À travers ce mémoire, nous avons tenté de répondre à la question suivante : comment évolue et se module la conscience internationale dans la presse étudiante au Québec de 1945 à 1969 en étudiant le cas du journal étudiant Le Carabin de l’Université Laval. Pour répondre à notre interrogation, nous avons articulé notre argumentaire en trois parties. Trois chapitres qui démontrent à la fois l’évolution et la modulation de cette conscience internationale perçue à travers l’analyse du journal étudiant. Dans un premier temps, nous verrons comment les étudiants québécois, à la suite de la Deuxième Guerre mondiale, mettent sur pied des organisations s’inspirant des structures mises en place par les dirigeants de l’époque (ONU, Plan Marshall, Plan Colombo). Ensuite, dans le deuxième chapitre, la conscience internationale se tourne vers les pays en processus d’autodétermination. Sans délaisser totalement les principes mis sur pied dans les années d’après-guerre, les pages du journal Le Carabin démontrent un intérêt pour les décolonisations. Intimement liés au contexte québécois de la Révolution tranquille, les étudiants voudront, tout en manifestant l’envie d’une plus grande autonomie, venir en aide aux pays qui tentent de se libérer du joug impérialiste. Le mouvement étudiant se radicalise. Enfin, dans le dernier chapitre, nous verrons l’apogée de la conscience internationale. L’intérêt des étudiants se tourne désormais vers le syndicalisme de l’UGEQ qui porte une attention particulière à l’actualité internationale. Les États-Unis et la guerre du Vietnam seront au cœur des débats et manifestations et Le Carabin en fera abondamment mention. Le mémoire se conclut sur la chute momentanée de cet intérêt pour l’international, à la fin des années 1960, une réalité dont nous tenterons de comprendre les raisons.

In 2012, plasma figuring was proven to be an alternative solution for the fabrication of large scale ultra-precise optical surfaces. Indeed, plasma figuring was successfully demonstrated on a metre class glass surface. The process was exceptionally rapid but residual errors were observed. This thesis addresses this issue by proposing an enhanced tool that provides a highly collimated plasma jet. The enhanced tool is characterized by a targeted material removal footprint in the range 1 to 5 mm FWHM. The energy beam is provided by an Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) torch equipped with a De-Laval nozzle. This thesis focuses on characterization and optimisation of the bespoke plasma torch and its plasma jet. Two research investigations were carried out using both numerical and experimental approaches. A novel CFD model was created to analyse and understand the behaviour of high temperature gas in the De-Laval nozzle. The numerical approach, that was based on appropriate profiles of temperature and velocity applied to the nozzle inlet, led to a significant reduction of computational resources. This model enabled to investigate the aerodynamic phenomena observed from the nozzle inlet up to the processed surface. Design rules and the effect of changing nozzle parameters were identified. Sensitivity analysis highlighted that the throat diameter is the most critical parameter. A challenging power dissipation analysis of the plasma torch was carried out. Temperature and flow rate in key components of the torch were measured. Experimental results enabled to calculate the power dissipation values for RF power up to 800 W and for the entire series of designed nozzles. This work enabled to scientifically understand the power dissipation mechanism in the bespoke ICP torches. In addition, by comparing the intensity of the power dissipation values, one nozzle was clearly identified as being more capable to provide a highly efficient plasma jet.

Eftersom kommissionen är ensam beslutsinstans är det därmed också kommissionen som har fått utforma standarden för vilken bevisning och vilka antaganden som anses tillräckliga för att bevisa att en skadlig företagskoncentration föreligger. Förstainstansrätten har sedan den installerades 1989 haft funktionen att handlägga överklaganden av kommissionens beslut i konkurrensärenden. Fram tills nyligen har förstainstansrätten endast kommenterat formella felaktigheter i kommissionens beslut. I tre nya avgöranden, Airtours plc mot kommissionen, Schneider Electric SA mot kommissionen samt Tetra Laval BV mot kommissionen, har förstainstansrätten emellertid upphävt kommissionens beslut med anledning av materiella felaktigheter. Förstainstansrätten har underkänt kommissionens bevisning och slutsatsdragande och konstaterat att någon skadlig företagskoncentration inte var förhanden i något av de tre fallen. Det ovan beskrivna kan tolkas som att det finns en uppfattning från förstainstansrättens sida att kommissionen har varit för skönsmässig i sina bedömningar och att en standard måste fastställas när det gäller kontrollen av företagskoncentrationer. This thesis will present a key analysis and the results of our researchs on the tectonic behaviour, mainly by folding and shearing, and role, during Variscan deformation, of Waulsortian mudmounds in various sedimentary and tectonic settings of Western Europe, and particularly in Belgium, Brittany and Southern Ireland. In oder to modelise this behaviour and role, seven structural lithofacies from lenticular mudmounds to well-stratified calcareous-shaley series have been defined. By this way, our detailled maping and inventory of structures of deformation - included strain measurements of the elliptically deformed crinoidal osscicles in limestones and shales - in the ductile, brittle or shearing conditions of the Variscan deformations have allowed to define five principles of mechanical relations between these lithofacies. Two models of Waulsortian domain structuration, during the Asturian and Sudetian-II orgonenic phases, have been carried out following these principles. In both models, folding is the essential mode of tectonic structuration, eventually accompanied by shear zones and brittle structures of regional importance or due to local effects of the lithofacies anisotropies.

The main purpose of this thesis is to study why the chosen case companies, Atlas Copco, Sandvik and Alfa Laval engage in CSR activities, with a secondary purpose of investigating how the aformentioned case companies has executed their engagement in CSR and what their present focus is. Our empirical findings suggest that the case companies have similar motives and approaches to CSR engagement. Whereas their main motivation for CSR engagement derives from a concern of legitimacy to their investor community, hence the case companies foremost emphasize an economic responsibility as a motivator and driver for their CSR agenda. In addition we have observed that all case companies use CSR reporting as the base-line for their CSR implementation, which our theoretical framework indicates is a systematic approach to mitigate risk and cost, as well as strengthen their reputation. Furthermore, we have observed that the case companies’ present concern in terms of their responsibility is focused on achieving a tighter implementation between a competitive business strategy and CSR activities as well as developing a better understanding of the increased complexity of social issues and human rights questions surrounding their widespread operations.

Dans ce mémoire de maîtrise en intervention sociale, nous étudions le processus de partenariat vécu entre l'ALDI et le CRDI Normand-Laramée, deux acteurs oeuvrant auprès de la clientèle vivant avec une déficience intellectuelle à Laval. La dernière décennie est marquée par un changement de pratiques au sein du réseau de la santé et des services sociaux. Ces changements reconnus, tant par les gestionnaires, les intervenants que les familles, concernent le rapprochement du milieu de l'intervention auprès des populations cibles. Depuis la réorganisation des services du CRDI Normand-Laramée, en 1997, les valeurs véhiculées par l'organisation affirment que les usagers et leur famille peuvent influencer la planification des activités ainsi que l'organisation des services. Plusieurs moyens pour atteindre ces objectifs ont été expérimentés au cours de ces années: soirées thématiques de parents, comités de toutes sortes, recherches sur le terrain, modifications de l'organisation de l'assemblée générale annuelle du CRDI, etc. Malgré ces valeurs affichées et ces tentatives de rapprochement, l'insatisfaction quant à la relation de partenariat est notable tant auprès de l'ALDI que du CRDI Normand-Laramée. Cette recherche, par le biais d'une démarche qualitative, identifie les facteurs explicatifs d'un tel état de situation.
