Internal social responsibility and comprometimento organizacional: a comparative study in pertaining to the state of Cearà companies / Responsabilidade social interna e comprometimento organizacional: um estudo comparativo em empresas cearenses

nÃo hà / This work aimed to investigate the existing links between the Internal Social Responsibiliy (ISR) and the Organizational Commitment. The practices on the Internal Social Responsibility considered herein were the social indications from ETHOS Institute of Companies and Social Responsibility, focusing the following points: dialogues and participation; human respect and decent work (ETHOS, 2006). This study has taken use of a documental and exploratory research(CERVO; BERVIAN, 1983). The research bibliography approached the social responsibility according to Ashley (2003), Mcintosh et al. (2001), Oliveira (2002), Srour (2003), and the organizational commitment with the authors Bastos et al. (1997), Bonavides, Oliveira e Medeiros (2006), Medeiros et al. (2005), Meyer e Herscovitch (2001). The documental research was a base for the research samples and for the identification of the developed actions held by the companies. The present research was done in two big companies in the areas of services: the sewage and water company in Cearà State(CAGECE) and Guanabara Transportation Company(GUANABARA), both winners of Delmiro Gouveia Award in social responsibility and in the social performance category. The data collection was done through a methodology of survey application divided in: elaboration of data collection, a series of ordered questions with three sets of RSI indices, and three bases of organizational commitment, where it was used Liket scale of variation from one to five to the answers. The questionnaire was answered by hand and was applied with two hundred and twenty operational level employees, divided in an equable way in the two companies. The presentation methods and the analysis of data expanded in three blocks: the first deals with the profile of the interviewees out of an arithmetic average and relative attendances; the second presents the main analysis of components through the factorial analysis which present the principal actions in RSI which produced commitment; and the third block deals with a comparative analysis involving the two companies. As instruments of process it was used the SPSS and the Excel programs. The results obtained in this research show that the internal social responsibility has a great influence in the organization commitment of the workers. The actions of the internal social responsibility which most influence in the expected commitment have a lot to do with the social index dialogue and participation, model quoted by Valladares, Leal Filho and Roman(2005); (GuimarÃes and Borges, Marques and Adorno(2005), and the model of commitment generated by these actions is the affectivity. / Este trabalho buscou investigar os vÃnculos existentes entre as prÃticas de responsabilidade social interna - RSI e o comprometimento organizacional. As prÃticas de responsabilidade social internas consideradas foram os indicadores sociais do Instituto Ethos de Empresas e Responsabilidade Social, enfocando os seguintes pontos: diÃlogo e participaÃÃo, respeito ao indivÃduo e trabalho decente (ETHOS, 2006). Este estudo caracteriza-se como uma pesquisa exploratÃria, descritiva e comparativa, apoiando-se em pesquisa bibliogrÃfica e documental (CERVO; BERVIAN, 1983). A pesquisa bibliogrÃfica abordou a responsabilidade social baseada nos autores Ashley (2003), Mcintosh et al. (2001), Oliveira (2002), Srour (2003) e o comprometimento organizacional com os autores Bastos et al. (1997), Bonavides, Oliveira e Medeiros (2006), Medeiros et al. (2005), Meyer e Herscovitch (2001). A pesquisa documental foi base para a definiÃÃo das amostras da pesquisa e para a identificaÃÃo das aÃÃes desenvolvidas pelas empresas. A pesquisa foi realizada em duas empresas de grande porte no ramo de serviÃos, a Companhia de Ãgua e Esgoto do Cearà - CAGECE e a Expresso Guanabara, ganhadoras do PrÃmio Delmiro Gouveia de Responsabilidade Social, na Categoria Desempenho Social 2006. A coleta de dados deu-se por meio da aplicaÃÃo de um survey, dividido em: elaboraÃÃo do instrumento de coleta de dados, sÃrie ordenada de perguntas, com trÃs blocos dos indicadores de RSI e as trÃs Ãncoras de comprometimento organizacional, adotando-se uma escala Liket de variaÃÃo de 1 a 5 para as respostas. O questionÃrio foi respondido por escrito e aplicado a 220 funcionÃrios de nÃvel operacional, divididos de forma igualitÃria nas duas empresas. Os mÃtodos de apresentaÃÃo e a anÃlise dos dados desenvolveram-se em trÃs blocos, o primeiro trata do perfil dos entrevistados a partir de uma mÃdia aritmÃtica e freqÃÃncias relativas, o segundo apresenta a anÃlise dos componentes principais, atravÃs da anÃlise fatorial, que apresenta as principais aÃÃes de RSI que geraram comprometimento, e o terceiro faz uma anÃlise comparativa entre as duas empresas; como instrumentos de processamento, foram utilizados os programas SPSS 10.0 e Excel. Os resultados obtidos indicam que a responsabilidade social interna tem grande influÃncia no comprometimento organizacional do trabalhador. As aÃÃes de responsabilidade social interna que exercem maior influÃncia no comprometimento partem do indicador social diÃlogo e participaÃÃo, modelo citado por Valladares, Leal Filho e Roman (2005); (GuimarÃes e Borges, Marques e Adorno (2005) e o modelo de comprometimento gerado por estas aÃÃes à o afetivo.

