In past decades information technology has changed the conditions of organizations, not at least within the industry. Advanced IT systems have become a fact in order to cope with rapid changes in the market and to effectively manage an organization’s knowledge. When organizations became more flexible and customized expectations from customers and stakeholders also become higher. These expectations and guidelines are documented in a company’s management system, which can be designed differently depending on what standards the company chooses to implement. ISO standards consist of requirements and guidance in relation to quality, environment, energy, etc. In order to manage and work in line with these standards they are often integrated into a single management system. This thesis discusses and analyzes how an integrated management system can be an active part of a company’s efforts to control and manage business. One problem in today’s industry is that management systems are not always a priority in relation to other information systems such as production, economics and intranet. For the management system to be successful it must have priority, especially when its intention is to get the company’s employees to work in a uniform manner following the goals and visions that the management has established. To examine how a company’s management system can be more effective, a situation analysis was conducted at a middle- sized industrial enterprise. The main focus was to examine the advantages and disadvantages of the management system based on the employees’ wishes and point of view.

Fokuset på riskhantering har ökat markant sedan mitten av 1990-talet till följd av företagskollapser. Orsakerna bakom användandet av diverse riskhanteringsramverk är dock omtvistat, då vissa anser att riskhanteringsarbetet bygger på andra anledningar än att hantera risk effektivt, såsom legitimitetssökande. Det finns även farhågor att riskhanteringsarbetet riskerar att förlora fokus och leda till en ond cirkel som skapar risker snarare än behandla redan existerande. Uppsatsens syfte är att studera vilka effekter införandet av ISO 31000 får på riskhanteringsprocessen inom energibranschen. Detta gör vi genom att studera energiföretaget E.ON Sverige AB och dess dotterbolag, och hur de använder sig av riskhanteringsramverket ISO 31000. Undersökningen skedde genom intervjuer med riskansvariga på företaget och även genom kontroll av dokument. Vi finner att införandet av ISO 31000 inte medfört så stora förändringar i riskhanteringsprocessen. Detta kan vara hänförligt till en brist av engagemang från ledningen och svårigheten att förändra styrsystem samt ett behov av legitimitet snarare än behovet av ramverk.

Syftet med denna rapport var att undersöka varför en offsetpress stänker färg under produktionen av spelkuponger. Frågeställningen var följande; Vad är orsaken till att en arbetande offsetpress stänker färg från valsar och cylindrar och hur kan det eventuellt förhindras? Att trycka tryck med offsetpressar är det vanligaste sättet att trycka tidningar, magasin, spelkuponger m.m. En offsetpress är uppbyggd av fukt- och färgvalsar, cylindrar och en tryckplåt. Cylindrarna består av en plåtcylinder, en gummicylinder och en tryckcylinder. Det önskade motivet överförs via gummiduken till pappret med hjälp av tryckcylindern. En maskinell förändring utförd av personer utan erfarenhet för att hindra färgstänket leder till en obrukbar maskin på grund av delarnas relation till varandra. Det är dock viktigt att kontrollera att maskinen är rätt inställd. Genom forskning och samling av information från vetenskapliga artiklar och intervjuer konstaterades det att balansen mellan färg och fukt är instabil vilket leder till färgstänkning. Arbetsmiljöverket har krävt att färgen till offsetpressar byts ut mot ett vattenlösligt alternativ och rekommenderat att mängden ISO propanol i processen sänks. Fuktvattnet behöver vara inom ett visst intervall när det gäller pH-värde och hårdhetsgrader för att synkronisera bäst med färgen. Då pH-värdena i fuktvattnet var inom det lämpliga intervallet visade en komplexometrisk titrering att fuktvattnet hade för höga värden av kalciumoxid. Kalciumoxiderna frigjordes från fyllmedlet i pappret som användes under mätningen. Detta bekräftade även att hårdheten i maskinens fuktvatten ökar då den under hela tryckprocessen kommer i kontakt med pappret. För höga värden av kalciumoxid leder till att systemet tar upp salter som sätter sig på valsarna. Valsarna absorberar i sin tur upp mer vatten än beräknat och överemulgeras med färgen. Denna över emulgering är den främsta anledningen till färg-stänket. En ökning på ISO propanolen i fuktvattnet från 7 % till 11 % leder till att fuktvatten matningen kan sänkas med ca 16 %. Det leder i sin tur till mindre fukt i systemet och en bättre balans mellan färg och fukt. För att motarbeta en ständig ökning av hårdheten i fuktvattnet rekommenderas att oftare och noggrant rengöra fuktsystemet samt byta ut delar där salter har satt sig. En eventuell förändring för att få en bättre färg och fuktbalans är att byta till en intensivare färg och därmed kan färgmatningen sänkas.

Corporations are a significant contributor to global unsustainability. Use of ISO 14001 environmental management systems (EMS) are considered logical, needed tools for use in meeting corporate sustainability goals. By paying attention to where users identify benefit and challenges and to what sustainability ‘looks like’ an existing system can be adapted effectively. EMS Enablers were considered in the development of a Sustainability Enablers Model, for use with an existing, effective EMS. Planning Enablers include ensuring alignment of leader values, an appropriately scoped policy, base principles upon which to set objectives and comprehensive aspects. Implementation & Operation Enablers include effective engagement and reporting and operating within a learning organization. The primary Checking Enabler is operating with a learning organization in support of an effective corrective action process. Management Review Enablers include effective use of data by the leadership team to improve performance and alignment of leader or organizational values in motivating changes.

Rapporten är ett examensarbete som utförts i den avslutande delen av Högskoleingenjörsprogrammet i Maskinteknik. Examensarbetet är utfört av Anders Dedorsson Ylén, student vid fakulteten för hälsa, teknik- och naturvetenskap på Karlstads Universitet. Examensarbetet har utförts på Arvika Smide AB vars uppdrag gick ut på att införa SPS vid pressgrupp 5, samt undersöka hur väl företaget jobbar med ISO/TS 16949.  I rapporten finns en teoretisk del om SPS och ISO standarden ISO/TS 16949. Vidare beskrivs hur SPS använts som metod för att mäta maskinens duglighet och behov av underhåll, samt hur mätningarna utförts. Här beskrivs också av vad som skett vid renovering av smidespressen och vilka resultateten blev av mätningar gjorda efter arbetet. Lämplig metod för att se vart företaget befinner sig i sitt arbete med ISO/TS 16949 och förslag på förbättrat arbete med ISO/TS redovisas. Rapporten redovisar att SPS kan vara ett styrande medel vid tillståndsbaserat underhåll på en smidespress och hur företaget kan utveckla sitt arbete med ISO/TS 16949. / The report is a master thesis carried out in the final part of the Bachelor of Science education in Mechanical Engineering. The work is carried out by Anders Dedorsson Ylén, a student at the Faculty of Health, technology and natural science at the University of Karlstad. The work has been performed at Arvika Smide AB, whose mission was to introduce SPS at the pressgroup 5, and examine how well the company is working with ISO/TS 16949. The report contains a theoretical part about SPS and ISO standard ISO/TS 16949. It also describes how SPS can be used as a method for measuring machine condition and maintenance needs, and how the test's are carried out. It describes what has happened in the renovation of the forging press, and the results of measurements made after the renovation work was done. An appropriate method is presented to be able to see where the company is in its work with ISO/TS 16949 and suggestions for improved work with ISO/TS is suggested. The report shows that the SPS can be used as a guideline in condition-based maintenance of a forging press and how the company can improve its work with ISO/TS 16949.
