The Research of Brand Image and Involvement Affect Brand Royalty in Smart Phone Market

The global shipments of smartphones will be more than four hundred fifty million, and it will overtake handset and become the mainstream in 2011. The fact is that there are more and more choices for customers to choose. It not only many brands, but also varieties of operating systems are provided with consumers.In this trend, is brand image still important factor that contributes to the consumers choosing the smartphones? For customers having had smartphones, how the brand image affects their loyalty? Therefore, this study attempts to find out the linear relationship between brand image and brand loyalty, In addition, it takes involvement and the operating systems into consideration. The research also intends to focus on whether the effects of the involvement adjust this or not and look for a difference of linear relationship between the two operating systems-android and ios. The scope of this research includes the customers owning smartphones in Taiwan. Moreover, the method of the study is sending on-line and paper questionnaires at the same time, and the number of the valid questionnaires is 261.In this study, brand image are divided into three perspectives by factorial analysis, functional benefits, symbolic benefits, experiential benefits. Brand loyalty consists of behavioral loyalty and attitudinal loyalty. The involvement is composed of importance, symbolic value, and risk.The research uses regression analysis to verify the linear relationship between brand image and brand loyalty. Furthermore, put brand image, brand loyalty, involvement into the regression analysis, and through multiple stepwise regression analysis to find out the factors which contribute to linear relationship. The result reveals that there is a linear relationship between the brand image and brand loyalty. In addition, linear relationship between different operating systems is also different, and especially the functional brand influences significantly on brand loyalty.

A Survey Study on Parental Involvement in Mathematics Learning for First and Second Grade Children in Kaohsiung Elementary Schools

In this survey study, the investigator studied parental involvement in mathematics learning of grade one and grade two children; also parents¡¦ needs; and finally, relationship of involvements to needs. In order to conduct the survey, the investigator referred to Epstein (1995) and developed a questionnaire. There are 3 parts in the questionnaire: background information (6 parent variables and 8 children variables), parental involvement and parents¡¦ needs. A total of 958 parents from 40 classes completed the questionnaires; they came from ten elementary schools (2 classes in each grade). Data analyzes were completed by descriptive statistics, t tests, ANOVA-one way, and, Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. First, results on parental involvement are two: among the items in Epstein, the involvement is highest in Learning at Home category and lowest in Decision Making category; and, three among the six parent variables and seven among the eight children variables were related to parental involvements. Second, results on parents¡¦ needs indicated that the overall parents¡¦ need is high. Third, there is positive correlation between parental involvements and parents¡¦ needs. Finally, the investigator closed with recommendations for future research and practice.

A Study of Consumer's Motivation and Satisfaction of Online Group Buying-A Case of Southern Taiwan

The Internet alters the traditional business environment. Due to the convenience of the Internet, consumers are able to acquire both tangible goods and intangible services. With the advent of the internet and its related technologies, the emerging online shopping a distinctively new business transaction format becomes the trendiest activity in these days. The spirit of online group buying is to exercise the buy¡¦s bargaining power by amassing number of people interested in the same goods and their money in order to achieve the goal of having desirable prices. Besides the financial motive, what are the other incentives driving consumers to join online group buying is another interesting subject discussed in the paper. When shopping online, consumers can obtain product information only by pictures and depictions posted by sellers. Therefore, the credibility of the group-buying initiator is very important because of the fictitious shopping environment. The goal of the research is to comprehend the correlation between consumers¡¦ online group-buying motivations and customer satisfaction. According to the above, the research model is consisted of the following factors: (1) motivation of online group-buying participation; (2) customer relationship; (3) product involvement; (4) customer satisfaction. The research sample group is targeted at the southern residences with online group-buying experiences. There are total 849 questionnaires performed face-to-face and on the Internet retrieved during the sample period from February 25, 2012 to March 25, 2012. All of this data will be used to explain the correlation between online group-buying motivations and customer satisfaction. After calculating and analyzing all data, there is a positive relationship between online group-buying motivations and the customer satisfaction. Besides, trust categorized in the customer relationship acts as an intermediary in the relationship between online group-buying motivations and the customer satisfaction. Moreover, the product involvement also interferes in the relationship between online group-buying motivations and the customer satisfaction. In order to stand out and be successful in the overcrowded and competitive e-commerce market, there are several suggestions about online group-buying activities based on the results of above. Online group-buying initiators can use promotions to attraction consumers¡¦ attentions. Furthermore, a user-friendly website can also increase the level of the consumer satisfaction due to its simplicity and accessibility. Based on all information collected, the product quality and the seller¡¦s credibility are the most crucial elements affecting consumers¡¦ purchase inclinations.

