Syftet med detta projekt är att sätta samhället i fokus. Att skapa en hybridbyggnad där olika aktiviteter kan ske under samma tak var kärnan i tesen. Att kombinera omgivningens behov och potential resulterade i en oväntad men till synes fungerande mix. Detta livliga offentliga centrum fungerar som ett knutpunkt för flera aktiviteter och erbjuder ett brett utbud av bekvämligheter och faciliteter för att möta behoven i grannskapet såväl som förbipasserande. En mjölkvarn, restauranger, kontor, utomhusytor och mötesrum ingår i centrum, vilket skapar en levande och välkomnande miljö för en rad aktiviteter och interaktioner. Denna byggnad representerar behovet och potentialen. Att sätta Lidatorp på kartan och göra det till ett nav mellan Nynäshamn och Ösmo. Att ge Lidatorpsborna en offentlig plats. Att göra det lönsamt och utnyttja den potential som omgivningen ger, använd åkern och gör en mjölkvarn med stödjande faciliteter som restaurang och matlagningskurser. / The purpose of this project is to put the community in focus. Creating a hybrid building where different activities can take place under one roof was the core of the thesis. Combining the needs and the potential of the surroundings resulted in an unexpected yet seemingly working mix. This lively public center serves as a multipurpose hub and provides a wide array of amenities and facilities to meet the needs of the neighborhood as well as the bypassers. A flour mill, restaurants, offices, outdoor areas, and meeting rooms are all included in the center, which creates a vibrant and welcoming environment for a range of activities and interactions. This building represents the need and the potential. To put Lidatorp on the map, making it a hub in between Nynäshamn and Ösmo. To give the people of Lidatorp a public place. To make it profitable and use the potential the surroundings give, use the field and make a flour mill with supporting facilities like a restaurant and cooking classes.

Dis - ett hus för folket, bildar tillsammans med sin trädgård en plats tänkt att ge välbefinnande till både människa och natur. Projektet är beläget strax utanför Nynäshamn  i Lidatorp, precis intill sjön Älvviken. Under höstens grupparbete identifierades Lidatorp som en samlingspunkt för hälso- och miljörisker utövade av industri och transport i närområdet. Lidatorp var även i stort behov av gemensamma rum, då all bebyggelse bestod av privata småhus. Därför ämnar byggnaden och dess trädgård till att förbättra ekologiska och sociala förhållanden på platsen. Genom att skapa ett samspel mellan allmänhet, föreningsverksamhet och natur bidrar projektet till biologisk mångfald, rekreation, kunskap och lokal sammanhållning.  Under historien har trädgården spelat en viktig roll både för människa och natur. Människor har genom trädgården kunnat känna närhet till naturen och har genom att försöka styra den även fått utlopp för sin kreativitet. Stora rekreativa och estetiska värden kan utvinnas ur en trädgård som ger livskvalitet och välbefinnande. Samtidigt har naturen mycket att vinna på människans intresse av att skapa en trädgård, då de ofta är artrika och skapar boplatser för växter och djur. Olika livsmiljöer som rymmer en variation av arter har blivit återskapade i denna trädgård, dels som ett bidrag till den biologiska mångfalden men också med en förhoppning om att genom en pedagogisk gestaltning väcka ett engagemang och intresse kring detta. De aktiviteter en trädgård kan innebära är utgångspunkten för de funktioner som byggnaden rymmer. En trädgård möjliggör utlopp för kreativitet, produktion, naturvårdsintressen och rekreation. Därför har det skapats rum för just detta som ateljéer, växthus och bibliotek samt trädgården som föreningsmedlemmar tar hand om och besökare får ta del av. Byggnadens gestaltning är en undersökning i hur traditionella designstrategier för trädgårdar kan appliceras på en byggnad för att den ska bli mer energieffektiv samt få högre upplevelsevärden. Identifierade strategier som bland annat vindskydd, värmesamlare och variation vertikalt och horisontellt har tagit ny form i det byggda. Genom att utformas efter naturens villkor baseras även byggnadens användning i linje med säsongerna. Därför är endast de rum som är tänkta att användas året runt fullt uppvärmda. Rummen varierar från stängda och intima till öppna och exponerade inspirerat av att i den svenska naturen växelvis befinna sig i täta skogsdungar och öppna fält. Husets mest framträdande material är korrugerad plast som med sin translucens skapar ett diffust ljust och hintar om naturen utanför. Samtidigt sprider sig växtligheten inåt byggnaden genom öppningar och atrium. Rörelsen genom husets olika skikt tar en stegvis närmare till det utanför som allt kretsar kring, trädgården. / Dis - a house for the people, forms together with its garden a place intended to provide well-being to both people and nature. The project is located just outside Nynäshamn in Lidatorp, right next to lake Älvviken. During the autumn's group project, Lidatorp was identified as a focal point for health and environmental risks posed by industry and transport in the immediate area. Lidatorp was also in great need of common rooms, as all buildings currently consist of private detached houses. Therefore, the building and its garden aim to improve ecological and social conditions on the site. By creating an interaction between the public, association activities and nature, the project contributes to biological diversity, recreation, knowledge and local cohesion. Throughout history, the garden has played an important role for both man and nature. Through the garden, people have been able to feel close to nature and at the same time be able to use their creativity by controlling it. Great recreational and aesthetic values can be extracted from a garden that provides quality of life and well-being. At the same time, nature has much to gain from the human interest in creating a garden, as they are often rich in species and create habitats for plants and animals. Different habitats that contain a variety of species have been recreated in this garden partly as a contribution to biological diversity but also with the hope of arousing commitment and interest in this through an educational design. The activities a garden can involve are the starting point for what functions the building accommodates. A garden enables an outlet for creativity, production, conservation interests and recreation. Therefore, rooms have been created for just this, such as studios, a greenhouse and a library, as well as the garden that association members take care of and visitors can take part in. The design of the building is an investigation into how traditional design strategies for gardens can be applied to a building to make it more energy efficient and have higher experience values. Identified strategies such as wind protection, heat collectors and variation vertically and horizontally have taken new shape in the built. By being designed according to the conditions of nature, the use of the building is also based in line with the seasons. Therefore, only the rooms that are meant to be used all year round are fully heated. The rooms vary from closed and intimate to open and exposed, inspired by being alternately in dense forests and open fields in the Swedish nature. The house's most prominent material is corrugated plastic, which with its translucency creates a diffused light and hints at nature outside. At the same time, the vegetation spreads into the building through openings and atriums. The movement through the different layers of the house takes you step by step closer to the outside that everything revolves around, the garden.

