Motiv cesty do Itálie v literatuře NDR / Motif of the Italian Journey in the GDR literature

Dušek Pražáková, Jana January 2013 (has links)
This thesis is concerned with a comparison of works written by GDR authors Hanns Cibulka, Waldtraut Lewin a Christine Wolter which deal with the motif of the journey to Italy. The analysis is based on spatial and intercultural theories, which are presented in the first part of the thesis. The genre of travelogue, the motif of the Italian journey in the German-language literature and political conditions for the creation and publication of travelogues in the GDR are also introduced. The core of the thesis is the comparison of eleven texts, especially travelogues, regarding the spatial and social dimension of travelling. The first aspect covers reflections of Goethe's Italian journey and the function of travelling, as well as the depiction of nature, urban space and architecture and the treatment of the garden motif. Regarding the second aspect, the author follows the narrative technics used in portraying the mediators between the travelling writers and the Italian culture, as well as in the depiction of tourists or strangers. An additional question of the study is whether (and possibly how) the writers reflect on the GDR regime against the background of the Italian scenery.

Identidades polinomiais para álgebras e matrizes triangulares superiores em blocos. / Polynomial identities for upper algebras and triangular arrays in blocks.

ARAÚJO, Laise Dias Alves. 13 August 2018 (has links)

In this dissertation we study elementary (or good) gradings in upper block triangular matrix algebras and the corresponding graded polynomial identities. An elementary grading by a group G on the algebra A = UT(α1, α2, ..., αr) of upper block triangular matrices is determined by an n-tuple in Gn, where n = α1 + · · · + αr. It will be proved that the elementary gradings on A determined by two n-tuples in Gn are isomorphic if and only if the n-tuples are in the same orbit in the canonical bi-action on Gn with the group Sα1 × · · · × Sαr acting on the left and the group G acting on the right. These results will be used to prove that under suitable hypothesis (for example if the group G has prime order) two upper block triangular matrix algebras, graded by the group G, satisfy the same graded identities if and only if they are isomorphic (as graded algebras).

Řízení změny a související vliv na oblast IS/ICT / Change management and related influence on IS/ICT

Kroupa, Filip January 2012 (has links)
The topic of this thesis is change management. A summary of the topic is made in the first part of this thesis so that a reader has the theoretical background to read further. In the second part, the author describes five most important change management methods. These methods are described, analyzed and compared to one another. Five hypotheses about the most influential factors to the outcome of a change project were created out of the analysis. These hypotheses cover the entire span of a typical change project and are tested in the practical part of this thesis. The practical part of the thesis relies on a thorough case studies analysis and interviews. By analyzing the case studies and the interviews, the author was able to judge the validity of set hypotheses and create a set of recommendations for future change projects. These recommendations are based on many real situations and therefore are valuable for future reference. The role of information technology in change management is also emphasized at the end of the thesis.

Regarding Music and Apperception: Locating »Sound« in Tonal and Post-Tonal Contexts

Hanninen, Dora A. 12 October 2023 (has links)
Sound and its apperception are essential to music. But »sound« and »perception« can have different denotations in empirical studies of aural perception and music analysis. To me, musical sound is fundamentally situated: a sound becomes musical when heard not as an isolated aural stimulus, but as an event that serves as the focal point for a complex apperception in which multiple musical events and various human perceptual and cognitive faculties participate. In his essay Music Theory, Phenomenology, and Music Perception, David Lewin probes the sound of a single G-minor chord through an exegesis of various contexts in which it might be heard. After some background on Lewin’s work, I develop a way of thinking about musical sound around two ideas: (1) musical sound is qualitative; and (2) it is context-dependent in a deep way – context penetrates, saturates, is embedded in, and creates musical sound. This idea leads to three others: musical sound is multivalent, distributed, and dynamic. Whereas Lewin explores the formative influence musical contexts exert on sound in a tonal setting (Schubert’s Morgengruß), I consider how this sort of thinking might apply to music outside the bounds of common-practice tonality. With its massive scale, intricate and diverse compositional design, prominent use of varied repetition, and mix of elements of tonality with Messiaen’s modes of limited transposition and atonal materials, Messiaen’s Vingt Regards sur l’Enfant-Jésus (1944) is an apt environment in which to consider the possibilities.

Balancing Internal Controls with Change Management in the Pacific Military Unit

Mefford, Miriam Seveses 01 January 2018 (has links)
Federal government managers were advised to strengthen internal controls; the law dictates attestation of effective management controls, and the internal control program is used to detect risks. However, managers lacked preparatory training, with training being overlooked given the increased responsibilities. Managers are assigned the programmatic role regardless of the lack of program standards in knowledge, skill, and ability. The research questions addressed change management components, concepts, and core qualifications relative to program readiness. The purpose of this single case study was to identify and explore change management components contributing to the effectiveness of internal controls. The conceptual framework was based on Lewin's change concepts of unfreezing, moving or changing, and refreezing phases with the inverse principle in field theory. Thirteen professionals from the pacific military unit in Hawaii participated in semistructured interviews. Inductive coding was used to thematically analyze the data. The key results of the emerged themes illustrated how: organization skillset was used for linking change components to internal controls, assessment was a tool used for transforming a manager's concept, and experience was essential in leading change core qualifications. Significance of the study was the promotion of stronger measures in preventing fraud, waste, and mismanagement of limited resources. The research results could inspire social change by increasing communication and collaboration to benefit senior leaders, and financial and program managers. The value-added training concepts and leadership innovation, and how managing change relates to internal control could lead to program success thus benefiting all primary stakeholders.
