Modelagem e simulação computacional do Motor de Indução Linear (M.I.L.) / not available

Aristóteles Toline Giacomini 06 April 1998 (has links)
The Linear lnduction Motor (L.l.M.) has been analyzed and applied specially in electrical traction. In Brazil, it was studied very well by a few persons, the pioneers of L.I.M. were the Professors Morency Arouca and Délio Pereira Guerrini, in the early 70\'s, at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the EESC/USP. Thus, this work has been developed on top of a reduced model of the L.I.M. that was built by Professor Guerrini. The objective of this work is to continue the analysis of the L.I.M. The work is comprised of three parts: Mathematical Modeling, Obtainment of the Parameters and the Computational Simulation, with some experimental checking.

Leblanc, Vincent 17 April 2018 (has links)

Strategic drift in military-to-military relationships and its effect on U.S. foreign policy

Hardwick, Clay Andrew 10 October 2014 (has links)
The United States has different methods by which it leverages its influence on allies throughout the world. Military-to-military partnerships constitute one of the most effective methods, particularly when the U.S. seeks to influence developing nations or ones that are in the midst of difficult political transitions. However, recent events demonstrate that these mil-to-mil partnerships are not as effective as they should be. This paper seeks to examine one aspect of the mil-to-mil partnership, namely sales of U.S. military equipment through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program and the complementary Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program, through which the United States provides the funding to finance said purchases. This paper argues that the United States has continually "moved the goalposts" in justifying its FMF outlays and FMS authorizations, to the effect that the United States is dependent on the continuation of the very programs that are designed to be little more than tools that allow the foreign policy establishment to influence its partners. This "strategic drift" in the mil-to-mil relationship as evidenced through the FMS/FMF program is examined in detail in Egypt, with a focus on events that have transpired since longtime President Hosni Mubarak's ouster in February 2011. The paper seeks to demonstrate that when FMS/FMF is tied to external agreements upon which the United States is dependent - whether diplomatic or military - it creates an incentive for planners in both the Departments of Defense and State to resort to self-justifying analyses bearing little resemblance to the original purpose of the FMS/FMF agreements or to the United States' legitimate national interest in a given region. Large scale reforms of the architecture of security assistance, both political and administrative, are unlikely to occur for a variety of reasons that are touched upon in the paper. By looking at the historical, political, and military aspects of security assistance more broadly, the paper argues that if the United States wants to achieve clarity on whether its security assistance programs truly serve the United States' best interests, it will need to do so at lower levels in the relative implementing agencies. / text

Dds Based Mil-std-1553b Data Bus Interface Simulation

Deniz, Ertan 01 September 2012 (has links) (PDF)
This thesis describes distributed simulation of MIL-STD-1553B Serial Data Bus interface and protocol based on the Data Distribution Service (DDS) middleware standard. The data bus connects avionics system components and transports information among them in an aircraft. It is important for system designers to be able to evaluate and verify their component interfaces at the design phase. The 1553 serial data bus requires specialized hardware and wiring to operate, thus it is expensive and complex to verify component interfaces. Therefore modeling the bus on commonly available hardware and networking infrastructure is desirable for evaluation and verification of component interfaces. The DDS middleware provides publish-subscribe based communications with a number of QoS (Quality Of Service) attributes. DDS makes it easy to implement distributed systems by providing an abstraction layer over the networking interfaces of the operating systems. This thesis takes the advantage of the DDS middleware to implement a 1553 serial data bus simulation tool. In addition, the tool provides XML based interfaces and scenario definition capabilities, which enable easy and quick testing and validation of component interfaces. Verification of the tool was performed over a case study using a scenario based on the MIL-STD-1760 standard.

Mulheres, conquistando espaços dentro do Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia do Ceará (IFCE)-Campus Iguatu