I en analys av Lidatorp, en mindre tätort i Nynäshamns komun, kom man fram till att aktivering av de kringliggande naturområde för rekreativa ändamål skulle ha en positiv inverkan på samhället både i form av välbefinnande och motion samt attraktion till området från regionen. Området runt Lidatorp-Björsta har på många sätt potential för friluftsaktivitet samt fungera som nod i ett större friluftssammanhang. Här passerar bland annat Sörmlandsleden och även föreningar såsom Ösmoscoutkår, Friluftsfrämjandet och Nynäshamns Brukshundsklubb saknar egna lokaler samt ett aktivt engagemang för sporter som klättring och paddling gör att ett center för friluftsliv och motion skulle vara ett önskat tillägg till området. Projektet ska bidra till att ge lokala medborgare, scouter, skolelever och sportintresserade nya möjligheter till ett aktivt friluftsliv i skolan eller fritiden. Ett klassrum i skogen samt en redskapsbank med cyklar, tält, camping utrustning, stormkök, kanoter, flytvästar etc. ska tillgängliggöra naturen och rörelse till fler. Mötesrum och lokaler för föreningsverksamhet ligger i anslutning för att göra byggnaden till en plats fylld av aktivitet hela dagen. Centret är menat att bli ett uppskattat utflyktsmål som vill främja intresset för att vistas och motionera i naturen strategiskt placerad med anknytning till pendeltåg från Stockholm och buss från Nynäshamn och Ösmo. Gestaltningen har präglats av att försöka tackla en svår terräng men samtidigt ha en försiktighet till landskap och natur där byggnaden ska relatera till och samspela. Programmet har styrt layouten av planen med huvudaktiviteterna som klättercentret (som öppnar upp för klättring på berghäll inomhus), kanothuset och samlingslokalerna som huvudnoder där terrängen både skapat utmaningar och möjligheter.  En annan huvudidé vid gestaltningen har varit att bevara en sorts känsla av en traditionell friluftsstuga trots ett stort program. Genom att leka med tanken om flera stugor sammansvetsade i en rad som sedan krängts och vridits till att följa terrängen likt en stig, har de skilda aktiviteterna i byggnaden länkats samman. Denna slingrande byggnadskropp har sedan lyfts upp på ben likt en varelse som vandrar uppför sluttningen den står på. Detta möjliggör för rumsligheter runt om och under byggnaden samt uppfyller önskan om varsamheten till landskap och natur. Den struktur som lyfter upp byggnadskroppen har inspirerats av de temporära surrade strukturer som oftast dyker upp vid scout- och friluftssammanhang där rep och slanor (stockar) brukas för att konstruera diverse sovplatser, torn, broar, matplatser och byggnadsverk. / In an analysis of Lidatorp, a smaller settlement in Nynäshamn municipality, it was concluded that activation of the surrounding nature area for recreational purposes would have a positive impact on society both in terms of well-being and exercise as well as regional attraction. The region around Lidatorp-Björsta exhibits significant potential for outdoor activities and can serve as a node within a larger sports and outdoor context. Notably, the presence of Sörmlandsleden and local associations such as Ösmoscoutkår, Friluftsfrämjandet, and Nynäshamns Brukshundsklubb, lacking their own premises, along with an active commitment to sports like climbing and paddling, underscores the need for a dedicated center for outdoor life and exercise in the area. This proposed project aims to provide local citizens, scouts, school students, and sports enthusiasts with new opportunities for active outdoor lifestyles during both school hours and leisure time. A classroom in the forest and an equipment bank stocked with bicycles, tents, camping equipment, canoes, life jackets, etc. will make nature and sports available to more people. The presence of adjacent meeting rooms and spaces for association activities enhances the vibrancy of the building, ensuring a constant buzz of activity throughout the day. The strategic location of the center, with convenient connections to commuter trains from Stockholm and buses from Nynäshamn and Ösmo, aims to establish it as a popular destination for excursions, promoting interest in outdoor activities and exercise in nature. The design has been characterized by trying to tackle a difficult terrain but at the same time being cautious towards the existing landscape and nature. The layout of the plan has been influenced by the program's requirements, with key activities such as the climbing center (providing indoor bouldering), the canoe house, and the meeting rooms serving as primary nodes that respond to both challenges and opportunities presented by the terrain. Furthermore, an important design principle has been to evoke the atmosphere of a traditional cabin despite the large-scale program. By conceptualizing the building as a series of interconnected cabins, adapted and contoured to mimic a forest trail, the distinct activities within the facility are seamlessly linked. This winding body is elevated on legs not unlike a creature ascending the slope it stands on. This allows for spaciousness around and under the building and fulfills the desire for cautiousness towards the surrounding landscape and nature. The framework that suspends the building is inspired by the temporary lashed structures commonly found in scouting and outdoor contexts where ropes and logs are utilized to construct various shelters, towers, bridges, dining areas, and structures.
