Zabezpečená archivace dat s využitím cloudového výpočtu / Secure data archiving using cloud computingŠulič, Martin January 2021 (has links)
This master’s thesis is focused on detailed analysis of possibilities of implementing a private cloud and secure data archiving for a long period of time using open-source tools. It describes the individual standards and processes of data preparation, as well as the OAIS reference model for long-term preservation. From the analyzed information, a complete design of the final solution is created, with a description of the functionality and the method of deployment in the environment of Docker containers. The design implementation and the main functionality of individual systems such as Archivematica or Nextcloud are thoroughly described and also the hardware requirements and cryptographic security were evaluated.

<p> </p><p>The European Union has lead to higher collaboration between the European countries, more exchange of information and a tendency to centralize more political decisions. There is also a tendency to try to create legislations that are more similar in each nation.</p><p> </p><p>This paper aims at giving an idea about the challenges that the nations might meet when working towards higher archival collaboration within the European Union. The report by the European Commission “<em>Report on archives in the enlarged European Union - Increased archival collaboration in Europe: action plan” </em>from 2005<em> </em>states that there is a need for higher European collaboration within the field of archives. The goal is to create a gateway for the citizens to have easy access to archival information from the different member states.</p><p> </p><p>There are some obstacles for this to easily work. To start with the member nations have different cultural traditions and legislations when it comes to freedom of information. It has also got to do with technical issues such as which computer systems, file types and structures et c that are allowed.</p><p> </p><p>This paper takes its starting point in the field of digital deliveries to the national archives of Sweden and The United Kingdom. A comparison has been made to show the difference of how these countries proceed with their archival work to give an idea about how these differences can affect the wish for higher collaboration within the European Union.</p><p> </p><p> </p>

The Interface Between Enterprise Content Management and Records Management in Changing OrganizationsSvärd, Proscovia January 2011 (has links)
The increased demand from citizens for efficient service delivery from public sector organizations has implications for the information that underpins those services. Robust and effective information management is required. Information is looked upon as a resource that can give organizations a competitive edge if it is well leveraged. To address the need for more services and for more efficient service delivery, the Swedish government has promoted e-government initiatives and the two municipalities that are the subjects of this research have responded by engaging in e-service development and provision. e-Government has at its core the use of information and communication technology (ICT). The municipalities have embarked on the analysis and automation of their business processes and hence the use of information systems. Web-based technologies have created a two-way communication flow which has generated complex information for the municipalities to address. This development calls for stronger information and records management regimes. Enterprise Content Management is a new information management construct proposed to help organizations to deal with all their information resources. It promotes enterprise-wide information management. There is, however, little knowledge and understanding of ECM in the Swedish public sector. Further, how e-government developments have affected the management of information is an issue that has not been explored. Traditionally Swedish public authorities have employed records management to address the challenges of managing information. Records management has been used for the effective and systematic capture of records and the maintenance of their reliability and authenticity. While information helps with the daily running of business activities, records carry the evidentiary value of the interactions between the citizens and the municipalities. This research critically examines the interface between Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and records management as information/records management approaches. This has meant examining what the similarities and the differences between the two approaches are. The research instrumentally used the lens of the Records Continuum Model (RCM), which promotes the management of the entire records’ continuum, a proactive approach, combines the management of archives and records and supports the pluralisation of the captured records. The research further highlights the information management challenges that the municipalities are facing as they engage in e-government developments. The final thesis is dealing with long-term preservation of document and related issues with it. At the beginning of the thesis are defined terms such as paper and digital document and lifecycle it has to go through. Next parts are devoted to selected standards and recommendations, metadata, the most widely used approaches in this area, which are migration and emulation, most used technologies and the last part of this section is dedicated to security meters. The survey deals with still active projects which start at the beginning of last year. These projects show new trends and possibilities in this area. From twelve project were selected four interesting of them (ARCOMEM, ENSURE, TIMBUS, SCAPE) which are subsequently described from different perspectives, compared and evaluated.

The microfilm as a medium for long term preservation is still alive. Especially in archives the microfilm is part of the strategies. But also libraries are using microfilm until today – although it’s not a user-friendly media type and the access to information is very limited and uncomfortable.
Examples of the German State Archives and from other countries show these strategies. Standards for microfilming are settled and well accepted. In the digital long term preservation standards are missing.

