Design Of A Housing For Urban Artisan-Living Work

Mahmud, Fahim 17 July 2015 (has links)
Bangladesh is the most densely populated country with 1188 people per square kilometers. It has a total population of 160 million people and among which more than 16 million people lives in the capital, and that makes it one of the most densely populated cities in the world. Consequently there are huge needs for high rise housing to accommodate all those people or otherwise shift them to other place. But our country, at present, does not have enough resource to build up a newer city so that they can solve accommodation, infrastructure and unemployment problems. Thus, the only option is privatization of the housing which also has started in our country and this scenario is appearing to be more devastating. These buildings does not respect nor reflect our culture, history, society, religion, norms, behavior or community. Additionally, these housing units at final level of finishing are out of reach for the low and middle income people even though it was intended to be built for the low income group. Urban poor is a problem and an also an opportunity for this City. They are actively taking part in the economy and they are the server of the 4th class services of the society. But they don’t have proper place to live and facilities to lead their life style. Thus they sometimes choose different path of life leaving behind community values. However, they have lots of potential in the city and can easily make them useful to contribute to the culture and the society of the city. With a better place to live that will support their life style, they can easily become the keeper of their culture and crafts. With proper housing they can produce income and support their families. We can easily rely on their craftsmanship to retain our culture. Architecture should be sustainable and for all. So I have decided to work on the housing for mid and low income group so that they can stay and serve the city. It’s not only the design strategy but also the complete systematic process so that it can ensure that the end user can afford it. Our country is rich in culture, festivals, history and religion. So the design process should be sophisticated and ingenious to keep it in place. Also in our country still it’s a common scenario that most of the house wives doesn’t add to any income for the family. From my perspective a sustainable design can make that happen too. Thereafter my thesis intends to develop an architectural solution that can revive this city of Dhaka through ideas sustainable for the city and dweller as well as systemize the infrastructure to manipulate their passive income strategy and ensure a healthy communal and social life for them.

Care, from mothering to maternal work : the contribution of the psychodynamics of work to the psychopathology of dissociative psychosis in adults

Debout, Frédérique 04 February 2016 (has links)
From her clinical experience in a therapeutic foster care unit for psychotic adults, the author returns to the clinic and the theory of dissociative psychosis, not from the perspective of the theory of mental illness and general psychopathology (as in psychoanalysis, phenomenology or organo-dynamism), but rather from the "work" and "living work" of those who care for these patients. If one starts from the practical analysis of treatment (Therapeutic Foster Care) with psychotic patients and their clinical characterization, one arrives at a renewed understanding of dissociative psychosis. These theoretical assumptions then allow the author to propose a new anthropology of the family and mother, rooted in theoretical contributions from the psychodynamics of work.

This research investigates the gamification uses under a cognitive capitalism's perspective. It highlighs features for the participation engagement through subjectivity, towards a colaborative production of information and knowledge in the corporative, academical and citizen science projects. The work distinguishes gamification from game definitions, considering the environments' use and synchrony, the communication through the rules, the registry of user interactions, and the associated motivational factors. It addresses the use of gamification as work and considers the following features in the investigated gamification initiatives: the living work centrality, the subsumption of volunteer's leisure time and the production mode in gamified environments, comparing it to other existing modes and the aspects of 2.0 surplus value, the use of taylorist tactics, the control and capture of production, the tensions, surveillance, influence, manipulation, alienation and exploration of volunteers, the productity differentials, and the measuring of their quantitative and qualitative results. The integration of aesthetics and design in gamification, its influence over the volunteers' subjectivity and expressivity, the ressignification of signs and the profiles for contribution are also investigated. A meta-game is found present inside the gamifications, one that redefines its original concept under an agency perspective of a regulation for the collaborative flux of volunteers, where the self-learning and the massive participation show up as differentials. The gamification is also compared to the open science and common science definitions, and examples of its uses as a tool for the resistance or the subversion of the system are highlighted.

Défenses et résistance en psychodynamique du travail / Defensas y resistencia en psicodinámica del trabajo / Defenses and resistance in psychodynamics of work

Duarte, Antoine 21 November 2017 (has links)
Based on numerous surveys in psychodynamics of work conducted in public and private companies, in the sectors of industry and services as well as agriculture, this thesis proposes to analyse the individual and collective psychological springs of resistance actions against the constraints of work imposed by the neoliberal work organization. The clinical material of the research deals specifically with the relationships between the different forms of work organization on the one hand, and psychological suffering and mental pathologies on the other. In most cases, this material was collected through specialized interventions in "work clinics" at the request of occupational physicians or occupational health services. Through these interventions (which have resulted in changes in the work organization), attention has been paid to the concrete forms of resistance behaviours invented by workers when confronted with some methods introduced in companies since the managerial revolution. In this perspective, the analysis of the resistance behaviours made it possible to identify them as a turning point in the orientation of strategies of defense against suffering at work. The clinical facts constructed in these surveys suggest that this turning point affects electively the strategies of defense constructed to combat the ethical suffering, that is to say the suffering experienced by subjects when they are brought, by the instructions of the work organization, to contribute to practices which their moral sense condemns. Ultimately, the reference to living labor gives rise to a conception of the praxis of resistance aimed specifically at combating three of the consequences produced by the neo-liberal organization of work: contempt for living labor, loneliness and the banalization of social injustice. For this, the role of recomposing cooperation in labor appears to be the central element structuring the praxis of resistance. The thesis mobilizes knowledge in the field of clinical and psychodynamics of work first, in the field of psychology and psychoanalysis, "moral psychology" and finally political philosophy.