The relationship between Customer Satisfaction and Brand Loyalty affects on NoteBook

With the ongoing innovation of production technology, the quality and properties of NoteBook (NB) are more advanced, and the price is getting lower. Due to the low price and the rising of Chinese consumption level, the demand of NB is progressively increasing. On the other hand, compared with other items, NB is a high unit price item. Therefore, the brand name of products becomes a factor for consideration in consumer purchases. It also leads to the consequence of NB industrial concentration. According to MIC¡¦s report, the global market share of top 5 NB brand (Acer, Hewlett Packard, Dell, Lenevo, and Toshiba) is up to 74% in 2010. Due to the circulation in information technology, NB functions and services provided by brand companies become similar. Under this condition, the discrepancy between different brand NBs is shortened. In the consumer-oriented market, only consumer satisfaction cannot create the consumer loyalty. Despite the consumer satisfaction, brand companies should consider other factors that affect the brand loyalty. The research is to discuss the factors affecting brand loyalty from the aspects of involvement, using habits, and demographic variables. In addition, statistic analysis is based on collecting questionnaires, in which the analysis includes factor analysis, regression analysis, and ANOVA analysis. The research found that: 1. Consumer satisfaction still affects brand value ,and be a essential factor of brand loyalty. 2. Regarding to involvement, product pleasure will be factor between consumer satisfaction and brand loyalty; others will be not. 3. Using habit and Demographic Statistic will be factors between consumer satisfaction and brand loyalty.

The Role of Human Resources Professionals in Corporate Social Responsibility: An Exploratory Study of Taiwanese Firms

Nowadays most companies are now being faced with the reality that Corporate Social Responsibility is more than merely a fad. Drawing upon CSR, HR and stakeholder related theories this research aims to substantiate empirically by exploring HR¡¦s contribution to responsible leadership within corporations with the endeavor to explore to what extent Taiwanese companies have integrated CSR practices in their Human Resource Management policies and practices. Relying on the quantitative analysis of 82 questionnaires and qualitative analysis of interviews with CSR and HR executives from 3 corporations in Taiwan, an analysis of whether HR supporting functions towards employee training and development (CSR and General), employee wellbeing, employee engagement and CSR communication to employees contributed to the success of CSR programs. Findings of this research uncovered that companies pay due attention to employee training and development, employee wellbeing as well as employee engagement. The study also helped explain the existence of implicit CSR practices in Taiwanese firms suggesting that an inside-out approach to CSR communication exists in Taiwanese firms; most firms do not engage in philanthropic activities but are more akin to ensuring that they maintain a high level of employee work-life balance. The thesis concludes that the HR has the potential to dig deeper into the company levels and structures and identifying underlying definitional issues that may prevent or facilitate the success of CSR programs.

Effects of Parent Expectations and Involvement on the School Readiness of Children in Head Start

