Ao longo de sua história, foram realizadas significativas intervenções arquitetônicas nos prédios tombados, com a intenção de renovar, adequar às necessidades de cada época e solucionar problemas decorrentes das ações do tempo. Porém algumas dessas intervenções foram executadas sem embasamento técnico, chegando a comprometer a estrutura física e artística do bem tombado. Por se tratar de um bem tombado, faz-se necessário intervir de maneira a garantir a integridade física, porém, esse tipo de ação é recurso último a ser realizado, quando os procedimentos conservativos já não são suficientes para garantir a perpetuação do bem ao longo do tempo. O que se propõe com este trabalho é analisar as intervenções arquitetônicas realizadas nos prédios históricos Villa Ferreira Lage e Prédio Mariano Procópio e os projetos desenvolvidos para a restauração e recuperação de elementos estruturais, tomando como base os principais conceitos que envolvem a conservação e a restauração do patrimônio cultural; as discussões contemporâneas sobre o assunto e os principais problemas técnicos e teóricos. Pretende-se com esta pesquisa contribuir de forma crítica e histórica para futuros projetos e futuras intervenções. / The Mariano Procopio Museum is one of the most important architectural and artistic examples of Juiz de Fora, also with recognized value to both state and national level. Throughout its history were carried out significant architectural interventions in listed buildings, with the intention to renew, suit the needs of each era and solving problems resulting from time shares. But some of these interventions were performed without technical background and can affect the physical and artistic structure and tumbled. When it is a well fallen, it is necessary to intervene in order to guarantee the physical integrity, but such action is a last resort to be performed when conservative procedures are no longer sufficient to ensure the perpetuation of well over time . What is proposed in this paper is to analyze the architectural interventions in historic buildings Villa Ferreira Lage and building Mariano Procopio and the projects developed for the restoration and recovery of structural elements, based on the key concepts that involve the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage, contemporary discussions on the subject and the main technical and theoretical problems. The aim of this research contribute to critical and historical way for future projects and future interventions.

A coleção de fotografias do MMP, um dos primeiros museus do Brasil, apesar de extremamente representativa do colecionismo de fotografias da segunda metade do século XIX, é um conjunto documental pouco estudado. O objetivo desta pesquisa é analisar o processo de formação da coleção, caracterizando-a, identificando os principais formatos, técnicas, temas e fotógrafos presentes neste conjunto documental. Pretende ainda compreender suas ressignificações ao longo do tempo, de acervo particular das Famílias Ferreira Lage e Cavalcanti até se transformar em acervo público, bem como as formas de agenciamento dessas imagens por parte da instituição. Como parte da tarefa de traçar uma biografia cultural da coleção, é fundamental analisarmos a relevância da fotografia e outros objetos como estratégia de construção e manutenção das redes de sociabilidades tecidas pelas famílias da elite imperial nos oitocentos. / The study of practice and nineteenth-century photographic experience allows us to unveil aspects of social dynamics, since the photo hints at the layers of historical time. The PMM photo collection, one of the first museums in Brazil, although extremely representative of collecting photographs of the second half of the nineteenth century, is a set of documents understudied. The objective of this research is to analyze the process of formation of the collection, characterizing it, identifying the major formats, techniques, themes and photographers present in this set of documents. It also aims to understand their new meanings over time, the private collection of Families Ferreira Lage and Cavalcanti to turn into public collections, as well as forms of agency of these images by the institution. As part of the task of tracing a cultural biography of the collection, it is essential to review the relevance of photography and other objects as building strategy and maintenance of sociability networks woven by the families of the imperial elite in eight.

Some of the political-pedagogic efforts of those institutions were observed in order to understand the chief characteristics of an educational paradigm for historical knowledge in museums. Thus, the analysis of civic celebrations, guides and expositions allowed an approximation of the memorial activations of museum actors, with special attention to the continuities, negotiations and transformations o the projects, particularly in their pedagogic dimension. Mariano Procópio Museum was chosen as a case study both due to its specificities, which leads us to understand the 'concert' of national museums from the countryside, and to the relevance of its collection and the intensity of educational actions developed under the Geralda Armond management (1944-1980). The Armond management in the center of this thesis, marked by the defense of institutional continuity and of the framing of the Lage family memory; by the struggle of the material maintenance of the museum, with a close approximation to the civilian and military regime; and by the search for the professionalization of personnel and for dynamism in actions. The results highlight the multiplicity and fragility of the museum’s identity formation, associated to the fact that it is a 'municipal' museum. A situation which explains, at least in part, its oblivion in the national scene, despite its expressive collection and its articulation with the school system, through the strengthening of the civic sense of its pedagogic actions. / Esta tese é uma reflexão sobre a construção de escritas da História do Brasil em museus, a partir da década de 1920, momento fulcral para o estabelecimento de uma 'pedagogia da nacionalidade' republicana, que tem por suporte o discurso museal. Alguns dos esforços político-pedagógicos dessas instituições foram observados, com o objetivo de compreender as principais características de um paradigma educativo para o saber histórico nos museus. Assim, a análise das comemorações cívicas, dos guias de divulgação e das exposições permitiu uma aproximação das ativações memoriais ensejadas pelos atores dos museus, com atenção para as continuidades, as negociações e as transformações dos projetos, especialmente em sua dimensão pedagógica. O Museu Mariano Procópio foi selecionado para a realização de um estudo de caso, tanto por suas especificidades, que nos induzem a pensar o 'concerto' dos museus nacionais a partir do interior do país como pela relevância de seu acervo e pela intensidade de ações educativas desenvolvidas na gestão de Geralda Armond (1944-1980). A gestão Armond é o foco da tese, sendo marcada pela defesa da continuidade institucional e do enquadramento da memória da família Lage; pela luta pela sustentação material do Museu, inclusive com uma forte aproximação com o regime civil e militar; e pela busca da profissionalização de quadros e do dinamismo das ações. Os resultados atentam para a multiplicidade e fragilidade na construção identitária do Museu, associada ao fato de ser um museu 'municipal'. Uma situação que explica, ao menos em parte, seu esquecimento no cenário nacional a despeito de seu acervo expressivo e das articulações encetadas com o sistema escolar, por meio do fortalecimento do sentido cívico de suas ações pedagógicas.
