio de Janeiro, priorizando o elemento rap. Procura mostrar o impacto das novas tecnologias de comunicação e informação entre os que vivenciam o hip-hop, seja produzindo, baixando músicas, participando das redes temáticas, etc... Como as novas tecnologias fazem parte da história e da vida do hip-hop, aliadas ao trabalho cooperativo e colaborativo dos produtores dessa arte, é algo pensado com base nas teorias do trabalho imaterial / This work intends - in a very personal way of participative research to design a genealogy of hip hop in Rio de Janeiro, emphasizing the approach of rap music. It tries to show the impact of the new technologies of information and communication over those who produce, consume and live on the hip hop nets. The presence of NICs as well as the cooperative and collaborative ways of hip hop production are approached with the theoretical basis of immaterial work.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / A presente dissertação aborda as tensões vivenciadas no universo do hip-hop provenientes das relações de seus integrantes com a idéia de uma essência que definiria tal grupo cultural. Para tanto, trazemos uma breve problematização do conceito de identidade, como pano de fundo desta discussão, acreditando na sua relação com essa identidade essencializada do hip-hop. Portanto, tal contexto será analisado trabalhando com a hipótese de que essa relação ocorre de forma diferente, no discurso e nas práticas deste movimento. São priorizados os eixos temáticos política e mídia para o estudo destas problemáticas / This dissertation approaches the tensions experienced in the hip-hop universe from its members in relation with the idea of an "essence" that defines this cultural group. Thus, we bring a brif questioning about the identity concept as background to this discussion, believing in your agreement with this "essencialized identity" of hip-hop. Therefore, this context will be discussed with the hypothesis that this agreement occurs in a different way, in the discourse and practices of this movement. In order to analyze these problems, we prioritize politics and media as thematic fields.

This study examines my activist journey in developing a grassroots men's antiviolence and multi-generational mentoring group called the Progressive Masculinities Mentors. I draw upon Athena Mutua's intersectional vision of Progressive Black Masculinities into motion which reimagines traditional black masculinity in ways that move beyond negative social scripts in order for black men to reach their full humanity. Modeled on the activist work of Ella Jo Baker, a community organizer, within the civil rights movement, I advocate principles and practices of grassroots community mentoring as a way to bring about social change. "The Ella Effect" refers to the practices, ideas, and life philosophies of Baker which both inspire and inform my activist work of mentoring young college age men and local boys to become progressive men. Hip Hop music and culture is employed as a pedagogical strategy to engage young black males about problematic issues of black masculinity in an effort to create alternative modes that communicate love, compassion, and hope.

Em todo processo investigativo procurei ter um olhar para este movimento cultural juvenil e para os adolescentes aqui chamados por: Margarida, Rosa, Violeta, Cravo, Dália, Jasmim, Girassol, Bromélia, Lírio e Cacto que trouxeram suas experiências desta cultura dando corpo à pesquisa. Entendi que os gestos, movimentos corporais e o estilo de seu vestuário vinham imbuídos da identidade negra, com suas tranças e seu gingado corporal. O conceito de identidade diz respeito ao pertencimento social, cultural, étnico e de gênero, pertencimento que se constrói na família, nos ambientes sociais e institucionais, por meio de comparações e contrastes nas inter-relações socioculturais. Vi em meu corpo e no prazer pela dança uma cumplicidade para a pesquisa. Compõem esta pesquisa as falas dos adolescentes, do professor de educação física, da professora de arte-educação e da diretora da escola, em relação ao corpo e dança que é o principal objeto deste estudo, onde busquei minhas reflexões, tendo como base o referencial-teórico metodológico dos estudos culturais. Na experiência da dança e do corpo os adolescentes mostraram sua importância fotografando as coreografias do movimento cultural juvenil hip hop. Fica, para a leitura do trabalho completo, a reflexão desta cultura na fala dos adolescentes negros/as pesquisados. The current research is an invitation to the reader to sail into what has been lived for me, as a researcher, reaching the hip-hop young cultural movement in the Lucia do Livramento Mayvorne´s elementary school, in the Monte Serrat hill in Florianópolis. Through the whole investigative process, I tried to have a look on this young cultural movement and on the adolescents here called: Daisy, Rose, Violet, Clove, Dahlia, jasmine, sunflower, Bromeliad, Lily and Cactus that brought their experiences of this culture giving substance to the Research. I understood that gestures, corporal motion and vestry style came imbued with the black identity, marked by their braid hairs and body swaying. The concept of identity says about the social, cultural, ethnic and gender belonging, which is constructed in family, social and institutional atmospheres, over comparisons and assays in the socio-cultural inter-relations. I have seen in my body and in the pleasure for dance complicity for the research. This research is composed by the discourse of the adolescents, physical education teachers, arts teacher and the school principal, in connection to the body and dance, which are the main object of this research, where I searched for my reflections, having the theoretical-methodological allusion of the cultural researches as support. On the dance and body experience, the adolescents manifested their importance by photographing the choreographies of the hip-hop young cultural movement. Stays for the reading of the complete research, the reflection of this culture on the discourse of black adolescents that were here investigated.