There is an achievement gap occurring between ethnic minority children, mostly from low-income homes, and European American children in the United States. The gap between these children is present at school entry. Many children are not prepared for the minimal standards needed to succeed in school and, as a result, the gap widens throughout schooling. School readiness is an important attribute for future success among all children. There are many efforts to close this school readiness gap through early intervention. Head Start is an example of an early intervention program offering educational and social services to low-income families in an effort to promote school readiness among children at-risk for school failure. Early intervention programs, policy, and research acknowledge that advocating parent involvement and empowerment is the foundation for improving children's ability to be successful in school. The purpose of this study was to examine the association between parent variables and school outcomes. Specifically, the focus was to study how parent expectations and parent involvement in home learning and enrichment activities affect the school readiness of children enrolled in Head Start. The study examined how these parent variables were related to children's school readiness, and differences between ethnic groups, gender groups, and level of risk. The study tested a model whereby the effect of parent expectations on school readiness is mediated by parent involvement. The sample consisted of 77 caregivers, primarily mothers or mother figures, and their children who were enrolled in a Head Start preschool program. The caregivers were given experimental measures in addition to questionnaires adapted from standardized measures to assess parent behaviors. Standardized measures were administered to children to assess school readiness. Demographic information and level of risk were gathered using existing data collected during the enrollment process. Results indicated that high parent expectations directly relate to increased school readiness scores. Parent expectations also had a positive direct relationship to parent involvement. However, results did not support that parent involvement in home learning activities served as a mediator of the relationship between parent expectations and school readiness variables. In addition, the analysis of ethnicity, gender, and risk level suggested these variables had no moderation effects on the parent expectations and school readiness relationship or the comprehensive model. Study implications for parent behaviors and school readiness are discussed.

Abstract Till today, the history of performance appraisal has developed over 70 years, and also many experts and scholars put forward appraisal theories and standards, but no any enterprise will say that their own appraisal institution is perfect, because both the subjective factor, e.g.: employee themselves, organization, and society, etc., and external situation can influence performance appraisal. Due to the difference of educational background and the specific characteristics in the hospitals, this let the work of performance appraisal to be more complicated; the scholar shows that over 61% employee are discontented with the appraisal results. To the organization, the justice of appraisal is an index very important to judge the effect of performance appraisal. Moreover, we can find from more researches, employee¡¦s cognizance to the justice of performance appraisal will influence personal results and the results of organization, includes satisfaction of work, participation of work, promise to organization, and the confidence in the directors, etc. Therefore, the object in this research is the medical center in Taichung. We investigate the justice cognizance of performance appraisal institution, and the influence possible to working attitude. We use people¡¦s personal property to be control variable, the justice of performance appraisal institution (includes justice of procedure and distribution) to be independent variable, working attitude (includes job satisfaction, organization commitment, and job involvement) to be according-variable, and explore the relationship and influence of personal property variable, justice of performance appraisal, and working attitude with the items mentioned above. We hope to give the performance appraisal standard to the case hospital to evaluation, start the development of manpower, and the reference of raising employee results. This research total gives 2065 questionnaires, and effective questionnaire is 1452. Through Pearson Correlation Analysis, Hierarchical Regression Analysis, Canonical Correlation Analysis, Independent-Samples T test and Reliability Analysis, we have the finding important as follows: The correlation and the influence between the procedural justice, distributive justice and the working attitude are showed the positive obviously; further more, to explore the relationship degree between the justice of performance appraisal and working attitude with typical correlations analysis. The principle variable (construction of procedure, objective principle, expression of opinion, actual results, self-estimation, and policy opinion) influences mainly the internal and external satisfaction, effort promise, value promise, job promise, etc. 5 forecast variable; besides, objective principle influences the forecast variable of value promise and job promise. Among procedure justice of performance appraisal, distributive justice, and working attitude, it shows positive correlation and influence noticeable. Moreover, to explanation comparison between independent variable and dependent variable: explanation of procedure justice to organization commitment (value promise and job promise) is powerful than distributive justice, to the others; the explanation of distributive justice to job satisfaction and job involvement is powerful. Therefore, we can find distributive justice has its importance in the explanation to job satisfaction and job involvement. Procedure justice can forecast organization commitment. To the personal properties of employee, except sex, age, service years, marriage, education degree, and position, the difference is obvious to procedure justice, distributive justice, job satisfaction, organization commitment, job involvement, etc. of performance appraisal. In accordance with research conclusion of example with the reference of the case hospital¡¦s organization construction, we would like to give the suggestion in the process of performance appraisal, results, working attitude, and administrator as follows: Consider mark standard of public appraisal, distribution of reward, and conclude clearly the system of promotion of employee. Develop performance appraisal index according to character of position, build the two ¡V way communication performance appraisal system, reduce dispersion of organization space to enhance the technician¡¦s information interaction, the judge should be trained, and establish different performance appraisal index according to the character of position. The effect of Perceptions of Organizational Politics on Job Involvement and Job Stress

