The challenge of this work is to uncover the true cause of the success of political attitudes, in other words, to reveal as a concept virtù relates to the behaviour of men who lead the politics, a behaviour that its qualities determine the positive or negative results of the politic actions to whom governs it, regardless of their personal or religious virtues. Finding results and extracting lessons, knowledge and examples to be followed, Maquiavelli offers perspectives to the ways of acting in the political scenery. Virtù constitutes and becomes effective only with the fortune participation, that is why the objective of our exposition will be to analyze the relashion between determination and indetermination that exists between this two polos that dominate the art of governing. / Esta pesquisa tem como questão central compreender o significado aplicado por Maquiavel ao termo virtù. O desafio deste trabalho é o de desvendar a causa verdadeira do sucesso das atitudes políticas, ou seja, de revelar como o conceito virtù diz respeito ao comportamento dos homens que lideram o corpo político, comportamento cujas qualidades determinam os resultados positivos ou negativos da ação política de quem governa, independentemente de suas virtudes pessoais ou religiosas. Encontrando resultados e extraindo lições, ensinamentos e exemplos a serem seguidos, Maquiavel oferece perspectivas para os modos de agir no cenário político. A virtù se constitui e se torna efetiva somente com a participação da fortuna, por isso o objetivo de nossa exposição será o de analisar a relação entre determinação e indeterminação existente entre esses dois polos que dominam a arte de governar.