Efficient digitization and long-term digital archiving of printed newspapers are building blocks that contribute towards the creation and maintenance of a collective memory for news media. Due to the large volume of digitized files per newspaper, there is a demand for their structured digitization, tool support, and integration with digital long-term archives. However, the state-of-the-art in digitization of newspapers with the open source tools like Kitodo.Production lacks support for structuring digitization processes. Such structures are necessary to make large scale projects with thousands of newspaper edition manageable and to enable a proper integration with long-term digital archives and presentation systems. Within this work, we analyze the existing problems and pitfalls of digitizing newspapers with the Kitodo.Production and propose a concept that supports flexibly structured digitization processes.

Bohuš Získal Methodology for design of digital archives Summary: This work examines how concepts and recommendations defined within the ISO 14721:2003 standard could be applied to archives in audiovisual industry and how its key components and processes relate to the corresponding structure of real production archives. A basic overview of audiovisual content formats, storage solutions and metadata structures is provided with respect to long time content preservation. The most common standards (international, industry and proprietary ones) specific for this area are discussed within the perspective of inevitable data migration process. As certain types of organisation have their archive deeply integrated in the production process and its functional and organisational parts could not be easily distinguished from the rest of the structure, the various approaches to the complex archive design are evaluated, including a brief introduction to MAM system role and implementation. The data migration to new solutions also means the integration with the existing technologies, where a rather higher level of dependence on commercially available solutions is often involved. La préservation des informations numériques et des connaissances est l'un des objectifs principaux de la création et la gestion d'un système d'information dans une entreprise. Cette préservation est qualifiée de cruciale en termes de traçabilité, sécurité et durabilité.Ce travail de recherche s’inscrit dans le contexte de l’archivage numérique des connaissances. Notre recherche s’intéresse aux problématiques de la couverture et de l’adaptabilité des solutions logicielles pour la préservation des connaissances à long terme (Long Term Knowledge Retention, LTKR). On se propose donc de développer les concepts d’une architecture à bases de modèles, intégrée et évolutive pour l’archivage des informations numériques. Pour positionner nos travaux, nous avons synthétisé les besoins d’archivage à long termes, les travaux publiés, les plateformes et outils existants et ainsi ciblé les besoins manquants que nous allons développer dans ce travail de thèse.Dans une étape de spécification, l’analyse des concepts de gestion des connaissances pour l’archivage permet d’aboutir à une meilleure spécification des artefacts de connaissances (package d’information) à fournir à une plateforme d’archivage. Dans cette perspective, nous avons proposé une extension de la méthode CommonKADS. Le système d’archivage proposé étend le modèle de référence OAIS (Open Archival Information System) et ses divers implémentations (i.e. DSpace, Fedora repository, EPrints, etc). Nous avons développé des fonctionnalités supplémentaires pour étendre les concepts d’archivages statiques vers une architecture dynamique et évolutive à base de modèles. La finalité de ce travail est de définir les briques fonctionnelles d’un système d’archivage des informations numériques qui s’adapte aux besoins des entreprises et l’évolution de la complexité des données qu’elles gèrent. Nous avons finalement proposé une méthode de conservation dynamique et une architecture appelée MadPK (Multi-layer Architecture for Dynamic Preservation of Knowledge) pour préservation à long terme.L’ensemble des concepts proposés dans cette thèse sont développés et testés sur les environnements BPM/SOA suites. / Preserving digital information is one of the objectives of the creation and management of information systems in a company. The long term preservation of information and knowledge becomes crucial in terms of safety and availability. Therefore, our research targets the Long Term Knowledge Retention (LTKR) and preservation in terms of traceability, reusability and security of digital information; and aims at proposing a methodology and an architecture for this purpose.Through analysis of existing works and projects, whose objective is long-term digital preservation, we have synthesized long term preservation common requirements and found out the gaps between existing requirements and the new requirements we have identified. Existing methodologies and tools for Knowledge Management (KM) are identified. We have extended the CommonKADS methodology in order to build connections between KM and digital preservation. The knowledge objects we have produced in a KM approach are thus better suited as inputs for the digital preservation platform.We have also studied the functional features of the existing digital preservation systems, and some main features to support a long term preservation approach. We have extended the Open Archival Information System (OAIS) reference model to establish a preservation platform, by adding specific features in order to fulfill the remaining requirements in the long term preservation area.We have finally proposed a dynamic preservation method and an architecture called MadPK (Multi-layer Architecture for Dynamic Preservation of Knowledge) for long term preservation, adapting Service Oriented Application (SOA) and Business Process Management (BPM) concepts. The proposed architecture provides dynamic features and enables us to have better interoperability between the KM approach and digital preservation approach/platform.The proposed design models of this thesis are implemented and tested within the environment of BPM/SOA suite.