This research relates to the relationship between organic political awareness and work stress and involvement and other issues of employees. It also aims to discuss variables for harmonization of organic politics and results using personality as interfering parameter. This study is mainly conducted on lucrative institutions and businesses in private sector. A total of 948 effective questionnaires were received and the survey was conducted using data for factor analysis, credibility analysis, relevant analysis, regressive analysis and level-based regressive analysis among other approaches. The outcome suggests sound credibility of the quantitative tables, which is available for reference. While organic political awareness does create impacts on work involvement and work stress, we have come to realize that personality does remarkably interfere with the interaction between organic political awareness and work stress and involvement.

The research of employee's attitude toward public hospital mergence -- a case of Kaohsiung Municipal United Hospital

The importance of public hospitals is dwindling, and the National Health Insurance Bureau takes initiatives such as the system of payment retrenchment and the large reduction in official budgets due to the insufficiency of government finance in order to control the enlargement of medical expenditures. For this reason, it is necessary for public hospitals to make a change so as to get used to the change of the environment. The research takes Kaohsiung Municipal United Hospital as an example to explore the correlation and effect of all the variables of employees¡¦ job insecurity during the pre- and post-mergence on job satisfaction, organization commitment, job involvement and the intent to quit. Meanwhile, hopefully the research can be the reference for managers in terms of human resource strategies while public hospitals are going to merge. There are two periods of distributing questionnaires. At first, 700 questionnaires one month before the hospital mergence (the end of November in 2002), the subject includes doctors, nurses, administrative staffs, medical technicians, and there are 390 returned questionnaires, which reaches 55.7% return rate. One year later after the hospital mergence, we perform again with 731 questionnaires , and 397 returned, which reaches 54.2% return rate. Here are the main finding (discoveries) of the research as follows: 1. The insufficiency of the consider before the hospital mergence and of the communication after the hospital mergence. 2. There are some differences of employees¡¦ job insecurity and employees¡¦ job attitudes, and the departmental mergence after the public hospital mergence. 3. Employees¡¦ helplessness has no effect between private enterprise and public hospital merging on their job satisfaction before the hospital mergence; employees¡¦ helplessness has the negative effect on their job satisfaction after the hospital mergence. 4. Employees¡¦ helplessness has no effect on their organization commitment before the hospital mergence; employees¡¦ helplessness has the negative effect on their organization commitment after the hospital mergence. 5. Employees¡¦ helplessness has no effect on their job involvement before the hospital mergence; employees¡¦ helplessness has the negative effect on their job involvement after the hospital mergence. 6. Employees¡¦ helplessness has no effect on their intent to quit before the hospital mergence; employees¡¦ helplessness has the positive effect on their intent to quit after the hospital mergence.

The differences of nursing staff¡¦s working attitudes before and after hospital merger ¡X A study of Kaohsiung Municipal United Hospital

The public hospitals in Taiwan are facing the change of public responsibilities that they used to have and on the other hand encountering the fierce competition caused by National Health Insurance. As a consequence of this, public hospitals need to adjust their managerial model, like mergers for example, in order to coordinate their core competence and lower their cost in administration. However, the changes of organizations will cause the job insecurity of employees and further to affect their working attitudes. In hospitals, nursing staff forms the biggest proportion of employees. In this study, we examined the merger of Kaohsiung Municipal United Hospital in 2003. We investigated the job insecurity and working attitudes of nursing staff by questionnaires in the end of 2002 (before the merger) and in the end of 2003 (one year later of the merger) separately. By analyzing those questionnaires we explored the influences of job insecurity on working attitudes, and we also compared the differences of nursing staff¡¦s working attitudes in two hospitals. The findings are: 1. The more job insecurity that nurses got, the worse their job satisfaction will be. 2. The job insecurity and working attitudes of nursing staff will be different based on their different personal characteristics, including the hospital they belonged to, the ages, marriage status, education, levels of position, and their contract types. 3. The influences of job insecurity on job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and intention to quit will be different based on different hospitals. 4. The influences of job insecurity on job satisfaction will be different before and after merger.
