Společenstvo epigeických brouků aktivního vápencového lomu / Insect community structure and insect biodiversity in active limestone quarry

TULACHOVÁ, Marie January 2014 (has links)
We focused on the study of epigeic beatles living in a lime pit Černý Důl. This locality is situated in the buffer-zone of Natural park of Krkonoše - 7 km far from Vrchlabí. We used e method of falling traps. We chosed non-toxical solution of NaCl as a preservative medium because of the lokality characteristics. The traps were put on a upper part of the pit. We put traps on the three of five chosen localities. 50 traps could be found on each of these three localities. We caught 2024 individuals of the order Coleoptera. These families were most abundant: (1825 pc), Silphidae (158 pc) and Staphylinidae (24 pc). 726 individuals were caught on the locality number 0, 813 on the locality number 1, and 485 on the locality number 2. The most abundant species were: Pterostichus melanarius (529 pc), Abax parallelepipedus (455 pc) and Abax ovalis (339 pc). We found 11 eurotype species, 17 antropogenic species, and 1 relict species (Cychrus attenuatus). We computed an index of antropogenic influence (ISD) on the Carabidae species. The ISD value was 34.74, which means that beatles are influenced. Platydracus stercorarius (6 pc) was the most abundant species of family Staphylinidae and Nicrophorus vespilloides (100 pc) was the most abundant species of the family Silphidae.

Analýza geologických a přírodních poměrů lokalit postižených těžbou nerostných surovin na Jindřichohradecku / Analysis of Natural and Geological Conditions of the Old Mineral Raw Material Mining Localities in Jindřichův Hradec Region

Hudler, Pavel January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this work was to document the mining areas in neighborhood Jindřichův Hradec and to describe their current geological and environmental conditions. Mined or partially mined quarries and sandpits were examined. On the territory of Jindřichův Hradec region to the greatest extent there are sandpits, but also the quarries were processed, which are found mainly on the east side of the area. The localities have been solved from the point of view of geology, soil science, hydrology, zoological and botanical natural conditions, current land use, mining history, anthropogenic load and the presence of erosion. The detailed photographic documentation was performed at all locations and the maps in ArcGIS 10 were created. Between the damaged sites were included a quarry U Koleneců, quarry Skladka, sand-quarry Klenov. At these locations accumulation of municipal or building litter occurs. Therefore, these sites have been proposed to rehabilitate and revitalize. Conversely, we can also find sites that add value to the surrounding landscape. These are the sites U Dračice, Na cvičišti, Cep, Cep I and Cep II. We have also locations that are very promising. It is the locality Jarošov nad Nežárkou, Jindřiš, Dunajovická hora. At these locations it has been designed and recommended appropriate management.

Baron de Lahontan

Allan, Peter January 1966 (has links)
This study on the Baron de Lahontan endeavours to present an up-to-date account of his life, the highlights of his literary achievements and studies the fortunes and influence his works enjoyed during the eighteenth century. An attempt has also been made to present evidence identifying Lahontan as an important precursor of the philosophe movement in eighteenth-century France. Almost all of the biographical information available on Lahontan is found only in his own writings, and this study has consequently drawn heavily on his original volumes, published in 1703. The Lahontan bibliography, published in 1905 by Paltsits, along with its subsequent recension in 1954 by Greenly, remains the principal bibliographical source available. A definitive bibliography of Lahontan is not yet fully established, however. The recent discovery of several unpublished manuscripts by Lahontan suggests that more may yet come to light. No attempt has been made in this study to discuss Lahontan's role as an historian or geographer, although it has become evident that some of the more important eighteenth-century chroniclers used his works as a source of information for their own accounts of New France. Finally, this study endeavours to confirm Lahontan's role as a precursor of the philosophe movement in France and it examines the extent to which the great writers of that period may have drawn on his observations. Although there is considerable evidence in support of the claim that Lahontan probably influenced such great figures as Montesquieu, Voltaire, Diderot, and Rousseau, it would be erroneous to assume too much in this regard. It is more the less certain, however, that Lahontan's writings did constitute an essential contribution to the diffusion of philosophical ideas at the beginning of the eighteenth century. / Arts, Faculty of / French, Hispanic, and Italian Studies, Department of / Graduate

Soundscape, Lom Hády / Soundscape, Lom Hády

Kolcunová, Pavlína January 2012 (has links)
The concept of the thesis is based on the phenomenon of Soundscape. This term was defined during the late 1960s at the occasion of The World Soundscape Project. The image of the acoustic comfort was redefined - from the level of noise pollution to the question of the sonic environment. The contribution of the project lies in the rehabilitation of the importance of sound as a cultural and social phenomenon, which shapes the identity of the place. Since the area of sound research is very large, the theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the description of the auditory perception from the psychological and physical aspects. It's a description of objective and subjective "events", that on the one hand, it appears as a set of physical quantities, on the other side as auditory scene, which provokes the questions how are the different sounds connected, which meanings are associated by the perceived sound, etc. Sources of inspiration, drawing from nonarchitectonic overlaps ( such as poetic acoustic locators or sound installations ) are another starting point for exploring the properties of sounds. The work on a specific issue was preceded by the searching of the accurate place, that is essentially acontextual to the surrounding environment. Landscape character of the quarry Hady reminds a desert, it has a few specified sites, it‘s monotonous land with varying degrees of openness and closeness. The environment of the quarry generates diverse "soundcapes" and also reflects the sound milieu of the surrounding landscape, which becomes the object of manipulation. situation Quarry Hady is one of the dominant landmarks of Brno - scarred face of the hilll and broadcasting tower are visible from miles around, and after mining mechanisms quit, the quarry is turning back to nature. There is a natural reservation Velka Klajdovka and Kavky in close proximity - thanks to the fact grows up to thirty kinds of endangered plants in the lower part of quarry called Růženin lom. The location is easily accessible on foot or by bike ( hiking trail Velká Klajdovka - Šumbera goes through the quarry) or with public transportation within walking distance of 800m. The parking lot with 25 spaces is situated near to turn-off Kanice towards quarry area.

