Interaktivní tabule ve výuce fyziky / Interactive board in physics education

The thesis discusses using an interactive board in teaching science (physics) in the second stage of primary school. The thesis is divided into different parts dealing with technical principles of different interactive boards and the implementation of these boards into teaching science at primary schools. Using special software, the author created a set of teaching materials that was tested in practice. The test results were discussed with a qualified teacher and with the supervisor of the thesis. After that, the materials were adjusted so that their use would comply with targets of the thesis and their further use would be comfortable for teachers. To use the materials in a comfortable way, a comprehensive guide on their use was prepared.

The main part of the work comprises a description of designing and implementation of five selected teaching methods and their testing on interactive whiteboards and contemporary mobile devices.

Visual Workflows for Oil and Gas Exploration

The most important resources to fulfill today’s energy demands are fossil fuels, such as oil and natural gas. When exploiting hydrocarbon reservoirs, a detailed and credible model of the subsurface structures to plan the path of the borehole, is crucial in order to minimize economic and ecological risks. Before that, the placement, as well as the operations of oil rigs need to be planned carefully, as off-shore oil exploration is vulnerable to hazards caused by strong currents. The oil and gas industry therefore relies on accurate ocean forecasting systems for planning their operations. This thesis presents visual workflows for creating subsurface models as well as planning the placement and operations of off-shore structures. Creating a credible subsurface model poses two major challenges: First, the structures in highly ambiguous seismic data are interpreted in the time domain. Second, a velocity model has to be built from this interpretation to match the model to depth measurements from wells. If it is not possible to obtain a match at all positions, the interpretation has to be updated, going back to the first step. This results in a lengthy back and forth between the different steps, or in an unphysical velocity model in many cases. We present a novel, integrated approach to interactively creating subsurface models from reflection seismics, by integrating the interpretation of the seismic data using an interactive horizon extraction technique based on piecewise global optimization with velocity modeling. Computing and visualizing the effects of changes to the interpretation and velocity model on the depth-converted model, on the fly enables an integrated feedback loop that enables a completely new connection of the seismic data in time domain, and well data in depth domain. For planning the operations of off-shore structures we present a novel integrated visualization system that enables interactive visual analysis of ensemble simulations used in ocean forecasting, i.e, simulations of sea surface elevation. Changes in sea surface elevation are a good indicator for the movement of loop current eddies. Our visualization approach enables their interactive exploration and analysis. We enable analysis of the spatial domain, for planning the placement of structures, as well as detailed exploration of the temporal evolution at any chosen position, for the prediction of critical ocean states that require the shutdown of rig operations. We illustrate this using a real-world simulation of the Gulf of Mexico.

Com o crescente aumento do número de dispositivos móveis no mercado, surge a possibilidade dos usuários carregarem consigo diversos livros em formato digital. Estes livros, originalmente desenvolvidos para outros formatos, apresentam vícios, e em alguns casos falhas, que prejudicam e confundem o usuário. Por este motivo surgem os livros digitais interativos, que nada mais são do que livros projetados especificamente para estes dispositivos móveis. Mas junto com estes produtos surgem dúvidas a respeito de quais embasamentos devem ser utilizados. Neste contexto, a presente pesquisa analisa se os conhecimentos relacionados a experiência do usuário, ao design de interação, ao design de informação, e ao design de interface, vinculados as bases teóricas utilizadas para o desenvolvimento de livros impressos, jornais/revistas digitais e aplicativos, podem orientar o processo de projeto e desenvolvimento de livros digitais interativos. O resultado desta analise permite realizar um levantamento, e consequentemente criar um guia de diretrizes que servirá como embasamento para o futuros desenvolvimento de livros digitais interativos. / The increasing number of mobile devices on the market, arises the possibility for users to carry several books in a digital format. These books, originally developed for other formats, have addictions, and in some cases failures, that hinder and confuse the user. In this scenario arise the interactive digital books, which are nothing more than books designed specifically for these mobile devices. But along with these products new doubts show up. In this context, the present study examines whether the knowledge related to the user experience, the interaction design, the information design, and interface design, tied the theoretical bases used for the development of printed books, newspapers / magazines and digital applications can guide the process of design and development of interactive digital books. The result of this analysis allows to conduct this work, and thus create guidelines that will serve as basis for the future development of interactive digital books.

