STUDIJŲ KOKYBĖS VAIDMUO INTEGRUOJANTIS Į DARBO RINKĄ / Role of studies‘ quality while integrating into labour market

Magistro darbe yra nagrinėjama aukštojo mokslo teikiamų paslaugų kokybės problema. Iškeltas klausimas, kaip darbdaviai vertina darbuotojų įgytas aukštojo mokslo žinias, teikiamų aukštojo mokslo paslaugų kokybę Lietuvos universitetuose. Darbe išanalizuota ir susisteminta įvairių tiek Lietuvos, tiek ir užsienio autorių publikuota medžiaga bei atlikti tyrimai, susiję su aukštojo mokslo institucijų teikiamų paslaugų kokybe bei studijų programų (vadybos/verslo administravimo) kokybe. Darbe išsamiai išanalizuota Lietuvos aukštojo mokslo poreikio esmė, studijų kokybės vertinimas Lietuvoje bei aukštojo mokslo kokybės ir pokyčių darbo rinkoje sąsajos. Tyrimo metu išsiaiškinta, kad suformuluota mokslinio tyrimo hipotezė pasitvirtina, kadangi dauguma apklaustų organizacijų vadovų yra nepatenkinti Lietuvos aukštojo mokslo sistema bei jos teikiamų paslaugų kokybe Lietuvoje. / The Master‘s thesis concerns with the problem of quality of services rendered by higher educational institutions. It contains the question posed revealing both employers‘ viewpoint on knowledge acquired by employees while studying and quality of services provided at Lithuanian universities. The thesis presents the analysis and systematization of material published by various (both Lithuanian and foreign) authors, and tests /the research conducted, associated with the quality of services rendered by higher educational establishments and the quality of curricula (of management/business administration). It also reveals the detailed analysis of the core of need for higher education, the attitude towards the quality of studies in Lithuania and the relationship between the quality of higher education and changes in labour market. On the grounds of the research conducted the stated hypothesis has been proved, since the majority of the heads of organizations questioned are dissatisfied with Lithuanian higher educational system and the quality of services rendered by it in Lithuania.

Hands-on Building Practice In Architectural Education: Metu Summer Construction Practices

This thesis explores the position of hands-on building practices in architectural education by focusing on METU Summer Construction Practices (ARCH190), which has been conducted in the rural sites of Turkey since 1958. It is believed that the summer construction practice is a tool of education to acquire knowledge of architecture by building 1-to-1 scale constructions. METU Summer Construction Practices are examined by asking the questions of what is learned and how is learned in order to understand both the content and objectives and also the pedagogic strategies, learning methods of the summer construction practices. The main purpose of summer construction practices is learning how to build and ways of making architecture. The basic learning methods of METU summer construction practices are determined as learning by doing, learning with collaborative working, task-oriented and student-based active learning, integrating the tasks of designing-building, and learning from working with and for the context. This study emphasizes that learning by building 1-to-1 scale constructions are complementary of learning in design studios, and it should become an integral part of the whole learning process in the design education. Hands-on building practice is a productive process that supports the design education. Students are expected to derive and produce knowledge by building full-scale constructions in the real site. The thesis argues for the fact that hands-on building practice is to be more than the obtaining of knowledge and skill of making architecture only by instructions. Learning process is to be based on the simultaneous involvement of thinking-doing (taking action)-skill-production of knowledge rather than a linear process of knowledge-skill-taking action.

O objetivo dessa pesquisa é verificar se os conhecimentos adquiridos pelos servidores através do Programa estão sendo aplicados em um campus de um Ifet. O trabalho foi fundamentado nas interlocuções entre os temas gestão de pessoas, gestão por competência e gestão do conhecimento e aprendizagem organizacional, a fim de analisar aspectos facilitadores ou não para internalização dos conhecimentos adquiridos. A metodologia utilizada foi a avaliação elucidativa, observando as percepções dos participantes da pesquisa através de suas respostas a um questionário e a entrevistas semiestruturadas, além da análise de documentos e legislação. O resultado da pesquisa mostrou que os conhecimentos adquiridos são aplicados mais por iniciativa e interesse dos próprios servidores do que pela gestão, que apresenta fragilidades no que tange a ações estratégicas para um aproveitamento eficiente dos conhecimentos dos servidores. / The Staff Development Program, linked to career of the federal public education employees, offers support for continuing education by qualifying the employees to act in areas developed by the institution in addition to the salary increment after framing career. The purpose of this research is to verify whether the knowledge acquired by federal employees through the Program is being applied in a campus of an Ifet (Federal Institute of Education). This work was based on dialogues among the topics people management, management by competence, knowledge management and organizational learning in order to analyze aspects facilitators or not facilitators to application of the knowledge acquired. The methodology used was informative review, noting the perceptions of participants by their answers to a questionnaire and semi-structured interviews, besides analysis of documents and legislations. Research result showed that the acquired knowledge is more applied by initiative and interest of the federal employees than by federal institutions management, which has weaknesses regarding the strategic actions for an efficient use of knowledge of their employees.
