The theoretical basis based on the history of reading in society, accompanied by the development of the media until today, with social media. Based on McLuhan's thinking that "the medium is the message", Facebook is configured with one of the main communication and interaction platforms, enabling a new way of reading, in which the reader also produces content to others readers. What evidence do these readings make in academic everyday life? Do the reading practices developed by these students on Facebook provide the search for other readings? To answer these questions, the study based on a qualitative approach, seeking answers to the research problem. The study also based on an exploratory research, trying to understand what the practices of reading these students on Facebook are. As a way of collecting data, the study divided into three phases. The first phase consisted of sending e-mail questionnaires to the research universe, trying to understand the importance of social media in the day to day of each student. In this questionnaire, the respondents indicated their interest in participating in the second phase of the research, which consisted of the on-site visit of the researcher to the Urutaí Campus, carrying out a structured interview, in which the habits and reading practices of these students on Facebook verified. With this data, we started with the third phase of the study that examined the profiles of the students studied, through reading trajectories, thus seeking the students' reading evidence in social media. The research aims to serve as an instrument in the teaching-learning process of the educational institution, combining social media with the academic context. It concluded that social media influences students' readings, but there is still a timid movement within the Urutaí Campus. Teachers and other employees of the institution must participate effectively in these environments, combining social media with the academic context, thus providing new teaching-learning perspectives. / Estudaram-se as práticas de leitura nas mídias sociais evidenciadas pelos estudantes concluintes dos cursos de graduação do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia Goiano (IF Goiano) do Campus Urutaí na mídia social Facebook. A fundamentação teórica parte do histórico da leitura na sociedade, seguido com desenvolvimento dos meios de comunicação até à atualidade, com as mídias sociais. Apoiando-se na afirmação de McLuhan, de que o “meio é a mensagem”, o Facebook se configura com umas das principais plataformas de comunicação e interação, possibilitando uma nova forma de leitura, na qual o leitor também produz conteúdo a outros leitores. Quais evidências essas leituras fazem no cotidiano acadêmico? As práticas de leitura desenvolvidas por esses estudantes no Facebook proporcionam a busca por outras leituras? Para responder a esses questionamentos, o estudo se apoia em uma abordagem qualitativa, buscando respostas ao problema de pesquisa. O estudo se apoiou, também, em uma pesquisa de caráter exploratório, procurando entender quais são as práticas de leituras desses estudantes no Facebook. Como forma de coletar os dados, o estudo foi dividido em três fases. A primeira fase consistiu no envio de questionários por e-mail ao universo da pesquisa, buscando entender a importância da mídia social no dia a dia de cada estudante. Nesse questionário, os pesquisados assinalaram interesse em participar da segunda fase da pesquisa que consistiu na visita in loco do pesquisador ao Campus Urutaí realizando uma entrevista estruturada, na qual foram verificadas as trajetórias de leitura, bem como as práticas de leitura desses estudantes no Facebook. De posse desses dados, partiu-se para a terceira fase do estudo que examinou os perfis dos estudantes pesquisados, buscando assim, evidências de leitura dos graduandos nas mídias sociais. Concluiu-se que as mídias sociais influenciam as leituras dos discentes, porém ainda existe um movimento tímido dentro do Campus Urutaí. Os professores e demais servidores da instituição devem participar efetivamente desses ambientes, aliando as mídias sociais ao contexto acadêmico, proporcionando, portanto, novas perspectivas de ensino-aprendizagem.

