The main target of this master’s thesis is to introduce the reader with the spectrum analyzer, Agilent N1996A CSA. This work explains all the functions of this measuring instrument, control elements and presents some technical parameters. The next part of this thesis deals with the measurement of coaxial cables, so that is why a whole chapter is devoted to coaxial cables and conductors in general. The rest of this thesis deals with issues of measurement uncertainties. This part contains the general procedure for the evaluation of uncertainty, followed by a practical part. The practical part contains measurement of distance to fault and return loss. Measurements were made on 4 samples of coaxial cable. At the end of the practical parts the measured values including the uncertainties and results are summarized in the final paragraph.

This master’s thesis is focused on the problems of designing telephone lines which are 7 km long with a step of 1 km. The thesis contains a detailed description of the basic parameters of metallic transmission lines. There is also briefly mentioned the issue of interfering the transmission lines. The main part is devoted to a system design of artificial lines connection, including printed circuit board design. The next section deals with a design of prototype controlling. The last part verifies the activity of implemented artificial lines.

Lávka přes Berounku / Footbridge across the Berounka

The diploma thesis deals with design of plan – curved footbridge over Berounka river near the town of Čivice. Three different options were developed. First option includes a single – beam prestressed integral construction with haunches. The second option includes suspension footbridge construction, where the bridge deck is suspended at one side. In the third option the main span is built from concrete segments. Those are suspended on a pair of steel arches. The access ramps are cast – in – place, and they are supported by round steel piers. This variant was finally chosen as the best one and it was further processed. The construction was analyzed with Scia Engineer 2015 software, considering the construction process. The footbridge was loaded with dead loads and live loads including traffic and thermal actions. The internal forces were calculated and the construction was assess to the serviceability and ultimate limit states. In terms of serviceability, stress in concrete sections and deformations were checked. In terms of the ultimate limit state, the ultimate load capacities were calculated. The steel arches and piers were checked for possibility of loss of stability by buckling. The loss of stability was also checked by the software. Finally the dynamic behaviour of the construction was assessed, especially the harmonic excitation response. Then the construction plan and the drawings were made. The drawings include overview drawings and detailed drawings.

Konkurrensen mellan företag ställer allt högre krav på tillverkande industrier idag och det är viktigt att kunna leverera med korta leveranstider och med bra kvalitet. Därför är det viktigt att ha en produktionslayout som stödjer det. En del av att uppfylla kraven är genom att ha ett effektivt materialflöde. Syftet med studien är att öka förståelsen kring anläggningsplanering och Lean production. Frågeställningen som ska besvaras i detta arbete är följande: - Hur kan ett tillverkande företag effektivt utveckla en produktionslayout med hänsyn till materialhantering och Lean production? För att besvara frågeställningen har studien genomförts på ett företag som står inför en utmaning. Företaget har problem med att få plats i den nuvarande anläggningen och behöver sålunda bygga ut. Utifrån det har en modell skapats för att utveckla förslag på layouter samt utvärdera dem och slutligen komma fram till ett val av layout. Studien genomfördes på Amokabel AB i Alstermo då modellens fyra steg testades med framgång och olika förslag på layouter togs fram. Slutligen utvärderades layoutförslagen i en viktad kategorianalystabell och författarna kom därefter fram till ett slutgiltigt förslag. / Competition between companies places increasingly high demands on manufacturing industries today, and it is important to be able to deliver with short lead times and good quality. Therefore, it is important to have a production layout that supports this. One way to meet these requirements is through having an efficient material flow. The purpose of this study is to increase understanding of facility planning and Lean production. The research question to be answered in this work is: - How can a manufacturing company effectively develop a production layout with consideration to material handling and Lean production? To answer the research question, the study has been conducted on a company facing a challenge. The company has problems with space in its current facility and needs to expand. Based on this, a model has been created to develop proposals for layouts, evaluate them, and ultimately arrive at a choice of layout. The study was conducted at Amokabel AB in Alstermo, where the model's four steps were successfully tested and suggestions for layouts were developed. Finally, the layout proposals were evaluated using a weighted category analysis table, leading to a proposal.

