Potřeba jistoty a bezpečí na vybraných dětských odděleních / The need of confidence and safety at selected pediatric departments

ŠKRAŇKOVÁ, Jana January 2018 (has links)
Hospitalization means a lot of changes for a child. A child does not feel well, is isolated from home, friends, and comes to a new unknown environment full of white coats, fear, and different illnesses. After coming to hospital, a child loses the feeling of safety and is afraid. Fulfilling the child´s needs of certainty and safety is crucial for the child´s healthy development that is why the thesis deals with this topic. The aim of the thesis is to map to what extend the needs of safety and certainty of children are fulfilled in chosen departments. The thesis aims to find out in what way the asked children adapt to the hospital environment and to map the nurses´ approach to the children in the context of fulfilling the needs of safety and certainty as well. In the theoretical part, classification of children´s needs is described and the needs of certainty and safety are characterized. This part deals with adaptation of a child to the hospital environment and cooperation with the family, the role of parents during child´s hospitalisation, and the issue of hospitalism. For the empirical part, qualitative research was chosen via a method of semi-structured interviews with hospitalized children and nurses. The research sample was created by 17 children of younger school age and 6 nurses in the same ratio from three children´s department of Motol University Hospital. When interviewing children, we were finding out how they feel at hospital, what they experience, if they have visitors, if they are not afraid, and how they are informed about the diagnosis, check-ups, and the length of hospitalization. We were interviewing nurses about ensuring the needs of certainty and safety, decreasing fear and pain, common hospitalization of parents and children, and preparation of children for check-ups. On the basis of the analysis of results, we made a conclusion that the needs of safety and certainty are fulfilled to a great extend at children. Children generally adapt to the hospital environment well. Nurses treat them with love and try to devote themselves to them, encourage them and substitute their parents if they are not hospitalized with them. We think, however, that they do no devote enough time to psychosocial anamnesis and that is why an adaptation questionnaire was created which will serve nurses after admitting a child to hospitalization.

Färdplanen & Genèveinitiativet : Förutsättningar för framsteg i den palestinsk-israeliska fredsprocessen / The Roadmap to Peace & the Geneva Initiative : Conditions for progress in the Palestine-Israeli Peace Process

Eriksson, Magnus January 2006 (has links)
The aim of this paper is to examine if the two latest Peace Plans in the Palestine-Israeli con-flict observes the sources of the conflict and presents measures in the purpose of solving them. The point of departure is William Azar’s theory of protracted social conflict (PSC). According to Azar, the internal sources of a PSC lies in three clusters of variables: the com-munal content of a society, the deprivation of human needs as an underlying source of PSC, and the role of the state in the deprivation or satisfaction of human needs. The study is de-signed as a multiple-case study where the units of analysis are the Roadmap to Peace and the Geneva Initiative. An analyze instrument, based on operationalization of Azar’s three clusters of internal sources of a PSC, is developed and used to analyze the Roadmap to peace and the Geneva Initiative. The conclusions are that the two Peace Plans observes and present meas-ures to solve the communal content of the conflict, but both Peace Plans are unsatisfactory in presenting measures aiming to solve problems related to the role of the state and human needs. Especially the acceptance need within the state is missing in the contents of the Peace Plans.

Building Sustainable Urban Communities : Can a common participatory space offer a solution?

Ebeneku-Anim, Frederick, Jacobson, Ingrid, McRoberts, Margaret, Munyura, Pierre January 2005 (has links)
Globalization and rapid urbanization in the developing world have been contributing greatly to a current unsustainable reality. In order to move towards a sustainable society, the strength of people working collectively as a community must be recognized and harnessed to begin making changes from the bottom up. This thesis will examine how a common participatory space has the potential to become a community hub, and to foster participatory dialogue, negotiation and decision-making within urban communities of poverty. After examining the current reality, including present development practices, this research strives to find universal elements for a common participatory space where vision building and strategic community action can flourish. This study also examines the processes needed to engage community members in the cultivation, creation and maintenance of a common participatory space.

