Identification & visualization of patient information elements to support chronic iIlness care: a scoping review and pilot study

Kinch, Vanessa 18 August 2017 (has links)
Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to determine what is known from the literature about the use of Clinical Information Systems (CIS’s) to support the information needs of individual health care providers (HCP), in particular the nurse case manager, and the inter-professional team providing chronic illness care in the community setting. Methods and Analysis: This is a scoping review with a pilot study for feasibility. MEDLINE, CINAHL, and WEB OF SCIENCE were searched up to April 2017. Reference lists and a citation manager of included studies were searched to identify further studies. Relevant full text papers were obtained and screened against inclusion criteria. Data from eligible articles was extracted using a predefined extraction form. Thematic narrative descriptions and descriptive statistics were used to summarize findings. Nurse case managers were recruited from diabetes and chronic kidney disease clinics for an exploratory questionnaire and follow up interview. Descriptive content analysis and nonparametric statistics were used to summarize findings of the pilot study. Results: 45 articles were identified meeting the inclusion criteria. Three themes emerged (1) patient information elements (2) visualization formats, techniques, and organization and (3) visualization of patient information elements. Diagnostics and observations were the most frequently mentioned information elements. Text was the main representation format. Four participants completed the pilot study initial questionnaire and one completed the follow up interview. There was 100% agreement for 11 elements. Six themes emerged (1) required information can change (2) information is required for different purposes (3) information required for communication is related to nurse case manager concerns (4) required information varies depending on the discipline reviewing it (5) certain types of information need to be grouped together and (6) it is difficult for a HCP to visualize what is necessary in a CIS without first seeing or trying it. Recommendations: The recommendations are a concept-oriented view customizable to the role of the HCP to display: diagnostics, outcomes and comparisons as graphs and colour coded, observations, medications, problem lists, clinical events, guidelines, the care plan, clinician to clinician communication, patient to clinician communication and clinician to patient communication as text, and clinical events as a timeline. Conclusion: This review and accompanying pilot study is a starting point for a framework of guidelines with the recommendations of proposed patient information elements and the visualization formats, techniques and organization. / Graduate

User-centred security event visualisation / Visualisation d'événements de sécurité centrée autour de l'utilisateur

Humphries, Christopher 08 December 2015 (has links)
Managing the vast quantities of data generated in the context of information system security becomes more difficult every day. Visualisation tools are a solution to help face this challenge. They represent large quantities of data in a synthetic and often aesthetic way to help understand and manipulate them. In this document, we first present a classification of security visualisation tools according to each of their objectives. These can be one of three: monitoring (following events in real time to identify attacks as early as possible), analysis (the exploration and manipulation a posteriori of a an important quantity of data to discover important events) or reporting (representation a posteriori of known information in a clear and synthetic fashion to help communication and transmission). We then present ELVis, a tool capable of representing security events from various sources coherently. ELVis automatically proposes appropriate representations in function of the type of information (time, IP address, port, data volume, etc.). In addition, ELVis can be extended to accept new sources of data. Lastly, we present CORGI, an successor to ELVIS which allows the simultaneous manipulation of multiple sources of data to correlate them. With the help of CORGI, it is possible to filter security events from a datasource by multiple criteria, which facilitates following events on the currently analysed information systems.

Les Systèmes d'Information Urbanisés : étude et analyse de leur performance / The urbanization of information systems : study and analyze of their performance

Trabelsi, Leila 14 November 2014 (has links)
The urbanization of Information Systems (IS) is an efficient approach to control the complexity of the organization. It strengthens the coherence of IS and aligns it with the business strategy which allows leading to the agility. This approach has significant advantages such as reducing Information Technologies (IT) costs, enhancing the IS position in a competitive environment and ensuring the scalability and sustainability of the IS through the integration of technological innovations. Owing to these factors, the urbanization is considered as a strategic business decision. Thus, its embedding becomes a necessity in order to improve the IS practice. However, apprehending the IS success is a complex challenge due to the lack of global standard assessment criteria of the Urbanized IS (UIS). Commonly, the IS must be appropriate to satisfy user needs and to generate organizational benefits. In this context, the aim of this work is to introduce conceptual framework that enables the evaluation of the IS success after the embedding of urbanization process. This study provides a quantitative empirical validation of the success of UIS and identifies important aspects that influences the perception of the use and net benefits of UIS. The findings present an exploratory validation of urbanization success. The proposed model for the evaluation of UIS has been empirically tested on survey data. The empirical tests highlight the significant causal relationships between UIS constructs such as Quality and use, User Satisfaction and Net Benefits. This work is an ambition attempt to understand and study of the dynamics of change of the existing IS to an UIS.

Řízení procesu změny architektury IS / Information system architecture change managent process

Kuba, Petr January 2007 (has links)
For the runtime phase of automated information system lifecycle is typical a frequent change of system quality requirements. Only systems that can adapt to these requirements are successful in its environment. The system change can be each time of different extensive. If it is necessary for satisfaction of new requirements to add, remove or change some system components and its relations than we talk about system architecture change. This action is so large-scale that it is very risky to implement it without appropriate control and management. This essay addresses these changes and its management. Main phases of the process and its activities are proposed. The suggestion is based on the development process of new systems and available literature from this area. The target of the essay is to offer a certain framework for the change process management. Introduction to iformation system architecture is the first part of the essay. The last part is then concerned in a practical example of information system architecture change and its evaluation.

Efekty a přínosy informačních systémů v podnicích / Effects and benefits of information systems

Veselý, Ondřej January 2009 (has links)
This diploma thesis deal with benefits of information systems (IS) in companies. It contains of theoretical and practical parts. The main goals of this thesis are to analyze the real information system in SUDOP PRAHA a.s. company and to draw up changeovers in this system and its driving with the main focus to raise benefits of IS. The nearby goals in theoretical part are: to identify the main potential benefits which can be reached using IS and to identify conditions and limitations to which companies have to impeach and which are crucial to maximize the benefits of IS. Theoretical part goes from available literature and electronic resources analysis. Practical part is based on consultations with SUDOP PRAHA a.s. employees and on information provided by developers of their information systems. The benefit of my diploma thesis is in the problematic parts of IS in SUDOP PRAHA a.s. identification. When the company eliminates these problems and enlarge its IS in the parts I suggest, their benefits of this IS should rise. These recommendations are definitely applicable to other specific information systems in nonmanufacturing companies, mainly design, consulting and engineering companies. This thesis could work as the base view of information systems and their driving issue. This fast view is useful for organizations, which haven't any information system yet or whose information system doesn't work great.

Možnosti integrace nemocničních IS IKEM a FTNsP / Integration possibilities of hospital information systems IKEM and FTNsP

Pelikán, Vít January 2008 (has links)
Besides of theoretical part of the thesis, which consists of the basic requirements for quality information system, this work explains evolution of two hospital information systems, their recent forms and current statuses. This thesis is not trying to focus on some detailed description of both information systems, rather on their parts which are critical for their operation. But the main idea of this thesis is not only plain description of those two systems, but mostly an attempt to create a solution, by which those two systems can be connected to work as a one.
