No. of bitstreams: 1 RodrigoBS.pdf: 821976 bytes, checksum: 45f7062b292e641f0f7e595b2b356d60 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2005-02-04 / Petr?leo Brasileiro SA - PETROBRAS / The using of supervision systems has become more and more essential in accessing, managing and obtaining data of industrial processes, because of constant and frequent developments in industrial automation. These supervisory systems (SCADA) have been widely used in many industrial environments to store process data and to control the processes in accordance with some adopted strategy. The SCADA s control hardware is the set of equipments that execute this work. The SCADA s supervision software accesses process data through the control hardware and shows them to the users. Currently, many industrial systems adopt supervision softwares developed by the same manufacturer of the control hardware. Usually, these softwares cannot be used with other equipments made by distinct manufacturers. This work proposes an approach for developing supervisory systems able to access process information through different control hardwares. An architecture for supervisory systems is first defined, in order to guarantee efficiency in communication and data exchange. Then, the architecture is applied in a supervisory system to monitor oil wells that use distinct control hardwares. The implementation was modeled and verified by using the formal method of the Petri networks.

César Augusto Mayor Herrera 18 November 2013 (has links)
Is presented a system for time optimization of the calibration and compensation process of piezoresistive pressure sensors for automation and control applications with high performance characteristics, with compensation of several error sources, specially, compensation of temperature dependencies and nonlinearity, based in an approach that privileges accuracy and precision in the measurements, quality and reliability. The designed system enables the automation of the calibration process and temperature compensation of pressure transmitters through a measuring and multiple programming system that enables the acquisition of signals on a single computer for up to 16 simultaneous transmitters, improving the overall process time, allowing to perform this operation for a production of industrial level. The total process time of compensation and calibration of more than one transmitter has been reduced by about 6 hours for each additional transmitter. In the case of 16 transmitters, the system without multiplexing would take 114 hours while the system with multiplexing takes 24 hours to make the entire process, representing a decrease of 78.9% in the total process time. The transmitters calibrated and compensated using the multiplexing system have TEB less than 0.1% FS, showing that the designed system allows pressure transmitters produced comply with performance characteristics equal to those achieved by the original compensation and calibration system.

Emulation of a manufacturing process : Focusing on maintenance and operator training

Tudero, Aitor, Azkue, Julen January 2017 (has links)
Having well-trained operators is a crucial need for Volvo Group Truck Operations (GTO). Mistakes from the factory staff may cause the production line to stop, and lead to economic losses. For this reason, Volvo GTO has decided to investigate the possibility of creating an emulation model from the production line and using it to train operators and maintenance personnel. The aim of this thesis is to develop an Operator Training Station (OTS) for the OP035 of the Volvo GTO Production Line 6. In the first part, a literature research was conducted, from which the authors gained insight into related fields such as emulation, virtual environments, and operator training. After that, an emulation model of theOP035 was created using some hardware from the factory. The real PLC program was analyzed and then modified in order to implement it to the emulation model. Then, communications were established between the different parts; emulation model and PLC program. Finally, a research of the common failures and problems of the production line was carried out, with the aim of being able to reproduce them in the Operator Training Station. Once the OTS was implemented, several tests had undergone to validate its behavior. These experiments verified that the emulation model was an accurate representation of the real system and validated its appropriateness for the operator training application
