Řešení SAP pro utilitní společnosti / SAP Products for Utility Companies

Šafránek, Jan January 2008 (has links)
SAP IS-U is de-facto industry standard for customer information systems for utility companies through Europe -- used in electricity, gas, district heating and water utilities industry. These core modules are needed for invoicing tasks and most classical day-to-day scenarios: * IS-U BF Basic Functions * IS-U MD Master Data * IS-U DM Device Management * IS-U BI-IN Billing Invoicing * FI-CA Contract Accounts Especially for large customers in electricity and gas industry, IS-U EDM Energy Data Management is used for management of interval reading consumption and profiles. As utility industry evolves through market liberalization, unbundling processes are covered by IS-U IDE Intercompany Data Exchange (with PI Process Integration as and integration platform). Additionally, IS-U Work Management can be used to connect IS-U processes with PM Plant Maintenance functionality of SAP ERP and service department processes can be covered through two different products: * IS-U CS Customer Service - Older solution, less robust but fully integrated and easier for implementation * SAP CRM -- Stand-alone product, more robust, full featured solution My diploma theses can be used as a brief introduction into the world of IS-U and I also tried to answer these two additional questions: * Common processes that are not covered by IS-U * Comparison of ASAP and MMDIS methodology

Využití metodiky MMSP při vývoji IS v prostředí FileMaker / Usage of the MMSP methodics during development of IS in FileMaker software

Kábrt, Jakub January 2013 (has links)
Nowadays the importance of disposing of some information system still grows - organizations are more and more dependent on these systems, because they consider it to be storage of their valuable data. So they are still trying to improve those systems. Their importance grows even in the area of small business. These small businessmen appre-ciate improving situation of affordability of software solutions which they can use for supporting their business. Custom made or customized solutions which could be still developed are very appreciated. This diploma thesis deals with customization of MMSP methodics (Methodics for Small Software Projects) in FileMaker software. FileMaker is a computer program developed for creating individual information systems focusing on personal or business matters. FileMaker contains starting solutions which can be used right after installation the software (invoicing, project planning etc.). But it does not contain guidelines or any methodics which can be used during devel-opment of an individual system. In this thesis, I have edited the MMSP methodics and delivered new steps in order to support development in FileMaker software. The main benefit of this thesis is the customization of the MMSP methodics for using it during projects which deal with FileMaker software or similar during creation of a new system. This custom-ized methodics can be used as a supplement of the MMSP.

Developing effective knowledge management systems

Nevo, Dorit 05 1900 (has links)
Knowledge Management Systems (KMS) are computerized systems intended to support the management and application of organizational knowledge. Despite the many potential benefits from KMS> industry reports show that companies are having difficulties in realizing these benefits. This dissertation sets out to identify the reasons for those difficulties - from a requirements analysis point of view - and to propose a way to improve the design of KMS in order to enhance their benefits to companies. We develop a theory-based approach to the evaluation of Knowledge Management Systems and identify the main shortfalls of existing systems. The findings show two inter-related problems. First, the lack of a conceptual model such as an organizational ontology or of additional knowledge about the knowledge might inhibit KMS ability to support specific organizational KM processes. Second - the lack of an integrated KM product reduces organization's ability to attain an overall solution for the management of organizational knowledge. In addition, the analysis pinpoints the inability of current technology to support effective management of tacit knowledge - an important aspect of KMS design. In the second part of the dissertation we focus on one of the problems identified - namely, the lack of a unified meta-knowledge set - and identify the specific meta-knowledge that should be incorporated into the design of KMS. The expected benefits from the inclusion of meta-knowledge are better management of organizational memory and enhanced adoption of knowledge by KMS users. We conduct an empirical investigation - using conjoint analysis - to identify specific attributes of knowledge and of knowledge sources that individuals take into account when making their knowledge use decision, and propose that these attributes should be included as meta-knowledge in the KMS design. The results indicate that the 'accuracy' and 'relevance' of the knowledge are the top two important attributes in the knowledge selection decision and 'extent of knowledge' and 'trustworthiness' are the top two important attributes in the selection of a knowledge source. In addition the results show that knowledge plays a slightly more important role than knowledge source in the overall decision. Finally, several demographic and contextual variables - such as the knowledge search task and organization size - are shown to affect the importance of different attributes in the overall evaluation of knowledge and of knowledge source by individuals. / Business, Sauder School of / Graduate

Flood Hazard Assessment along the Western Regions of Saudi Arabia using GIS-based Morphometry and Remote Sensing Techniques

Shi, Qianwen 12 1900 (has links)
Flash flooding, as a result of excessive rainfall in a short period, is considered as one of the worst environmental hazards in arid regions. Areas located in the western provinces of Saudi Arabia have experienced catastrophic floods. Geomorphologic evaluation of hydrographic basins provides necessary information to define basins with flood hazard potential in arid regions, especially where long-term field observations are scarce and limited. Six large basins (from North to South: Yanbu, Rabigh, Khulais, El-Qunfza, Baish and Jizan) were selected for this study because they have large surface areas and they encompass high capacity dams at their downstream areas. Geographic Information System (GIS) and remote sensing techniques were applied to conduct detailed morphometric analysis of these basins. The six basins were further divided into 203 sub-basins based on their drainage density. The morphometric parameters of the six basins and their associated 203 sub-basins were calculated to estimate the degree of flood hazard by combining normalized values of these parameters. Thus, potential flood hazard maps were produced from the estimated hazard degree. Furthermore, peak runoff discharge of the six basins and sub-basins were estimated using the Snyder Unit Hydrograph and three empirical models (Nouh’s model, Farquharson’s model and Al-Subai’s model) developed for Saudi Arabia. Additionally, recommendations for flood mitigation plans and water management schemes along these basins were further discussed.