Hur arbetar små och medelstora företag med socialt ansvarstagande? : En kvalitativ studie på företag i Gävleborgs län / How does small and medium sized enterprises work with social responsibility? : A qualitative study on enterprises in Gavleborg

Syfte: Företag har idag en skyldighet att verka för ett hållbart samhälle utifrån enskilda organisatoriska förutsättningar. Utifrån det har vi studerat hur små och medelstora företag i Gävleborg arbetar med socialt ansvarstagande utifrån förutsättningar de har. Studien är genomförd i syfte att utöka den befintliga forskningen för vad små och medelstora företag kan bidra med till socialt ansvarstagande.         Syftet med studien är att skapa förståelse för hur små och medelstora företag arbetar med socialt ansvarstagande utifrån ett internt och externt organisatoriskt perspektiv.  Metod: Vi har använt en kvalitativ forskningsmetod. För att samla in data har vi utfört semi-strukturerade intervjuer som sedan bearbetades i analysverktyget Nvivo. Empirimaterialet presenteras i ett enskilt kapitel. Analys & slutsats: Analysen i studien tyder på att arbetet med socialt ansvarstagande är viktigt oavsett vilken storlek, bransch eller ekonomisk möjlighet företaget har. Skillnader i resultatet uppstod mellan det interna och externa sociala ansvarstagandet då det externa upplevdes som svårare av intervjupersonerna.  Förslag till fortsatt forskning: Vi föreslår att studien bör ligga till grund för forskning i större omfattning, förslagsvis med fler små och medelstora företag. Vidare forskning kan även genomföras med fler intervjupersoner samt i andra positioner än intervjupersonerna som deltagit denna studie vilket vi tror kan bidra till andra insikter. Uppsatsens bidrag: Det teoretiska bidraget utgör ett kvalitativt perspektiv i syfte att öka förståelsen för hur små och medelstora företag arbetar med socialt ansvarstagande. Det praktiska bidraget är en översikt på hur små och medelstora företag kan arbeta med socialt ansvarstagande utifrån organisatoriska förutsättningar. / Aim: Today companies are required to work for a sustainable society based on individual organizational conditions. Based on that, we have studied how small and medium-sized enterprises in Gavleborg are working with social responsibility on the basis of the conditions they possess. The study was conducted in order to expand the existing research for what small and medium-sized enterprises can contribute to social responsibility. The purpose of the study is to create an understanding of how small and mediumsized companies work with social responsibility from an internal and external organizational perspective. Method: We have used a qualitative research method. To collect data, we conducted semi-structured interviews and then processed them in the analysis tool Nvivo. The empirical material is presented in a private chapter. Analysis & Conclusions: The analysis of the study suggest that the work of social responsibility is important regardless of the size, industry and economic possibilities the company possesses. Differences in the results arose between the internal and external social responsibility as the external was perceived as more difficult in the interviews. Suggestions for future research: We suggest that the study should be the basis for research on a larger scale, preferably with more small and medium-sized enterprises. Further research may be conducted with more respondents and in other positions than those who were interviewed in this study, which we believe can contribute to other insights. Contribution of the thesis: The theoretical contribution represents a qualitative perspective to increase the understanding of how small and medium-sized companies work with social responsibility. The practical contribution is an overview of how small and medium-sized enterprises can work with social responsibility on the basis of organizational conditions.

