Plan de empresa Husky

Rivero Zanatta, Juan Paulo, Lau Rebolledo, Juan Eduardo, Obeso Reyes, Juan Julio 24 September 2017 (has links)

Nygren, Kenneth January 2018 (has links)

DESIGN THINKING AND SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION: A CASE STUDY ON THE HUSKY SLEDGING BUSINESS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Demuro, Cristina January 2021 (has links)
Mushers, sledges, and husky teams run through Lapland for approximately 5000 years already to move goods, travel, and even military purposes. Nowadays, the mushing tradition has entered the local culture and evolved into a professional vocation for numerous entrepreneurs. Husky sledging companies of different sizes and business cultures meet the increasing touristic demand for sledging rides and safaris in the Finnish wilderness. Husky tours constitute a unique selling point for lots of Arctic destinations because part of the “to-do list” of every tourist exploring the extreme North. Despite the growing interests shown by visitors, the academic world has almost never focused any attention or resources to research the husky sledging industry. Since the covid-19 spread also in Lapland, the entire husky sledging business is condemned to face severe consequences and deal with wicked problems. This thesis aims to fill the research gap on the husky safari business and to offer husky tour companies support in mitigating the economic impacts caused by the pandemic outbreak. The investigation is based on the participatory action research realised in collaboration with Bearhill Husky, a dog sledging company operating in Rovaniemi. Design Thinking has been applied as a research methodology to develop sustainable solutions that could help the company survive the crisis. The aim is to prove that, under certain conditions, Design Thinking can succeed in this intent and to inspire other kennels to apply this methodology for developing resilience and sustainable innovation. This research looks at what has been destroyed and sees room for growth and progress and teaches that sometimes the problem is our approach towards it.

Local traversability assessment in an unmanned ground vehicle : An analysis of mobility on the UGV Husky / Lokal framkomlighetsbedömning hos obemannad markfordon : En analys kring framkomlighetsbedömningen i obemannade fordonet Husky UGV

Getahun, Kidus Y. January 2023 (has links)
This thesis project aims to learn and understand more about implementing a path planner to the unmanned ground vehicle (UGV), UGV Husky, specifically its traversability algorithm, and investigate how it could be further improved. A surrounding grid is generated around the UGV where each cell contains information connected to its traversability. The traversability filter is given this information to score how possible it is to traverse to the cell with regard to angular slope, terrain roughness, and step height. The three parameters have each a critical value that works as a limit where if one of the three parameters were to exceed the critical value then the cell would not be estimated to be traversable. The current problem is that their critical value for angular slope, step height, and terrain roughness are decided arbitrarily and mostly through simulation. To solve this problem, formulas are derived that focus on geometrical aspects of a UGV to define the limits in focus on slope and step. The formulas give threshold values applied to the code and are run in simulation. To validate this, hardware experiments are done to compare simulation and reality. This is to observe and learn if the simulations are good representations of reality and if the threshold values are correct. The results show that the thresholds are good estimations of the UGV Husky's limits. This is if one takes into consideration that other important factors are not included or known, such as the ground conditions in the actual experiments. The simulation studies also prove that Gazebo simulations are not good representations of reality to test terrain difficulties because of simplified physical representation, giving unreliable limits. Based on the successful implementation of the geometrically derived threshold values for slope and step, further work could include similarly derived threshold values for terrain roughness, and attempt to optimize the variables that are in the traversability formula.

Public-Private Partnerships in Saskatchewan: A Tale of Two Upgraders

2014 March 1900 (has links)
Stobbe, Mark Jacob, M.A. University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada, February 2014. Public-Private Partnerships in Saskatchewan: A Tale of two Upgraders. Most of the literature dealing with public-private partnerships (P3s) examines the impact of private sector involvement in the provision of infrastructure or services normally provided by the public sector. This thesis uses the two case studies of the NewGrade Heavy Oil Upgrader and the Bi-Provincial Heavy Oil upgrader to examine the dynamics of P3s entered into by government in a market-driven, commercial sector for the purposes of promoting economic development. In the 1980’s, there was a political consensus in the Saskatchewan legislature that the province needed upgrading capacity to convert heavy crude oil into more marketable and valuable light synthetic crude and that the upgraders should be built through P3s. The result was the creation of the NewGrade and Bi-Provincial Upgraders. In the 1990’s, financial losses at both upgraders caused the Saskatchewan government to demand renegotiation of these partnerships. The thesis examines these partnerships in their initial negotiation, construction/operation and renegotiation in order to determine what environmental factors and internal dynamics contributed to the success or failure of the partnerships and the relations between the partners. The thesis argues that the upgraders successfully achieved their public policy objectives and gained the benefits of synergies arising from the differences between the public and private sector. However, the partnerships came under severe stress arising from a prolonged downturn in oil markets and the price of crude oil. The resulting financial losses caused the Saskatchewan government to seek a renegotiation of the terms of partnership. Despite this common cause of stress in the partnerships, the renegotiations of the agreements varied greatly. It is demonstrated that these differences arose from the financial structure of each partnership, the nature of the private sector partners and the number of partners involved in the project. The thesis provides some observations of potential value for governments and corporations considering entering partnerships for economic development projects. The differences between partners that can create synergistic benefits can also be the basis for the erosion of trust between the partners. The different financial tools used by government to participate in P3s can have significant impacts on both project viability and relationships between the partners.

"The War Comes First": Lt. Col. Francis Carroll Grevemberg and the Development of a World War II Antiaircraft Artillery Officer

Janous, Robert 14 May 2010 (has links)
This thesis deals with the life and career and intimate life of Francis Carroll Grevemberg, an antiaircraft World War II officer from New Orleans, Louisiana. Grevemberg joined the Louisiana National Guard in 1932 and began his military career in the midst of the Great Depression. In the reorganization of the U.S. Army before World War II, the War Department transformed Grevemberg's cavalry regiment into a coastal artillery battalion with antiaircraft capability. During World War II, Grevemberg saw continuous action in the North Africa, Italy and Southern France. He regularly wrote letters from battlefields to his wife Dorothy. These letters provide a important window into a young officer's feelings, thoughts and affection in the unfolding of World War II. They are documents of a soldier's emotional release during times of crises. Lt. Col. Grevemberg is a rare, World War II antiaircraft artillery officer who took part and survived five amphibious landings in the Mediterranean.