Dynamisk övergång för kabeldragning

The work is based on a problem at the company NKT HV Cables AB, Karlskrona. NKT manufactures high-voltage cables which are pulled through complex cableways. The cables are stiff and difficult to bend, which results in them getting stuck in the cableways. In some parts of the factory, one cable will push another cable. This can also result in the cables getting stuck.During the work, a prototype has been constructed which will prevent the cables from getting stuck in the cableways. This prototype is a bendable ball joint which is attached to the cable end. The ball joint bends the cable end into the tracks, which results in the cable following along. This constructionwas developed through literature studies, concept generation, concept screening, calculations, and testing. FEM calculations were carried out and resulted in the ball joint being able to withstand the forces that occur when pulling forward. This was also verified by a test in an active production line. The result was that the ball joint bent the cable into the cableways and the functionality was confirmed. For optimal function, a rigid connection between the cables is needed in order not to get stuck when the cable pushes the other. The delimitation is important in future development as this problem can persist without a rigid connection. / Arbetet grundas i ett problem på företaget NKT HV Cables AB, Karlskrona. NKT tillverkar högspänningskablar vilka dras genom komplexa kabelbanor. Kablarna är styva och svåra att böja vilket resulterar i att de fastnar i kabelbanorna. I vissa delar av fabriken kommer en kabel putta fram en annan kabel. Även detta kan resultera i att kablarna fastnar i kabelbanorna.Under arbetet har en prototyp konstruerats vilket skall förhindra att kablarna fastnar i kabelbanorna. Denna prototyp består av en böjbar kulled vilket fästs på kabeländen. Kulleden böjer in kabeländen i banorna vilket resulterar i att hela kabeln följer med. Denna konstruktion togs fram genom litteraturstudier, konceptgenerering, konceptsållning, beräkningar och testningar. FEM-beräkningar utfördes och resulterade i att kulleden tål krafterna vilkauppstår vid framdragning. Detta verifierades även genom att testa kulleden i ett framdrag på en aktiv linje i produktionen. Resultatet var att kulleden böjde in kabeln i kabelbanorna och funktionaliteten bekräftades. För optimal funktion krävs en stel koppling mellan kabel och kabel för att inte fastna när en kabel puttar en annan. Avgränsningen är viktig i framtida utveckling då detta problem kan kvarstå utan en stel koppling.

Global buckling of subsea pipelines with DEH cable / Global buckling av undervattensrörledningar med DEH kabel

Hydrates, wax, and other fluids forms in cold subsea pipelines which restrict flow of petroleum products during operation. This thesis analyses the global buckling behaviour of subsea pipelines with Direct Electric Heating cables (DEH) through a combination of analytical and FEM simulations. A subsea pipeline with an attached DEH cable has limited impact on the pipelines initial global buckling behaviour. The DEH cable holds back and reduces the buckle size. Strap distance and cable rotational location has very limited impact on buckling behaviour. Analytical and FEM model has in places low convergence, this is likely due to limitations in the models. / Hydrater, vax, och andra fluider formas i kalla undervattensrörledningar som begränsar flödet av petroleumprodukter i drift. Detta examensarbete analyserar global buckling av undervattensrörledningar med Direct Electric Heating (DEH) kabel med en kombination av analytisk och FEM simuleringar. En undervattensrörledning med tillhörande DEH kabel har begränsad påverkan på en rörlednings initiala globala bucklingsbeteende. DEH kabeln håller tillbaka och reducerar bucklingsstorleken. Avstånd mellan remmar och kabelns läge har mycket begränsad påverkan på bucklingsbeteendet. Den analytiska och FEM‐modellen har i vissa fall låg konvergens, troligen på grund av begränsningar i modellerna.