Contributing to a Transition towards a Sustainable Society : Education Matters

Davis, Kim, Shen, Changkun, Maratea, Aymeric January 2013 (has links)
This research aims to shed insights and produce supportive tools to help stimulate the design of education programs. First a characterization of opportunities and challenges for education programs is given from a global sustainability standpoint. Second a characterization of what education programs may contain and take into account from a full sustainability standpoint, as an outline of education programs in a desired future at a principle level, is provided to help inspire purpose-led education services organizations. Third an outline of possible tools and strategies to help strategically close the gap between the current unsustainable state and the desired sustainable future is provided. A special focus is put on the Template for Sustainable Product Development (TSPD) process tool, originally used to help industries in their production chain, but here adapted as the “Sustainability Potential” Express Strategic Assessment for Education Programs to benefit education programs stakeholders. The authors also propose a set of three abilities acting in synergy: Creativity, “Knowledge Making” & “Open Values” (CKMOV) that are at the heart of Strategic Sustainable Development and thus may help form three equally vital pillars, which education programs may strategically take support from while helping society transition to a sustainable equilibrium. /
+86 13637758331

Church growth as part of a wholistic missiological approach?

Schmidt, Jörg 06 1900 (has links)
Church growth missiology has been severely criticized by ecumenical, but also by evangelical missiologists. This often led to its rejection as it was considered incompatible with other missiological approaches. But church growth does deal effectively with important issues as other missiologies do. In light of Martin Luther's interpretation of the First Commandment a more general wholistic missiological approach is requested, which considers the full spectrum of human needs, and under which church growth can function with other missiologies together. The treatment of the task of missiology and the unity by attitude of the missiologist contribute to the argument. Therefore four major criticisms brought forth against church growth are dealt with in order to evaluate and finally suggest a potential theological compatibility of this approach with other missiologies. This is further confirmed by a brief introduction to important elements of the present status of church growth theory development / Christian Spirituality, Church History and Missiology / Th. M. Diens as kommunikasievoertuig van die evangelie in 'n post-apartheid samelewing

Kruger, Johannes Stephanus 06 1900 (has links)
Text in Afrikaans / Apartheid is verby. / Apartheid is a thing of the past. The new South Africa has dawned. But that does not mean that the "old" South Africa has disappeared. The "old" South Africa is still present. We are the inheritors of apartheid and have to live with the scars of apartheid. Poverty, joblessness, a shortage of housing and violence and crime are an integral part of the post-apartheid society and cannot be wished away. The church is called upon to communicate the gospel to all people in society. In a post-apartheid society it is important that in this process of communication, the gospel is seen and experienced in deeds of service. Deeds of service are thus central in this study. This study entails service of believers as communication vehicles of the gospel in a post-apartheid society. Derived from the needs of people in the post-apartheid society two deeds of service are identified which are essential in the communication of the gospel. These are empowerment and reconciliation. A large part of the society previously had no power on the economical and political fronts - therefore deeds of service that cultivate empowerment are essential. In this process economic, social and psychological empowerment plays an important role. And because people were separated and isolated on the ground of skin colour, people need to be reconciliated. In the process of establishing reconciliation among people, it has to be recognised that responsibility, confession of guilt, restitution, affirmative action, listening to people's stories and forgiveness have an important role. From a Christian perspective the service of the believer in a post-apartheid society is orientated to the service of Jesus Christ. His service serves as an example to all his followers. Because believers are followers of Christ, they are all his instruments of service. For this service believers are edified in their local churches by community (koinonia) and equipped by the spiritual leaders to be of service to people in the society. / Philosophy, Practical & Systematic Theology / D. Respektování potřeb předškolních dětí v mateřských školách pracujících dle různých kurikul / Respecting needs of preschool children in nursery schools operating under different curricula

Haová, Markéta January 2013 (has links)
The Thesis is devoted to the comparison of respecting children needs in Czech nursery schools and British nursery schools in the Czech Republic. It is concerned with the Czech statutory framework called Rámcový vzdělávací program pro předškolní vzdělávání and the British document called the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. Using content analysis the work examines both the documents and determines their approaches to satisfy needs of children. The second part of the research, conducted through observation, is figuring out how needs according to the Maslow A. are met in the practise of these nurseries. The content analysis and observation is used to discern whether the practise of the nurseries corresponds with their educational program in the area of satisfying children needs.
