Lietuvių emigracijos tema žiniasklaidoje: dienotvarkės nustatymo požiūris / Lithuanian emigration issue in the media: agenda setting approach

Steponavičiūtė, Birutė 25 June 2014 (has links)
Dienotvarkės nustatymo požiūriu, emigracija Lietuvos žiniasklaidoje nagrinėjama atsižvelgiant i politinę dienotvarkę. Išryškėjo dienotvarkės nustatymo ypatumai spausdintinės žiniasklaidos atveju - kuo mažiau apie emigraciją kalbėjo politikai, tuo daugiau straipsnių šia tema buvo spausdinama, tačiau kai politiniai šaltiniai imti cituoti dažniau... HIV/Aidsberichtgeving in vier lokale kranten in Zuid-Afrika : de Carletonville Herald, Potchefstroom Herald en NoordWes Gazette, en de Klerksdorp Record / M.C. Tienstra

Tienstra, Magdalena Christine January 2007 (has links)
This research paper investigates the functions of community newspapers in the battle against HIV/Aids. The research is conducted through studying literature, analysing four selected community newspapers and interviewing the editors of the newspapers. According to the literature, a community newspaper stands closer to the reader than any other newspaper, which means it could have a larger impact than for example a national paper. A community paper can provide information or start a debate in the community. The media can focus the attention of the reader on HIV/Aids through agenda setting. By giving the subject prominence in a publication, for instance, the media show how important they consider the subject. The functions of the press can be divided in different categories: the informative function, the press as a booster of the public debate, the service function, the educative function and the entertainment function. This study finds that not all the researched newspapers consider it their responsibility to cover HIV/Aids. The importance that the editors give to the subject and the number of articles that reaches the publication also does not match. The functions the newspapers mainly fulfil, are the information and education function. The reasons for a moderate coverage of HIV/Aids include a lack of statistics, a lack of information from organisations, staff shortages and fear that the reader will receive the opinion that the newspaper writes about the same things over and over again. / Mini-dissertation (M.A. (Communication Studies))--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2007.

Frivillig hållbarhetsinformation i årsredovisningar : En undersökning av informationens kvalitet

Nystén, Lovisa, Passereh, Sara January 2013 (has links)

Deadly Gun Violence : A Critical Discourse Analysis of Possible Ideological Influences on the Framing of a Mass Shooting

Stückemann, Elena January 2018 (has links)
Statistics show that the number of mass shootings and involved fatalities have drastically increased over the last five years. The framing of these attacks in the mass media has a substantial impact on the public opinion on the causes of shootings, possible prevention methods and gun control in general. Following study aims to uncover potential ideological influences of political tendencies of liberal and conservative newspapers on the media coverage of the most recent mass shooting in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. A qualitative content analysis with a general structural analysis of 39 articles from the liberal newspaper The New York Times and the conservative newspaper The Washington Times and a more detailed Critical Discourse Analysis of the frames of blame, prevention methods and gun control were conducted. Findings show that The Washington Times´media coverage on blame attributions and prevention methods mainly included frames of mental health. The focus in The New York Times´ coverage is clearly on gun issues and the demand for gun restrictions. The topic gun control is positively framed by The New York Times. The Washington Times, however, framed gun control in connection with conspiracy theories and thus portrayed it in a more negative light. The findings prove an influence of the newspapers´ political tendencies and ideologies on the media coverage of the Florida mass shooting.

Rámování témat migrace a Evropské unie v průběhu prezidentské kampaně v online médiích iDnes.cz, Respekt.cz a Aeronet / Framing of the topics of migration and the European Union during the presidential election campaign in the online media iDnes.cz, Respekt.cz and Aeronet

Chudomelová, Lenka January 2018 (has links)
(in English) The thesis uses the second level of the agenda-setting theory to study the media's coverage of two topics during the presidential campaign in the years 2017 and 2018, in relation to candidates Miloš Zeman and Jiří Drahoš. The chosen topics are migration and the relation to the European Union. The qualitative version of the frame analysis is used to investigate which moments of the candidates' campaign were distinct in the three online media that are read by a different audience: iDnes.cz, Aeronet and Respekt.cz. While iDnes.cz applied broad range of contradictory frames, the opinion-specific media worked with a dominant perspective to frame the candidates' positions. The most successful frames in the campaign were the ones that contested negative emotions and were present in the public and media space for a longer time period. However, the media worked with the frames and their attributes in a critical way, developing or denying them, and none of the media only reproduced the candidates' positions.

Formování veřejných nálad směrem k evropské integraci na západním Balkáně: euroskepticismus, eurofilie a eurorealismus v Severní Makedonii / Shaping Public Attitudes towards European Integration in the Western Balkans: Euroscepticism, Europhilia and Eurorealism in North Macedonia

Dimopoulou, Maria Paschalina January 2021 (has links)
European Politics and Society Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Programme MA Thesis Attitudes towards European Integration in the Western Balkans: Euroscepticism and Europhilia in North Macedonia Maria Paschalina Dimopoulou Abstract The progress in the integration of EU candidate member states is determined by the level of democratization they have achieved, the level of success in the transition to market economy, the rule of law development and the ability to fulfill the conditions obligatory for member states. The attitudes towards the prospect of membership range from fervent enthusiasm to severe skepticism, depending on the length of the process, the success or lack thereof in the institutional transformation, the compatibility of the European values with traditional norms and region-specific reasons. There have been many studies focusing on the Central and East European former candidate states, while contemporary research on the Western Balkan region is rather focused on the EU's enlargement fatigue and conditionality failure. This thesis attempts to examine the role of domestic media of a candidate state in shaping the public opinion and the possible role of the political parties using the media to project their agendas on integration. The case study of North Macedonia proves the positive connection...

Budování mediální agendy v českých médiích na příkladu zpravodajství o zdravotnictví / Media agenda building in czech news coverage on the example of health news

Ciborová, Kateřina January 2015 (has links)
The main objective of this thesis is to describe agenda building process in Czech news media on the example of health news. The thesis is based on the concept of agenda-setting which operates with the term "media agenda". The fundamental question of media agenda building is how and why some topics get to the news while others not. Two separate pieces of research have been conducted for the purpose of this thesis. Firstly quantitative content analysis explores how selected Czech news media report on health news during 2013. The analysis is focused on daily press Mladá fronta Dnes, Lidové noviny, Hospodářské noviny, Právo, Česká televize TV news, and Český rozhlas radio news. Secondly, interviews with journalists who are or were devoted to the health news describe media routines forming media content. The result based on the two research methods is a description of health newsgathering. Particularly, the issues in question are how health journalists receive ideas for their stories, what motivates them, who forms health news, what role plays intermedia agenda, public relations materials or human stories.
