Violeta Chiumakova. Theme of the Master of Science work: “Incomplete families 5-7 years old child education and competence peculiarity.” The research adviser of the work is – doc. dr. V. Glebuviene. The pedagogical university of Vilnius, The department of childhood studies, 2005. The empiric research of education and competence peculiarity, took place in Vilnius, Zarasai and Shalchininkai cities between 5-7 years old children from complete and incomplete families.155 children from incomplete families (ostensible group) and 247 children from complete families (control group) took part in the research. The aim of the research was to find out whether children from incomplete families competence abilities level differs from the children with complete family. Also was looking forward to find out how the family structure influences children’s education and competence abilities. Pedagogical, psychological, science literature analyzes were used for the Master of Science work; interview (conversation with child), collision situation, problem situation, observation, experiment, questionnaire for parents, questionnaire for pedagogues, processing methods for statistic information. While analyzing literature had become clear that because the lack of researches, it is very hard to answer the question, how does the child should be educated in school and kindergarten, if he lives in incomplete family. Rodinná politika ve vztahu k rodinám po rozvodu / Family policy in relation to families after divorce

In my thesis I am concentrating on family policy in relation to families after divorce or separation. I am focusing on problems which single-parent families have to deal with. Specifically, I am analysing current forms of child custody of under-aged children after the divorce. I have examined circumstances which lead to award the custody of the child and risks of these arrangements. Every single form of child custody is enriched by a case study. In connection with maintenance obligation I have investigated latest political instruments which are used for maintenance order. Furthermore I have looked into newly emerging policy of the maintenance backup plan. The aim of the thesis was accomplished by desk research and primarily evaluation of data which I collected by qualitative research interview, concretely semi-structured interviews with experts in this field. Based on main theoretical ground my research I concluded that single-parent families are considered as group of "dependents". Another theory I have worked with in my thesis is the theory of material and psychological deprivation. Material deprivation is related to not paying maintenance by a parent. The work deals whit a family, its different types, functions and influenceson a child development. There is charactersed an endangerad family in the first part,too. Next it describes various parent positions, roles and their risk factors in education. In the third part there is written about the situations, when a family becomes incomplete - because of a parent or death or divorce. It is focused on child feelings after the loss of its parent. Today much more couples separate and taking care of children brings a lot of difficult moments. The risks of a single parent upbringing are meant there, too. Next chapter daels whit relationshipsof family membres after a step-parent comes into a family. In the last part there is a description of a family education, styles and risk factors of unappropriate parentś positions.

Důsledky spojené se ztrátou živitele v rodině / Consequences associated with the loss of a breadwinner in the family

This thesis is focused on consequences which are associated with the loss of a breadwinner in the family. The aim is to identify and describe the impacts on families and compare these consequences in the cases of divorce and death. At first this paperwork brings information about family and its peculiarities. Other chapters are devoted to single-parent families as a result of a divorce, and death. In these chapters, we focused on the impacts of these two events. There are described primarily impacts on economic, social, educational and psychological aspects of the family. Information in this chapter are supported by excerpts from interviews that were conducted with several women, who have lost husbands, and thus became the breadwinners. The next chapter is devoted to the role of the state in this issue. It describes how family policy is designed and how the state directly compensates for the loss of a breadwinner in these two cases. The end of this chapter provides a brief description of family policy, focusing on the loss of a breadwinner in several other European Union states. The last chapter provides an analysis of the interviews, and there we can see what are the impacts on the family, which single mothers perceive. And what is the difference in impacts at these two events.
