Denna uppsats undersöker formandet av feminina ideal i samband med statliga offentliga utredningar om kvinnors förvärvsarbete under 1930-talet, och fokuserar på utredningarna genomförda av Befolkningskommissionen och Kvinnoarbetskommittén. Dessa utredningar var en produkt av den politiska debatten kring kvinnoarbetsfrågan och befolkningsfrågan som tagit mycket plats i riksdagsdebatterna under perioden. Utifrån ett genus- och intersektionalitetsperspektiv visar undersökningen att det fanns en oenighet hos kommittéerna om vilket ideal som skulle förespråkas och vilka åtgärder som behövde vidtas för att råda bot på problematiken. Majoriteten av ledamöterna var nämligen för att kvinnor skulle ha ett fortsatt – och utökat – tillträde till förvärvsarbetet, medan två i slutändan skulle förespråka ett förbud mot gifta kvinnors förvärvsarbete. Förespråkarna av förvärvsarbetet skulle emellertid vara oeniga om vilka olika reformer eller lagar som bäst skulle uppfylla bland annat syftet att lösa befolkningsfrågan. En sådan åtgärd som till slut ändå skulle föreslås var den blivande kvinnoarbetslag som skulle drivas igenom 1939, och som förbjöd arbetsgivare att avskeda kvinnor på grund av äktenskap och moderskap. Förutom att majoriteten av ledamöterna förespråkade förvärvsarbetet så var idealet för dem bland annat också att detta skulle kunna kombineras med giftermål och barnafödande, eftersom arbetsförhållandena inom förvärvsarbetet i dess dåvarande form skapade problem i familjebildningen. Undersökningen har också visat hur kommittéerna bestod av ledamöter som främst representerade en bred ideologisk och akademisk elit. Med hjälp av sina vetenskapliga kunskapsområden och ett metodologiskt tillvägagångssätt kunde dessa ledamöter därmed underbygga de feminina ideal som de förespråkade – och på så sätt ge legitimitet till dessa ideal.

"What's feminine about the Women's library?" This library, Kvinnobiblioteket, is abranchoffice at Björkskatan in the city of Luleå, and the introducing question is thestartingpoint of this essay. To find some possible answers is its object.One way of describing what's feminine about Kvinnobiblioteket is through presenting itsobjective, ambitions and methods of working. That is done mostly in a chapter headlined"Kvinnobiblioteket", and shows how the women's perspective concerns for exarnplepurchase of books and magazines, displaying of books, the opening hours, design etc.Although the focus in the survey is not in the former kind of description, but in the interviewsbeing made during a two week long period of time with ten women at Kvinnobiblioteket(both library user and personnel) at spring 1995. The results of the interviewsthen have been compared with theories from psychological-, feminist-, literature- andlibrary and information sciences, as we11 as to former surveys and essays.The material together leads to some keywords that seem to be important when trying tofind out what's female about the women's library. They are, for example, such as:accepting, care, solidarity, sensitive ears and keenly awareness of the customers needs,commitment and willingness to cooperate. The meaning of the keywords are somewhatexpressed in the objective of the women's library, to stress female knowledge andexperience, to make them visible.

The purpose of this study is to do a qualitative analysis of the swedish television drama Fröken Frimans krig. The story is focused around a group of women that starts a cooperation with the goal of providing women from all layers of the society with affordable and fresh groceries free from contamination that could diseases like tuberculosis and cholera. The goal of the analysis is to investigate the way historical surrounding circumstances and the obstacles for swedish women in the beginning of the 20th century are portrayed in the drama. The theoretical basis of the study is based on the way in which the creator uses history and to what extent the content is historically accurate according to conventional facts. The results of the analysis showed that the drama was mostly historically accurate but that during certain scenes deviations were made from the accuracy, for example an epithet used in the drama concerning the name of the cooperation was mentioned 25 years before it appears in history. The analysis also showed that one of the biggest obstacles for women to achieve social equality was the class structures which divided women into firmly established categories in society. For example a lower class woman was offered the position as manager of the cooperations first store but she firmly and clearly declines the offer as a result of her awareness of the current class structures in swedish society.