Silvelena Alves de Araújo Oliveira 05 January 2015 (has links)
Neste estudo, o objetivo é avaliar o programa Mulheres Mil enquanto Política Pública desenvolvida no Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia (IFCE) Campus Iguatu. / The goal of this study is to evaluate the Mulheres Mil (Thousand Women) program as a Public Policy developed within the Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia (IFCE) [Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology] on the Iguatu Campus. The Mulheres Mil Program brings not only professional qualification as a proposal but also the recognition of the importance of these women in their families and communities. The question therefore is whether this goal is in fact accomplished, specifically in the Bread Making course promoted by the IFCE Iguatu campus. What significant changes could be perceived in the life of these women after the end of the course? What changes happened related to improvement of income or insertion in the work market? Was there a quest for autonomy or improvement of self-esteem and well being due to the professionalization? The answers to these questions arise from the observation of the participants of the Program of the Bread Making Course, that is, 50 women dwellers of the João Paulo II neighborhood, whose profile can be delimited as women of little schooling, responsibility for managing the home, including the financial management, most of them included in social programs such as the Family Grant and who still bring, even in the midst of this reality, the desire to take advantage of the opportunities which arise. With regard to the changes which the program brought into their lives, all of them consider the impact to be positive, mainly, because if awakened in them the desire to learn more and do new courses. With regard to those who finished the course, there still have not been positive results with regard to insertion in the formal work market. Most of them sought to enroll in new courses and one of them opened up her own business. They complained, with regard to the course, that there should be an intensification of the practical classes, but seemed to be satisfied with the results and reiterate the importance of the course in various aspects: learning, reflection about themselves, about life and the community. Finally, one can summarize that the results of the program have generated the expected impact, not eliminating, however, the possibility of improvement which always exists.

Síntese, caracterização e funcionalização superficial de redes metalorgânicas análogas ao MIL-101 / Synthesis, characterization and surface functionalization of metal-organic frameworks analogous to MIL-101

Ferreira, Ricardo Barroso, 1988- 21 August 2018 (has links)
Orientador: André Luiz Barboza Formiga / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Instituto de Química / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-21T22:34:48Z (GMT). / Abstract: This study explores modifications in the process of synthesis of a metal-organic framework known as MIL-101(Cr), formed by chromium(III) trinuclear clusters linked by terephthalate bridges. Through the use of reaction media containing a mixture of components (linkers or metals), we aimed the incorporation of different components in materials presenting MIL-101(Cr) structure. The products obtained from this approach were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, where we could observe that materials isoreticular to MIL-101(Cr) were formed, depending on the composition of reaction medium. From infrared and ultraviolet and visible spectroscopies, the incorporation of the different components in the structures was confirmed. For the materials containing different linkers, we observed incorporation degrees up to 20% for one of the substituted linkers and these materials presented specific surface areas in the order of 2300 mg. For the systems containing different metals, we obtained incorporation degrees up to 17%. Moreover, some results show that iron centers are homogeneously distributed over the structures. In conclusion, we could show that this synthetic approach was very simple and efficient for the formation of novel materials that are isoreticular to MIL-101(Cr), but presenting surfaces with diverse characteristics and reactivity.

Hassane Moumouni, Kadidiatou 20 April 2018 (has links)
A high-density SNP genetic map was constructed for pearl millet using a mapping population of 93 F2 individuals. Firstly, a Genotyping by Sequencing (GBS) protocol involving a combination of restriction enzymes PstI-MspI with PCR primers including three selective bases was used to obtain 3,321 SNP markers. Following several filtration processes, 314 non-redundant SNPs distributed over seven linkage groups were used to build a map covering a total genetic distance of 640 cM with an average interval of 2.1 cM between SNPs. The size of the linkage groups varied considerably (62 cM to 123 cM). Finally, 19 SSR markers were analyzed on the parents of the population in order to find those that were polymorphic and thus bridge the gap between our map and those reported previously. Among them, four SSR markers were polymorphic and have established a correspondence between four linkage groups in our map and previous maps. The availability of such a map may be exploitable for the identification of regions associated to some important agronomic characters.

FIREWIRE: THE NEW 1553?

Blott, Michaela 10 1900 (has links)
International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 18-21, 2004 / Town & Country Resort, San Diego, California / MIL-STD-1553 has served the flight community well. However, in recent years several new high-speed bus standards have emerged that outperform 1553 in various respects such as data throughput and increased address space. During this time, mission requirements - including video and audio - have become more data intensive. Although some of these busses were not initially designed for the avionics industry (such as Ethernet, FireWire, and FibreChannel), they are potentially of interest as high-speed commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions for both set-up and data acquisition. These busses offer not only improved overall system performance, in terms of aggregate sampling rates, but also simplify existing data acquisition system architectures. They require fewer high-bandwidth links which can serve for both set-up and data. This paper examines some of these issues, focusing in particular on IEEE1394, better known as FireWire.