Para tal, foi realizada revisão da literatura sobre a evolução da Responsabilidade Social Corporativa, suas aplicações no âmbito do setor público e no ambiente interno das organizações. A pesquisa quantitativo-descritiva foi realizada a partir de levantamento (survey) utilizando questionário fechado desenvolvido a partir dos Indicadores Ethos voltados para as práticas de trabalho. Os resultados da pesquisa revelaram a superioridade das percepções negativas dos servidores acerca das praticas de Responsabilidade Social Interna na autarquia, assim como o maior percentual de percepção negativa dos servidores sem cargo de chefia e com menos tempo de trabalho em relação à percepção dos servidores com cargo de chefia e com mais tempo de trabalho na autarquia. A pesquisa permitiu identificar o grupo de práticas relativas às Condições de Trabalho, Jornada e Qualidade de Vida como o mais relevante e o grupo de práticas relativas à Relação com Sindicatos o menos relevante para os servidores. De forma a melhorar a percepção dos servidores quanto às questões avaliadas negativamente é recomendável que sejam desenvolvidas ações e programas relacionados com o desenvolvimento profissional, empregabilidade e aposentadoria, saúde e segurança, condições de trabalho e qualidade de vida, e que sejam desenvolvidas ações direcionadas aos servidores sem cargos de chefia e com menos tempo de serviço, cujas percepções foram mais negativas. / The following paper aims to analyze the perception of civil servants from a federal autarchy regarding its practices, actions and Corporate Social Responsibility programs towards its servants, as well as proposing improvements. Thus, a revision of the existing literature on the evolution of Corporate Social Responsibility was carried out, as well as its applications on the public sector and inside its organizations. The quantitative-descriptive research was performed from a survey using a closed questionnaire developed from the Ethos Indicators focused on workforce. The research results indicated the dominance of a negative perception by the servants regarding Internal Social Responsibility practices in the autarchy, as well as the dominant negative perception from servants without leadership positions and with shorter length of service against the point of view of servants that occupy leadership positions and with longer length of service. The research allowed the identification of practices related to Working Conditions, Working Day and Life Quality as being more relevant, and practices regarding Unions Relations as being the least relevant for servants. In order to improve the perception of the servants on the issues evaluated negatively it is recommended to developed actions and programs related to professional development, employability and retirement, health and safety, working conditions and life quality, and to developed actions aimed at employees without leadership positions and with shorter length of service, whose perceptions were more negative.

O estudo trata da interface entre as práticas da área de Recursos Humanos, com foco no desenvolvimento de pessoas, e a concepção de Responsabilidade Social, em especial a Responsabilidade Social interna, um conceito pouco explorado no meio acadêmico e nas Organizações. Esse conceito prioriza o diagnóstico das relações no trabalho, identificando os atores-chave, as formas de gestão e a estrutura organizacional como ambiente favorável às relações em rede; promovendo o compartilhamento do saber e o desenvolvimento do potencial criativo do ser humano. Além de destacar a importância das pessoas para o sucesso das organizações, esse estudo permitirá trazer à luz a relevância da empresa como uma das principais instituições responsáveis pela formação da identidade do ser humano nos dias atuais. Através da pesquisa bibliográfica e da pesquisa de campo, utilizando como metodologia o estudo de caso na Central de Relacionamento da Ampla Energia e Serviços SA, pretende-se analisar, sobre os pontos de interseção entre Recursos Humanos e Responsabilidade Social, as vantagens competitivas de combinar esse dois temas. / Constant technological, economic and sociocultural change in today’s world has created a climate of increased competition, and staying one step ahead requires companies to invest in innovation. A deeper analysis of innovation and creativity reveals the necessity of developing human capital through knowledge transfers. In other words, achieving sustainable corporate success depends on investiments in personnel. Thesis aims to combine the subject matters of Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility in order to strategize more effectively for positive economic and social outcomes. The study will address the interrelation between the praxis of Human Resources, which focuses on the development of personnel, with the notion of internal social responsibility, a concept little explored in either the academic literature or civil society organizations. This approach emphasizes an analysis of workplace relationships, including the identification of the key actors, forms of management, and wider organizational structure, that are conducive to an empowering environment for the promotion of network relations, knowledge sharing and harnessing creative human potential. Beyond highlighting the centrality of people to corporate success, the research also brings to light the relevance of the company as a principal institution in the formation of human identity today. Through literature review and field research – using as methodology a case study from the department of customer services at Ampla Energia e Serviços SA – the project examines the intersection between Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility and the competitive advantages of combining these two themes.
