The Study of Knowledge Management Model-System Component Research

Lee, Wen-Hsin 26 June 2001 (has links)
What is the competency advantage of company? What is the niche of company? These are the important question in management field. In this knowledge society, company¡¦s successes depend on company¡¦s special and particularly intellectual capital. Take Microsoft as an example, it¡¦s book value is not its software factory, actually it has no software factory, Microsoft¡¦s book value is constitute by its goodwill, person computer operation system stander, and the ability to form an alliance with other companies. The goodwill and abilities are Microsoft¡¦s intellectual capital. So, knowledge had become the most important active and result in economic actives. How to manage knowledge is the most important work for management in this century. Because the knowledge management becomes more and more important, many research and theses begin to study about knowledge management, and many software suppliers have developed it¡¦s own knowledge management framework and solution. The market of knowledge management software and knowledge management service keep growing, books and theses about knowledge management also create many new ideas, and all companies began to realize knowledge management is an important direction for company¡¦s development. The complete knowledge management including many components, and knowledge management involve many issues about company, including company¡¦s strategy, employees, technologies¡Ketc. So, this thesis studied the theses about knowledge management and did many case studies. And interviewed some companies, which carried out knowledge management in Taiwan and compared the cases with theses. By the comparison between cases and theses, this thesis tries to find some contribution for knowledge management. And this thesis wants to provide useful advices for companies, which want to carry out knowledge management.

Human Facial Animation Based on Real Image Sequence

Yeh, Shih-Hao 24 July 2001 (has links)
How to efficiently and relistically generate 3D human face models is a very interesting and difficult problem in computer graphics. animated face models are essential to computer games, films making, online chat, virtual presence, video conferencing, etc. As the progress of computer technology, people request for more and more multimedia effects. Therefore, construct 3D human face models and facial animation are enthusiastically investigated in recent years. There are many kinds of method that used to construct 3D human face models. Such as laser scanners and computer graphics. So far, the most popular commercially available tools have utilized laser scanners. But it is not able to trace moving object. We bring up a technique that construct 3D human face model based on real image sequence. The full procedure can be divided into 4 parts. In the first step we use two cameras take picture con human face simultaneously. By the distance within two cameras we can calculate the depth of human face and build up a 3D face model. The second step is aimed at one image sequence which is taken by the same camera. By comparing the feature poins on previous image afterward image we can get the motion vector of human face. Now we can construct a template of animated 3D face model. After that we can map any kind of 2D new character image into the template, then build new character's animation. The full procedure is automatic. We can construct exquisite human facial animation easily.

A Study of Physical Therapy Referral Model

Chen, Chih-Ming 28 August 2002 (has links)
Abstract Physical therapy (PT) referral model is the major entrance for public to receive professional PT services. In additional to the traditional ¡§restricted referral model¡¨, the new ¡§independent referral model¡¨ is introduced in some regional teaching healthcare institutions. Searching for the appropriate referral model of PT may be the first step for patients to get high quality PT services, and should be concerned and emphasized. The study aims to investigate the perceptions of relevant medical professionals (physicians specialized in orthopedic, neurology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, family practice, and pediatrics, and physical therapists) and outpatient patients to the current PT referral model in the studied hospitals. Primary findings are as following: 1. Physical therapists are in favor of ¡§independent referral model¡¨ compared to physicians in the surveyed groups. 2. Based on the characteristics of physicians, ¡§field of specialty¡¨ and ¡§confirm with the National Insurance Reimbursement Regulation¡¨ are significant related to their perceptions of the ideal referral model. 3. Based on the characteristics of physical therapists, ¡§age¡¨, ¡§professional education¡¨, and ¡§clinical experience¡¨ are significant related to their perceptions of the ideal referral model. 4. Outpatients in the studied hospitals perceive that physical therapists are more aware of the treated conditions than physicians. 5. Outpatients in the studied hospitals perceive that physical therapists are in a better position for developing rehabilitative plan than physicians.