O problema a ser equacionado pelo Estado, por meio de suas políticas públicas, é ampliar a oferta, considerando sobremaneira os grupos com histórico de exclusão. E, tendo em vista que um modelo único de instituição não é suficiente para contemplar toda a demanda, tampouco é adequado para a diversidade de exigências que são impostas ao sistema educacional, tanto pelo mercado quanto pela sociedade civil, a diversificação torna-se um instrumento necessário. Então, pela Lei nº 11.892 de 2008, é criada a Rede Federal de Educação Profissional, Científica e Tecnológica (RFEPCT), bem como os Institutos Federais de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia (IFs). Nesse contexto, o presente estudo intenta compreender como a educação superior se situa dentro do projeto de educação profissional e tecnológica no Brasil, e quais as particularidades do IF Goiano – Campus Urutaí no contexto da RFEPCT. Como objetivo principal, busca-se compreender quais as características da educação superior no âmbito do IF Goiano – Campus Urutaí, instituição integrante da RFEPCT. E de forma específica, procura-se: demonstrar quais os marcos regulatórios, nacionais e supranacionais, que influenciam na configuração da educação superior no Brasil; identificar as principais políticas voltadas para a educação superior brasileira, e entender a contribuição das mesmas para a ampliação do acesso a esse nível educacional; compreender o processo de evolução e de mudança de institucionalidade da RFEPCT, e entender a configuração dos IFs, percebendo como a educação superior se situa dentro do projeto de educação profissional e tecnológica no Brasil; demonstrar o panorama da educação superior em Goiás, tendo como foco os IFs do estado; apresentar as características estruturais do IF Goiano – Campus Urutaí; e evidenciar a organização e particularidades da educação superior no IF Goiano – Campus Urutaí. Para tanto, é realizada uma pesquisa de caráter bibliográfico e documental. A base bibliográfica deste trabalho está assentada em autores como: Amaral (2008a, 2008b, 2011), Amorim (2013), Azevedo (2011), Laia (2013), Ramos (2006), Schwartzman (2001, 2005), e outros. Já a estrutura documental constituiu-se de fontes como: leis, projetos de leis, decretos, normativa, resoluções e mais, bem como dados empíricos de organismos oficiais, nacionais e estaduais, e do próprio IF Goiano. Como resultado, este estudo evidencia que o foco dos IFs é a educação técnica e profissional. Mesmo assim, o desenvolvimento da educação superior nessas instituições constitui um instrumento importante de democratização, tanto pela expansão e interiorização das oportunidades educacionais, quanto pela inclusão social de grupos com histórico de exclusão desse nível de ensino. / Amid the pressure for supply of higher education in Brazil, the attendance capacity is limited by lack of financial resources, and thus a structure that embraces the demand historically repressed. The problem to be solved by the State, through its public policies, is to expand the supply, considering greatly groups with excluding history. And considering that a unique model of institution is not enough to contemplate all the demand, nor is it adequate for the diverse requirements that are imposed on the educational system, both the market and the civil society, diversification becomes an instrument needed. So, by Law nº 11.892 of 2008, the Federal Network of Professional Education, Science and Technology (RFEPCT) is created, as well as the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology (IFs). In this context, the present study intends to understand how higher education is within the professional and technological education project in Brazil, and which are the peculiarities of IF Goiano - Campus Urutaí in the context of RFEPCT. As main objective, it seeks to understand what are the characteristics of higher education in the IF Goiano - Campus Urutaí, an institution of RFEPCT. And specifically, it seeks to: demonstrate the regulatory marks, national and supranational, that influence the setting of higher education in Brazil; identify the main policies for the brazilian higher education, and understand the contribution of them to the expansion of access to this educational level; understand the process of evolution and change of institutionality of RFEPCT, and understand the configuration of the IFs, realizing how higher education is within the professional and technological education project in Brazil; demonstrate an overview of the higher education in Goiás, focusing on the IFs of the state; present the structural characteristics of IF Goiano - Campus Urutaí; and highlight the organization and characteristics of higher education in IF Goiano - Campus Urutaí. To this end, a bibliographical and documentary research study is performed. The bibliographic base of this work is built on authors such as: Amaral (2008a, 2008b, 2011), Amorim (2013), Azevedo (2011), Laia (2013), Ramos (2006), Schwartzman (2001, 2005), and others. Already the documentary structure is consisted primarily of sources, namely: laws, draft laws, decrees, regulations, resolutions and more, as well as empirical data from official agencies, national and state, and of the own IF Goiano. As a result, this study evidences that the focus of the IFs is the technical and vocational education. Even then, the development of higher education in these institutions is an important instrument of democratization, both for expansion and internalization of educational opportunities, how for the social inclusion of groups with a history of exclusion of that level of education.