A reflexão sobre este processo e sua trajetória, são fatores determinantes para entender a configuração de sua poética como a de um artista ativista, evidenciando os aspectos relacionais às questões materiais e processuais. Consideramos neste sentido, a interação entre suas obras anteriores, que transitam entre o universo da arte postal e do livro de artista, até o seu ingresso na academia e a transformação daí ocorrida através da potencialização de sua metodologia de trabalho. A interação proporcionada pela pesquisa modificou a hipótese inicial, a tal ponto, de gerar mudanças significativas na estrutura deste trabalho. A partir das ações vivenciadas, foi possível identificar poéticas que fazem uso de sistemas híbridos de produção. A construção de trabalhos sob estas premissas corroboraram e direcionaram para que tenhamos como perspectiva, o aprofundamento de questões relativas às metodologias colaborativas, onde os problemas relacionados à matéria sugerem procedimentos autônomos e independentes; ora individuais, ora colaborativos; de interação e não lineares; envolvidos por fatores não necessariamente pertencentes ao universo plástico, constituindo-se em processos essencialmente híbridos, múltiplos, tanto sob a ótica do cruzamento de sistemas, quanto da relação de produção material entre diferentes áreas de conhecimento. / This work presents the study and the questioning of plastic production of this artistresearcher, offering the reader, a common thread that runs through the path between the origins and developments of the so-called activist art, engaged, or political art. Reflection on this process and its history, are key factors to understand the configuration of his poetic as that of an activist artist, showing the relational aspects to substantive and procedural issues. We consider in this regard, the interaction between his earlier works, traveling through the world of mail art and the artist book, until his admission to the academy and the transformation that took place there through the enhancement of its working methods. The interaction provided by the research changed the initial hypothesis, to the point of generating significant changes in the structure of this work. From the experienced actions, were identified poetic that make use of hybrid production systems. The construction work under these corroborated and directed premises so that we have as perspective, the deepening of issues related to collaborative methodologies, where problems related to the matter suggest autonomous and independent procedures; sometimes individual, sometimes collaborative; and nonlinear interaction; surrounded by factors not necessarily belonging to the plastic universe, thus becoming essentially hybrid processes, multiple, both from the perspective of systems crossing, as the ratio of production material between different areas of knowledge

A análise da organização tópica leva em consideração a identificação e delimitação de segmentos tópicos e dos procedimentos pelos quais esses segmentos se distribuem na linearidade do texto e se recobrem hierarquicamente. A maneira como os segmentos tópicos, nível intertópico, e os enunciados que compõem esses segmentos, nível intratópico, se vinculam lingüisticamente na materialidade do texto constitui a estratégia textual-interativa que denomino de articulação tópica. Tomo, então, a articulação tópica como uma estratégia de formulação textual que apresenta demandas pragmáticas, e detecto os mecanismos pelos quais ela se atualiza em diferentes usos da língua, analisando-os como fatos textuais-interativos. Os postulados da Pragmática, da Lingüística Textual de orientação mais recente e da perspectiva textual-interativa formam o tripé teórico que orienta o trabalho. Os dados foram coletados em um corpus constituído de textos selecionados entre gêneros textuais prototípicos de fala e de escrita e intermediários: carta pessoal, artigo de opinião, artigo científico, conversação espontânea, aula, palestra, entrevista falada e escrita e reportagem, de televisão e de revista. Os resultados mostraram que, como mecanismos de articulação tópica, são empregados marcadores discursivos, formas referenciais, formulações metadiscursivas, perguntas e paráfrases, que realizam, tanto no plano da constituição interna dos segmentos tópicos mínimos, intratópico, como no plano da articulação desses segmentos entre si, intertópico, movimentos que sinalizam a construção textual, relacionados a diversos aspectos do processo interacional. / In this work, I investigate the integration of facts formulativos and interactive, in the operation of the text, starting from the analysis of its topical organization. The analysis of the topical organization takes in consideration the identification and delimitation of topical segments and of the procedures for the which those segments are distributed in the sequencing of the text and is recovered hierarchically. The way as the topical segments, level intertopical, and the statements that compose those segments, level intratopical, is linguistically linked in the text surface constitutes the textual-interactive strategy that denominate of topical articulation. I take, then, the topical articulation as a strategy of textual formulation that it presents pragmatic demands, and I detect the mechanisms for the which she is used in different instances of the language, analyzing them as textual-interactive facts. The postulates of the Pragmatic, of the Textual Linguistics of more recent orientation and of the textual-interactive perspective they form the theoretical tripod that guides the work. The data were collected within a corpus constituted of texts selected among spoken, written and intermediate prototypical textual genres: personal letter, opinion article, scientific article, spontaneous conversation, class, lecture, written and spoken interviews and of magazines and televisions report. The results showed that, as mechanisms of topical articulation, discursive markers, referential forms, formulations metadiscursivas, questions and paraphrases are used. This mechanisms accomplish, so much in the plan of the internal constitution of the minimum topical segments, intratopical, as in the plan of the articulation of those segments to each other, intertopical, movements that signal the textual construction, related to several aspects of the process interactive.
