Cette thèse analyse comment la fiction espagnole contemporaine renoue avec la tradition de l’exemplarité littéraire, à travers l’étude d’un corpus de sept œuvres publiées au tournant du XXe (1998-2004). Elle tente de mettre en lumière l’évolution de la notion d’exemplarité dans une perspective diachronique mais aussi synchronique, à travers le prisme du paradigme de pensée contemporain centré sur la notion d’individu. Les nouvelles modalités de l’exemplarité au sein de la prose narrative actuelle sont appréhendées à partir de la réactivation de son support traditionnel — la figure du héros — mais aussi des possibilités nouvelles qu’offrent le questionnement des frontières génériques et l’ambiguïté du pacte de lecture. Dans un monde dépourvu de consensus idéologique, les auteurs du corpus forgent leur propre grille d’interprétation du réel et substituent des réponses éthiques particulières, mais toutefois crédibles et acceptables par le lecteur, à l’imposition de vérités globales et universelles. L’exemplarité, telle qu’elle est à l’œuvre dans le roman actuel, entraîne alors une nouvelle forme d’engagement caractérisée par l’énoncé d’une éthique consubstantielle à la création littéraire. / This thesis analyses how the contemporary Spanish fiction revives the tradition of literary exemplarity, through the study of seven novels published at the turn of the XXth and the XXIst centuries (1998-2004). This work tries to underline the evolution of the exemplarity notion in both diachronic and synchronic perspectives, and the study of the current analytical paradigm focused on the individual. The new forms of exemplarity in contemporary literature are considered through the reactivation of its traditional shape —the hero— but also with the new possibilities given by the questioning of boundaries between genre and the ambivalence of the reading pact. In a world devoid of ideological consensus, the authors of the corpus shape their own frames of understanding. Rather than a universal moral, they suggest subjective ethical answers that can be shared by the reader. The exemplarity, in its actual forms, produces new types of commitment that are based on an ethic inseparable from literary creation.

This thesis addresses the epistolary work by Novo-Hispanic writer Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz to place it in the literary and discursive context of the end of the 17th Century. I will take as theoretical background the concepts of dialogism and the carnivalesque by Mikhail Bakhtin, as well as Michel De Certeau’s reflections on what he calls the practice of everyday life. Other aspects of my theoretical approach will be drawn from Michel Foucault’s concepts in The Archaeology of Knowledge; his ideas about power, knowledge and social control, which will be useful for contextually addressing Sor Juana’s work and that of her intellectual contemporaries. Particularly, I will analyse the circumstances in which these Novo-Hispanic discourses were produced. This contextualization will allow me to incorporate not only the cultural (everyday life) practices that surround the production of these texts, but also other less notable or unpublished documents written by some of Sor Juana’s contemporaries. My aim is to widen the discursive spectrum of authors and critics of the prose of this author, and to this end I make use of documents from the 17th Century as primary source. This thesis is divided into three chapters. In the first, I will place into context the Novo-Hispanic discourse and the generic forms of the time: sermon, satire, libel, letter and inquisitorial censure, and the function of ideological control exerted by the Novo-Hispanic Holy Office. In the second chapter I will make a textual and contextual revision of three epistolary documents by Sor Juana: Carta al Padre Nuñez (Letter to Father Nuñez, 1682), Carta Atenagórica (Letter Worthy of Athena, 1690) and Respuesta a Sor Filotea de la Cruz (Reply to Sor Filotea of the Cross, 1690); as well as the antecedents, development and the result of the critical-theological conflict caused by these private letters, their replies and other collateral documents, namely, Carta de Serafina de Cristo, and Carta de Filotea de la Cruz (1690). Both drafts of these letters, found in Puebla in 2010, will also be refered in this revision. In addition to this I will study Defensa del Sermón del Mandato (1691) and Discurso Apologético contra la Fe de Erratas de un Soldado Castellano (1691), documents found in Lima in 2002 and published in Mexico in 2004. The third chapter consists of the study of three contemporary preachers of Sor Juana: Francisco Xavier Palavicino Villarrasa, Pedro Muñoz de Castro and Pedro de Avendaño Suárez de Sousa, whose theological and literary activities were denounced by the Holy Office. My aim is to show the reach of inquisitorial control and its consequence on the writing and literary activities of the contemporary intellectuals of Sor Juana, to contextualize Sor Juana’s epistolary work and confront the possible isolation and singularization that may place her life and work apart from the kernel of the intellectual scene in the New Spain at the close of the 17th Century.

En "Fuentes Documentales para el Estudio de la Música en el Cine Español de los Años 40" se pretende dar una visión general de cómo se desarrollaba la labor de los compositores cinematográficos en España en los primeros años de la dictadura franquista. Para ello se recurrió a toda fuente original y secundaria de la época y posterior con el fin de, en un primer lugar, contextualizar adecuadamente, política, jurídica y cinematográficamente la investigación para de este modo comprender y analizar las diferentes problemáticas que tuvieron que afrontar los compositores de cine durante dicho periodo, tales como: problemas narrativos, técnicas, deficiencias técnicas, planteamientos teóricos, etc. Tras este análisis, la tesis continúa con la exposición de una base de datos gnerada para la organización del abundante material recopilado a lo largo de la investigación y unas conclusiones que son seguidas por un bloque de apéndices constituidos por: entrevistas a familiares de compositores y profesionales; una recopilación de la legislación relacionada con la producción cinematográfica entre 1938 y 1950; la relación de los gobiernos franquistas del periodo abarcado; un listado de las bases de datos sobre cine existentes en Internet; una realción de los ganadores de los premios otorgados por el Círculo de Escritores Cinematográficos; y un texto sobre el análisis cinematográfico. / Roldán Garrote, D.
