Acredito que, desde esse que foi o seu primeiro grande livro a ser reconhecido como tal por seus pares, já se pode encontrar o ceme dos problemas que Foucault abordará ao longo de sua trajetória intelectual. Procuro mostrar que a questão essencial de suas problematizações é a relação do homem consigo mesmo, com o mundo,a verdade e o Outro. Para tanto, analisei alguns textos de Politzere de Canguilhem para relembrar as questões em torno das quais o pensamento de Foucault dava os primeiros passos para florescer em sua agudeza original. Em seguida, faço uma pequena reconstituição de História da loucura para enfatizar o papel determinante das questões éticas na argumentação de Foucault. A partir destas questões, revela-se uma proximidade muito significativa entre esse livro e a Antropologia de Kant; proximidade que parece ter sido o motor de um exaustivo debate entre os pensadores franceses de nosso século. Na conclusão, fiz uma comparação entre o tipo de problema atacado por Foucault em História da loucura e o que tem organizado a história da psiquiatria,tal como esta é vista pelos próprios psiquiatras. O resultado dessa comparação é a constatação de que a pesquisa de Foucault tem em vista a compreensão dos sedimentos do saber psiquiátrico em um nível anterior ao da epistemologia; nivel no qual o saber ainda é uma interrogação nascida do espanto que se dá na ocasião em que o homem se vê frente à frente com a verdade - a verdade do mundo e a sua própria verdade, aquela que o faz se reconhecer, se justificarou se alienar no Outro que é ele mesmo / Abstract: In this work, I try to make clear the axe of 'problematisation' of the ethics on the book Historv of the madness on the classic age. writed by the contemporary french philosopher Michel Foucault. I think the central problem approached by him in the curse of his intellectual trajectory existes since the first great book admitted like that by his pairs. I try to prove the essential question of his ' problematisations ' is the man's report wíth himselt wíth the world, with the truth and the Other. To make this, I examine some texts of Polítzer and Canguilhem to remember the questions sourronded by Foucault in his firsts steps to make flower his penetrating and originals ideas. After that, I reconstitute a litte of Historv of madness to accentuate the importance determining of the ethics questions on the Foucault's line of arguments. From this questions, we discover a significant proximíty between the Foucaul's book and the Anthropology of Kant. Proximíty which looks like to be the motor of an exhaustíve disputation of the frenchs thinkers of our century. In the conclusion, I compare the kind of problems approached by Foucault in the Historv of madness and those that organise the psychiatry's history as ít is aim for the psychiatrysts themselves. Result: we determine the Foucault's researches have in sight to comprehend the sediments of the psychiatry's knowledge upon a level more profound than that one of the philosophy of science; level where the kowledge is still a question bomed from the man's surprise facing the truth - that one belong to the world and to the man too. We write here one of the possible histories of Adauto Botelho Psychiatric Hospital (since the 10th of May of 2011 this hospital is called Hospital Estadual de Atenção Clínica HEAC), located in Espírito Santo, Brazil. What matters here is not the accuracy of a timeline, but the flow of speeches and practices. Therefore, we have analysed 102 medical charts of Adauto Botelho Hospital and interviewed 4 hospital employees. We have researched the period from 1954 until 1990. During and after the research, we have discussed the following points: 1. The ways of referring patients to the hospital and how the police was part of this process. 2. The Hospital s Therapeutics, how moralizing they could be and the way they were mirrored on the patients bodies. 3. The struggles and resistances of people who lived and worked in the Hospital. Among the discussion of all these issues, we bring some short histories about the patients, employees and their lives in the hospital. There is no doubt that there are many other questions to discuss, but we write here about what seems to be more intense in the researched material / Não existe uma única história da loucura e da psiquiatria, nem uma única forma de contar cada história. Sabendo disso, o presente trabalho trata de uma história do Hospital Adauto Botelho (desde 10 de maio de 2010, Hospital Estadual de Atenção Clínica Heac), localizado em Cariacica município da Região Metropolitana da Grande Vitória no Espírito Santo. Trazemos essa história não a partir de uma linha do tempo que narre acontecimentos de cada época. Buscamos a fluidez dos discursos e das práticas em lugar da precisão das datas. E, sobre esses discursos e essas práticas, o próprio Hospital tem muito a apresentar, por meio dos prontuários médicos datados desde a inauguração em 1954 e de depoimentos de pessoas que lá tenham trabalhado. Foram analisados 102 prontuários e entrevistadas 4 pessoas. A pesquisa dos prontuários e a realização das entrevistas possibilitaram a discussão as seguintes questões: 1. As formas de encaminhamento dos pacientes para o hospital e o modo como a polícia se inseria nesse processo; 2. As terapêuticas do hospital, seu aspecto moralizante e o modo como elas incidiam sobre os corpos; 3. As lutas e resistências que se presentificavam no cotidiano do hospital. Todas essas questões são o tempo inteiro atravessadas por breves histórias de vidas dos pacientes ali internados e dos funcionários que narraram as vivências no hospital. Não há dúvida de que há inúmeras outras questões a serem debatidas, mas aqui falamos do que nos pareceu mais intenso no material pesquisado
