In order to translate a text, the translator reads and interprets it according different factors. This interpretation guides all the writing work of the text into the language it will be translated. In addition, the interpretation will be the result of the translator’s world conception, which is inevitably associated with the factors that constitute him as a subject: the beliefs and values of the society and the time in which he/she lives, and his/her own life experience, beliefs and values. So, under the influence of these factors, the translator writes him/herself in the text produced and this inscription is the main topic of this research. Based on Jacques Derrida’s deconstruction, on the remainder (linked with translation by Lawrence Venuti) and on Maria Paula Frota’s singularity, the aim of this work is to study the translator’s inscriptions on his/her work. These inscriptions will be analyzed from the theory point of view and I will also present the ideas of the translator Maria Lenita Rímoli Esteves about her practice, which are important because the translator is not considered to be “invisible” anymore, but a part of the translation process. Furthermore, I intend to verify the way in which these inscriptions are perceived in one of her works, a Portuguese translation of The lord of the rings, by John Ronald Ruel Tolkien.

Defesa: Curitiba, 29/09/2016 / Inclui referências : f. 139-141 / Resumo: The present work reports on the results of experimental investigations about the structural and the electrical properties of bismuth (Bi) and manganese (Mn) compound films with different relative atomic content, grown by thermal evaporation on glass substrates. The structural analysis comprised profilometry, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman scattering, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and the analysis of the electrical properties comprised the obtainment of voltage versus current (VxI) curves with the variation of the temperatures. The structural analysis revealed that the films have granular structure, where the grain shape varied from polyhedral form on the absence of Mn to a smoothed surface irregular shape as Mn was added. All samples showed X-ray diffraction peaks associated to phases of Bi and Bi oxides, and the samples with Mn revealed some crystalline phases containing Bi and its oxides. The film of pure Mn revealed only an amorphous phase. Chemical analysis by EDS showed the presence of significant amount of unintentional C and O elements, the first of them not chemically associated to elements Bi or Mn. IxV curves traced for Bi - Mn films on the four-point planar architecture revealer ohmic character. From the resistivity curves as a function of the temperature the activation energies were obtained. The IxV curves revealed an unexpected nonzero offset (parallel displacement along the voltage axis) apparently not associated to either photoelectric, thermoelectric, magnetoelectrics effects, or even experimental artifacts. It was investigated the electrical behavior of a Bi film along the transversal geometry. Two of such devices presented a slight non-linearity at room temperatures, which gradually increased with the reduction down to 20 K. Two other devices presented a sudden jump on the non-linearity in the temperature window of about 80 - 90 K, and below that, the behavior the variation pursued slowly. This non-linearity is assigned by us to the effect of potential barriers formed at the microscopic level granulations throughout which the flow of electric current occurs via tunneling. At present moment it is not envisaged the nature of the mechanism that governs the sudden increase of the non-linearity. / Abstract: The present work reports on the results of experimental investigations about the structural and the electrical properties of bismuth (Bi) and manganese (Mn) compound films with different relative atomic content, grown by thermal evaporation on glass substrates. Over the last years, a great number of papers have been written focusing on the part translators and interpreters play in literature and in the movies, but not many have concentrated on the proofreader's role. And precisely on the borderline between reality and fiction, we find proofreader-detective Daniel Hernández, the central character of this research, since his creator, author Rodolfo Walsh (proofreader, translator, essayist, and eventually, political activist), takes him out of the real world and plants him in the fictional. The scope of this paper, therefore, is to analyze the novel A aventura das provas de prelo (The Adventure of the Print Proofs), by author Rodolfo Walsh, as a metaphor of a proofreader¿s job, his tracks, his writings, and his work as a translator. Along with a step-by-step description of an proofreader¿s routine, we present the trajectory of this research: a brief presentation of the life of Rodolfo Walsh, as well as his police literature; concepts related to editing, directly connected to an proofreader¿s daily routine; the theoretical basis for the analysis of an proofreader¿s job and his creation as a fictional character, accompanied by two other characters: proofreader Raimundo Silva and translator Gallus (viewed through a more conservative or traditional lens of translation and editing) and the interpreter, Mr. Kapasi (in whose traits one can perceive a post-structuralist viewpoint); the analysis of the central character created by Rodolfo Walsh, proofreader-detective Daniel Hernández. By way of conclusion, the position of the proofreader always presents itself as more or less finished, always subject to flaws, confirming that, at least in the case studied here, there is no perfect crime / Mestrado / Mestra em Linguística Aplicada
