Schejbalová, Tereza January 2010 (has links)
In my thesis I will focus on issue of changes in current Czech family roles and status. Main objective of my thesis is to cover essential roots of these changes. This topic was covered by me on basis of statistical and demogarfical data published in professional press as well as on individual study of independent sources. Changes in the family values are also caused by interchanging roles of men and women, their individual participation in operation, education and economic welfare of a family. These topics are also covered in the paper. These issues will be analyzed in regard of social mobility and unequality of particular family members, which influences theis social nad cultural capital, as well as consecuent ability to assert themselves in labour market. Changes in economic and social conditions have influenced family life very substantially, thus, partial task of my diploma thesis will be research focused on whether or not, in economicaly and socialy deprived regiones with relatively high unemployment, there are changes in family life influenced by disadvantegous social and economic conditons of a particular family dwelling area. My conception of this diploma thesis should contribute to understanding of development of a Czech family in contemporary social-economic and geopolitical development of Czech Republic in new millenium.

Monopson na trhu hráčů National Hockey League: současnost či minulost? / Monopsony on the labor market for players of National Hockey League: present or past?

Hladík, Ondřej January 2012 (has links)
This thesis deals with determination of the labor market structure for professional athletes, specifically the market for players of National Hockey League (NHL). The theoretical part focuses on the development of labor market for athletes and changes in rules that affected this development. In the empirical part I present a model for determining the marginal revenue product (MRP) of players. Further I determine the impact of other factors that have an influence on wage differences between players. Taking all the results I specify the type of market structure, which I determined on the basis of the relationship between MRP of players and their wages. I find out that the market for defenders and forwards of NHL is rather competitive, unlike the market for goalkeepers, which is best describable by the "winner-take-all" theory. At the end of the thesis, the possible errors in the model and data that could affect the outcome are summed up.

Provázanost trhu práce a měnové politiky: NAIRU, hystereze a reakce měnové politiky / Interconnection between labor market and monetary policy: NAIRU, unemployment hysteresis and monetary policy responses

Slaný, Martin January 2012 (has links)
This dissertation thesis deals with relation between labour market and monetary policy referring to two fundamental theoretical concepts -- natural rate hypothesis (or NAIRU) and unemployment hysteresis hypothesis. The first chapter outlines the most frequent values of the Phillips curve, the fundamental model of macroeconomics theory in the relation between the labour market and the monetary policy. The following chapter deals with the exogenous NAIRU concept which works as natural unemployment rate approximation. The unemployment hysteresis deals with the NAIRU as endogenous variable which is dependent on preceding imbalanced situations on labour market. The thesis outlines the main causes of the hysteresis: capital scrapping effect, role of the long-term unemployment and the insider-outsider hypothesis. The third chapter also comprises simple econometric tests of both particular mechanisms and the hysteresis itself based on usual unit roots tests. The results show the hysteresis using data from both the Czech Republic and Central and Eastern Europe countries (CEEC). The fourth chapter deals with monetary-political implications of the unemployment hysteresis. The practical part of the thesis is based on two hypotheses of the relation between inflation (policy interest rate) and NAIRU. The last chapter based on the VAR model outlines short-term relations between the labour market and monetary policy variables. Long-term relations are tested by both the co-integration analysis and vector error correction model (VECM). These models are examined on the data from the Czech Republic and Poland (2000-2013). The thesis also applies pooled regression estimate for ten CEEC. The results show that the monetary policy does have impact on the labour market not only in the short-term but also in the long-term period and thus they confirm the hysteresis hypothesis

Holušová, Karolína January 2014 (has links)
The thesis deals with human resources and their importance in the regional development of the Czech Republic and uses the Moravian-Silesian region as the model example. The main aim of the work is to determine to what extent the employers in the Opava region are satisfied with the level of human resources. The emphasis is on education, motivation, performance and health of employees and job seekers. In order to compare the quality of human resources in the Moravian-Silesian region with other regions in the Czech Republic, an analysis of selected indicators in the period of 2003 -- 2012 was conducted. The analysis is supplemented by the scoring method for determining the ranking of the individual regions. The results of the analysis as well as the calculation from the scoring method clearly show that the values of indicators of development of regional development concerning the issue of human resources in the Moravian-Silesian region are significantly above average. On the other hand, assessment of questionnaires in the Opava region shows strong content of the employers with the quality of human resources in the region.