A Study on Competitive Advantage of TFT-LCD Industies

Chen, Chen-Chang 13 February 2003 (has links)
The delivered quantity of TFT-LCD of Taiwan is more than that of Japan in the first quarter 2002. It pushes Taiwan to the position of No 2 in the world, only next to Korea. Hence Taiwan government has included the TFT-LCD industries as the strategic industries to develo. In the near future, we can forecast that TFT-LCD will succeed the semi-conductor industry to stand for the star industry of Taiwan The purpose of this research is to probe the competitions of TFT-LCD industries among Taiwan, Janpan and South Korea, including core competence, developing strategies, business model, and to discover the key success factors(KFS) of competitive advantage of nation in these industries within different countries. By way of the KFS to forecast the future development and potential niche market in the global TFT-LCD industries. The results lead to the conclusion that follows¡G 1. TFT-LCD industry is a hypercompetitive global industry. 2. The TFT-LCD industries of Taiwan, Japan and South Korea each has his competitive advantages. 3. Core competence is the most important strategic resource. 4. LCD-TV will become the largest niche market in the future. 5. The Diamond-Model of TFT-LCD industries in Taiwan and Japan will link together.

ERP Implementation For Small-Medium Size Enterprises : A Case Study of A Company

Huang, Mei-Hua 14 July 2003 (has links)
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems are becoming mature technologies to support inter- and intra-company business processes in many intermediate and small organizations. However, these systems are complex and expensive. Research indicated that about three-quarters of the ERP projects were judged unsuccessful. A common problem confronted when adopting ERP software has been the issue of misfits, that is, the gaps between the functionality offered by the package and that required and expected by the adopting organization. This study investigated a systematical approach to facilitate the process of ERP implementation. The methodology includes five steps: Implementation Definition, Operation Analysis, Real Practice, Final Preparation, On-line and Maintenance. An ERP implementation case is used to demonstrate the feasibility of the methodology and provide the experience of misfit solving. With this methodology, the ERP adopting organizations can more easily and systematically implement the ERP package. In addition, the experience provides greater insight for misfit solving confronted in the case, and thereby reduce the risk of ERP implementation.

The Study on The Phase Transition of The Antiferromagnetic-Torsional XY Model

Ding, Kueng-Long 18 July 2003 (has links)
ABSTRACT The phase transition of the antiferromagnetic-torsional XY model is studied with molecular dynamics. In the process of releasing energy, we find a minimally stable state. The minimally stable state indicates the process of disordered state to ordered state when the 2nd phase transition was derived. The temperature of phase transition for the iferromagnetic-torsional XY model is lower than that for the antiferromagnetic XY model. A increase of the coefficient J2 will delay the temperature of phase transition for the antiferromagnetic-torsional XY model .

SUSY phenomenology

Hu, Bo 15 November 2004 (has links)
Supersymmetric extensions to the Standard Model (SM) have many interesting experimental consequences which can provide important hints to the physics beyond the SM. In this thesis, we first study the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon and show that a significant constraint on the parameter space can be obtained from its current experimental value. In the next topic, we study the CP violations in B -> phi K decays and show that the SM and the minimal supergravity model (mSUGRA) cannot account for the current experimental observation. We then show that all the data can be accommodated for a wide range of parameters in models with non-universal soft breaking left-right A terms. In our last topic, which is based on a Horava-Witten inspired model proposed by R. Arnowitt and B. Dutta, we extend their analysis to the full fermion sector of the SM and propose a new mechanism different from the usual see saw mechanism to generate small neutrino masses which are in good agreement with the current neutrino oscillation data.

Why are dividends sticky?

Tsai, Chun-Li 01 November 2005 (has links)
This dissertation investigates the sluggish adjustment process of dividend payment in the stock market. First, I focus on the individual stocks. A casual investigation of observed dividends for individual stocks shows dividend adjustments are sluggish and discrete; this is not consistent with the Lintner??s stylized fact (1956) in which dividend adjustments are assumed to change continuously. Thus, I examine three possible explanations to account for dividend stickiness and discreteness: menu-costs (i.e. a constant adjustment cost), decision-making delays, and dividend adjustment asymmetry. I reject Dixit??s menu-cost model as an appropriate specification for the sluggish adjustment process of dividends. The empirical results imply that decisionmaking delays and dividend adjustment asymmetry might be possible explanations for sticky and discrete dividends on selected individual stocks. Second, I focus on the aggregate stock market. I use a quadratic adjustment cost model to examine whether adjustment costs can explain the slow adjustment of aggregate dividends. The empirical results suggest that adjustment costs might be a significant factor explaining the slow dividend adjustment for S&P 500. The value of relative weigh cost is related to the specification of target dividend. If target dividendsare related to earnings, then the empirical results suggest that the adjustment costs are about forty-fold more important than the deviation cost between the actual dividend and the target level in determining the dynamic dividend adjustment process. If target dividends are specified as proportion to the stock prices, the adjustment costs are about fourteen-fold more important than the deviation cost between actual dividend and target level when managers determine the dividends.
