O presente trabalho é um estudo de caso do CEEJA Dona Clara Mantelli, por possuir uma proposta curricular singular na cidade de São Paulo. A importância da Biologia para a formação do cidadão é parte essencial do trabalho. O objetivo principal dessa investigação foi o de analisar se os estudantes da educação de jovens e adultos dessa proposta metodológica de ensino diferenciada de ensino supletivo podem atingir níveis cognitivos mais complexos de aprendizado dos conteúdos da disciplina Biologia. A sequência metodológica consistiu de três momentos. No primeiro Momento foram entrevistados quarenta e três alunos que cursavam o ensino médio em 2010 e responderam ao primeiro instrumento de pesquisa que atingia questões relativas ao conhecimento da clientela da escola, sua relação com o currículo e a disciplina Biologia. Ainda nesse momento, houve a entrevista com o Dirigente da escola que respondeu sobre a comunidade escolar. O enfoque do segundo momento foi dirigido às professoras e a visão sobre o currículo. O terceiro Momento aconteceu em 2011 e procurou se aproximar dos diferentes níveis cognitivos que quarenta e oito alunos poderiam atingir frente aos vinte conteúdos de Biologia que foram previamente selecionados. As principais conclusões apontaram para o significado da alfabetização em Biologia na vida do aluno jovem e adulto que participou desse programa, entre elas que a concepção desse curso ainda é antropocêntrica, embora os cursos da atualidade estejam preocupados em se dirigir para uma visão mais ecocêntrica da Biologia. O espaço de leitura se mostrou essencial para o desenvolvimento do autodidatismo desse modelo de curso. A disciplina Biologia favorece a inserção do sujeito na vida cidadã e contribui para seus direitos humanos sejam assegurados. As oficinas de Biologia se mostraram eficientes com os três temas selecionados: Botânica, microscopia e Genética, possibilitando aos alunos durante o processo, atingir níveis cognitivos mais complexos de compreensão sobre os assuntos da disciplina. / The present work is a case study of CEEJA \"Dona Clara Mantelli\" for possessing a singular curriculum proposal in the city of São Paulo. The importance of biology to the formation of the citizen is an essential part of the job. The main purpose of this research was to examine whether students of education of young people and adults of this methodological proposal of supplementary education can achieve differentiated levels more complex cognitive learning Biology discipline content. Methodological sequence consisted of three moments. At the first moment were interviewed forty-three students who attended high school in 2010 and responded to the first survey instrument that was issues relating to knowledge of the clientele, its relationship with the school curriculum and discipline biology. Still at that moment, there was the interview with the head of school who responded about the school community. The focus of the second moment was directed at teachers and the insight into the curriculum. The third moment happened in 2011 and sought to bring the different cognitive levels that forty-eight students can reach facing twenty biology contents that were previously selected. The main conclusions pointed to the significance of literacy in biology on young and adult students who participated in this program, including the design of this course is still anthropocentric, although today\'s courses are concerned about heading to an ecocentric view of biology. The reading area proved essential to the development of this autodidacticism model of course. The Biology discipline encourages the insertion of the subject in civic life and contributes that their human rights will be insured. The workshops Biology proved efficient with the three selected topics: botany, microscopy and Genetics, enabling students during the process, achieve more complex cognitive levels of understanding on matters of discipline.