This thesis is focused on the poetics of the czech hip hop lyrics. Analyzed texts increasingly represent the mainstream hip hop as a musical style and capturing the period from the beginining of the nineties until almost the present day. It deals with the appereance and description of the recurring patterns, their changeability in time, or sometimes even this what these schemes beyond. It also deals with the description of the specific atributs typical for certain kind of authors. The thesis is based on hermeneutics and poetics or stylistics.

My Diploma Thesis deals with a hip hop as a dance style called also hip hop dance. First, I briefly described hip hop as a culture in general and then paid closer attention to the one of the most important section the dance itself. I described formation and gradual advancement of the hip hop dance, I characterized the way of movements in this style and I dealt with its classification and categorization. I tried to find a way which hip hop dance has undergone from the street, where it was created, into the dance schools and studios and finally into the theatre stages. I was searching for the theatre hip-hop dance performances, which have been fortunate to be spread all over Europe and I have picked one of them for the detail analysis. Last but not least, the part of my Diploma Thesis is a survey in a form of questionnaire trying to find out opinion of the current dance community in a question of hip-hop dance style and its application in a stage choreography and all in all in a theatre environment.

O presente trabalho realiza uma etnografia da fala e do gestual de rappers integrantes da Associação Cultural ALVO ligada ao movimento Hip Hop de Porto Alegre. A pesquisa, orientada pelas contribuições teóricas da antropologia da performance, com foco analítico no uso nativo do corpo e da voz dos performers-rappers, tenta superar o senso comum acerca da virtuosidade/sensualidade inata do corpo do negro brasileiro na dança e na música, interpretando-os como um projeto de agenciamento étnico e social de um segmento de jovens negros da periferia urbana da cidade que reivindica espaços de poder através de sua cultura expressiva. / This thesis is based on an ethnography of speaking and gesturing among some rappers ( DJs, MCs, promoters) associated to the Hip Hop movement of Porto Alegre city, Southern Brazil. Considering the theoretical instances of an anthropology of performance, it focuses on the native concepts of body and voice by the performersrappers as a means to superseded common sense ideas on the virtuosity/sensuality of Brazilian Blacks for music and dance. Therefore, the study interpret them as a project in agency put forward by a youth Black segment of a Brazilian urban periphery as means to reinvidicate power through their expressive culture.

Desta forma, busco analisar as práticas estético musicais dos rappers dentro do Movimento hip hop, principalmente a partir das relações construídas com as cidades nas quais estão e sobre a qual buscam refletir a partir de suas vivências nestes espaços urbanos. Além das relações estabelecidas em trabalho de campo, e que me oportunizaram uma observação mais detalhada, utilizo as músicas produzidas por estes rappers como importantes referências para minhas análises, principalmente a partir das narrativas que estas músicas contêm. Estas práticas musicais me possibilitaram: (1) refletir sobre a relevância da produção musical na determinação dos fluxos que os rappers estabelecem a partir de suas cidades, Florianópolis e Lisboa; (2) identificar as diferentes formas de compreensão do processo de alargamento do espaço ocupado pelo Movimento hip hop; (3) perceber aspectos que unem ou distanciam a produção musical do rap no Brasil e em Portugal; (4) analisar as formas de representação da cidade para refletir sobre a formação de diferentes estilos de rap. Perceber a produção e circulação destes grupos na cidade é refletir sobre a própria cidade a partir das diferentes coletividades que a povoam e dos usos que fazem dela. Me amparando nesta Etnografia defino quatro estilos de rap: rap de quebra, rap floripa e rap gospel - Florianópolis eo rap crioulo - Lisboa com os quais interagi no trabalho de campo e com eles procurei melhr perceber os usos e apropriações do espaços urbanos a partir de suas práticas estético-musicais, bem como das representações que controem sobre estes espaços a partir de suas vivências.