Impact of retained austenite on the white layer formation and its microstructure during hard turning of AISI 52100 steel

Osman, Karim January 2024 (has links)
This master thesis was a part of an ongoing project at Research institutes of Sweden (RISE) and Chalmers University of technology, studying the formation of white layers (WLs) upon hard machining AISI 52100 steel. With a focus on the nanocrystalline microstructure of the machined steel, X-ray diffraction (XRD), white light interferometry (WLI), optical microscopy (LOM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was utilized in the analysis of gathering an in-depth understanding of the WL formation mechanism. By introducing varying cutting parameters as part of the machining process, the effect of cutting speed and tool wear could be observed to directly impact the WL formation and could be linked to the thermomechanical contribution to the formation mechanism. Both thermal and mechanical WLs were observed and could be distinguished by the occurrence of dark layers in thermal WLs. The purpose of this thesis was to observe the influence of retained austenite (RA) on WL formation and from the XRD analysis the residual stress for different RA content could not be concluded. Furthermore, SEM concluded differences in the microstructure where a higher abundance of carbides was observed in the case of lower RA, a phenomenon most likely originating in the heat treatment process. Indications of facilitated mechanical WL formation for lower RA was observed but could not be deemed conclusive. The RA content could not be concluded to have an impact on the surface roughness nor the residual stress where variations were rather linked to the cutting parameters.

Proposta de uma arquitetura (framework) tecnológica que apóia o desenvolvimento do aprendizado individual e adaptativa em instituições de ensino / Proposition of a technological architecture (framework) that supports the development of individual learning and is adjustable in teaching institutions

Leite, Marco Antonio Aparecido 27 September 2004 (has links)
The majority of educational institutions prioritize the development of informational systems with an operational or administrative focus at first, depreciating the development of systems that control training and learning. The proposed architecture aims to adapt itself to existing systems, supporting the application of technologies that help the evolution of training and learning in an individual way and not only using technology as a vehicle that distributes information, characteristic which is present in most of the multimedia presentations. The paper presents a review of the literature on the importance of individual learning, identifying how the evaluations employed in a present way may have a more dynamic format in the virtual environment. Technologies which supply subsides for the creation of the architecture are also evaluated, suppressing some deficiencies of fragmentation and isolation of the student\'s learning, improving the performance of the individual learning. It is presented at the end a model of structure that will allow the integration of the approached technologies which support the development of the individual learning and which can be adapted to existing information systems effective in teaching institutions.

A Multidisciplinary Approach to the Reuse of Open Learning Resources

FRESCHI, Sergio January 2008 (has links)
Master of Engineering (Research) / Educational standards are having a significant impact on e-Learning. They allow for better exchange of information among different organizations and institutions. They simplify reusing and repurposing learning materials. They give teachers the possibility of personalizing them according to the student’s background and learning speed. Thanks to these standards, off-the-shelf content can be adapted to a particular student cohort’s context and learning needs. The same course content can be presented in different languages. Overall, all the parties involved in the learning-teaching process (students, teachers and institutions) can benefit from these standards and so online education can be improved. To materialize the benefits of standards, learning resources should be structured according to these standards. Unfortunately, there is the problem that a large number of existing e-Learning materials lack the intrinsic logical structure required, and further, when they have the structure, they are not encoded as required. These problems make it virtually impossible to share these materials. This thesis addresses the following research question: How to make the best use of existing open learning resources available on the Internet by taking advantage of educational standards and specifications and thus improving content reusability? In order to answer this question, I combine different technologies, techniques and standards that make the sharing of publicly available learning resources possible in innovative ways. I developed and implemented a three-stage tool to tackle the above problem. By applying information extraction techniques and open e-Learning standards to legacy learning resources the tool has proven to improve content reusability. In so doing, it contributes to the understanding of how these technologies can be used in real scenarios and shows how online education can benefit from them. In particular, three main components were created which enable the conversion process from unstructured educational content into a standard compliant form in a systematic and automatic way. An increasing number of repositories with educational resources are available, including Wikiversity and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology OpenCourseware. Wikivesity is an open repository containing over 6,000 learning resources in several disciplines and for all age groups [1]. I used the OpenCourseWare repository to evaluate the effectiveness of my software components and ideas. The results show that it is possible to create standard compliant learning objects from the publicly available web pages, improving their searchability, interoperability and reusability.

Läkarordinerad motions utveckling och öde i Västerås- en dokumentanalys

Mortimer, Sofia January 2008 (has links)
