Införsel av visuell styrning och taktad produktion : Skapa medvetenhet bland medarbetareToska, Yllka January 2014 (has links)
This master’s thesis was written on the behalf of Saba Frukt och Grönt AB in Helsingborg and is the final part of the Master program in Mechanical Engineering at Halmstad University. The main task was to introduce visual control and increase the rate of concept in two of the departments of the company. The goal is to come up with implementation proposals, and if possible to implement one in the near future. The author attacks the problem by using the Six Sigma DMAIC-methodology as it is a clear and structured approach. As a complement Lean-inspired tools are used. After compiling the results from the interviews and benchmarking some suggestions are made. These are reviewed with stakeholders and a discussion of how to go on further was held. Within a short time the implementation starts on one department with visual methods such as marks on the floor and an andonlamp. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, nothing is yet implemented in the other department. However the work is going on and it requires a lot of planning and preparation. Conclusions are drawn that the goal is achieved and recommendations for future work are presented in this master’s report.

IMPROVEMENT OF PICKING OPERATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT OF WORK BALANCING MODELMeivert, Oscar, Klevensparr, Johan January 2014 (has links)
Purpose – The purpose of the thesis is to improve picking operations that kit materials to assembly lines and based on that, develop a model concerning work balancing in relation to varying demand. To achieve this purpose the following questions of issue are answered: 1. What difficulties can exist in picking operations that kit materials to assembly lines? 2. How can difficulties in picking operations that kit materials to assembly lines be resolved? 3. How can a model be developed that facilitates improvements concerning work balancing picking operations in relation to varying demand? Method – Through a summary, major difficulties are identified with support of literature studies, interviews, observations and documentation performed at a case company. The collected data form the base of the developed work-balancing model aiming at allowing users to work balance their picking operations. Findings – Initially, a comparison between literature studies, interviews and observations at the case company revealed five major difficulties: lack of parts, order handling, warehouse maintenance, standardization of picking operations and work balancing. When the first three difficulties are improved, a standardization of processes should be performed in order to achieve process perfection. Furthermore, as a last step in the developed four-step-improvement-process, work balancing could lead to improved resource utilization. Moreover, work balancing the picking operation at the case company through the developed model resulted in a reduced balancing loss of 39%. Research limitations – The conducted case study is structured as a holistic single case study. Since companies differ it would be appropriate to conduct multiple case studies in order to generalize results. Furthermore, the authors want to expand the extensive literature studies to identify all difficulties and alternative solutions. Nevertheless, this is not achieved in relation to the scale of the work and time limitations. Further research – If performing a similar investigation other factors need to be taken into consideration regarding gathering of time studies such as lack of parts, picking errors, deficiencies and other interruptions, this in order to acquire a accurate company reflection due to more precise measurements. Key words – Lean production, work balancing, kitting, improvements, standardization, picking operation, varying demand

Štíhlá výroba - kanban / Lean production - kanbanFous, Zdeněk January 2007 (has links)
The aim of this thesis was to characterize lean production and kanban method in TRW Carr, s.r.o., Stará Boleslav. The thesis describes current firm situation with focus on kanban method. The another aim was to propose possible improvements. In the thesis are proposed solutions, successfully implemented in different plants. The thesis also include totaly new proposals, which can be implemented only in concrete plant. The last aim of this thesis was to find more effective system and implement new trends, if possible.

Optimering av monteringsavdelningen förfjädergunglekar : Med Lean mot kundorderstyrd monteringMinx, Sascha January 2014 (has links)
If Sweden want to be able to compete internationally with its production capacity,it is important to work actively with production development and production ofresource-and time-efficient. This report is a bachelor thesis of 15 hp conducted atthe University of Halmstad. Using the principles of continuous improvement andLean Production, the author developed a concept for HAGS Aneby AB to changeto the customer order driven assembly of spring toys.First of all, the theories of Lean Production, logistics and ergonomics are used tobuild and present a theoretical framework for further examination. Then, toachieve the target, the current assembly process is analyzed to develop some firstconceptual ideas for improvement. In order to develop the best advice, theconcepts are evaluated against the company’s requirementsThe developed action plan gives recommendations on how the company shouldrestructure their assembly process and the organization of the related departmentin order to produce spring toys in a more time efficient and lean way. The resultsshow the extent of economic improvements as well as the amount of time savingsthat can be realized through the improved assembly process. The concept could bepartially implemented in the company and there is an optimistic view of HAGSAneby AB to achieve more efficiency in their assembly process in the future.
