In 2015, with the support of the São Paulo City Department of Culture, the collective enabled a project entitled Desconstruindo Estereótipos, which was divided into three-stages: 1) workshops with nearly one hundred participants aiming at discussing how women from the periphery are represented in the mainstream media; the discussions were followed by painting and photography exercises through which these women told their life stories; 2) video-recorded interviews with nine workshop participants; 3) multimedia art exhibit created using part of the material produced in the workshops and captured in the interviews. The exhibition, entitled QUEM SOMOS [POR NÓS], was held at the main hall of the Centro Cultural Municipal da Juventude Ruth Cardoso, in the periphery of São Paulo city north zone, and was open for visitation during a month. Based on statements selected from the material presented in the exhibition, the interviews given by some of the women who participated in the workshops were analyzed with the purpose of understanding how they discursively (re)construct their identities in relation to other discourses existing in public spaces. From the theoretical perspective, the research was based on the notions of thematic formations discursive, scene of enunciation, and ethos, as proposed and developed by Dominique Maingueneau, and also on the principles of Crenshaw’s intersectional feminism, according to which the relation between gender-, social class-, and race-based oppressions is inextricable in the constitution of identities. Each dimension was understood as a discursive formation – notion that characterizes the identity limits of a discourse – in order to infer the production of meanings and the inter-relation among them in the inter-discursive space. Through the scenography, it was possible to understand that the discourse is based on a topography of oppression and annulment as well as on the chronography of the fight for reducing inequalities, mobilizing other contemporary discourses of women empowerment. With regards to the image constructed by the enunciation, it is possible to infer an ethos of strong women that corresponds to the guarantor capable of participating in this ethical world of resistance and fight against these social injustices / Esta pesquisa tem origem no trabalho desenvolvido pelo coletivo Nós, mulheres da periferia, grupo criado em 2014 por nove comunicadoras que moram na periferia de São Paulo, com o objetivo de produzir um jornalismo focado nas questões relacionadas às mulheres da periferia. Em 2015, com o apoio da Secretaria Municipal de Cultura de São Paulo, o coletivo viabilizou, em três etapas, o projeto Desconstruindo Estereótipos: 1) oficinas, com cerca de cem participantes, com o objetivo de discutir as representações da mulher da periferia na grande mídia; tais discussões foram seguidas por exercícios de pintura e fotografia que permitiram a essas mulheres contar suas histórias de vida; 2) entrevistas, em vídeo, gravadas com nove das participantes das oficinas; 3) exposição artística multimídia criada com parte do material elaborado nas oficinas e captado nas entrevistas. A exposição, intitulada QUEM SOMOS [POR NÓS], ocupou o salão principal do Centro Cultural Municipal da Juventude Ruth Cardoso, na periferia da zona norte, e ficou em cartaz durante um mês. A partir de enunciados recortados do material apresentado na exposição, foram analisadas entrevistas de algumas das mulheres que participaram das oficinas, com o objetivo de compreender como elas (re)constroem, discursivamente, sua identidade na relação com outros discursos que circulam nos espaços públicos. Do ponto de vista teórico, a pesquisa apoiou-se nas noções de formações discursivas temáticas, cena de enunciação e ethos, tais como propostos e desenvolvidos por Dominique Maingueneau, e também nos princípios do feminismo interseccional, com base em Crenshaw, segundo o qual é inextricável a relação entre as opressões de gênero, classe social e raça na constituição de tais identidade. Cada dimensão foi apreendida na condição de formação discursiva - noção que caracteriza os limites da identidade de um discurso - de forma a depreender a produção dos sentidos e a interrelação entre eles no espaço interdiscursivo. A cenografia construída apoia-se em uma topografia de opressão e anulação e em uma cronografia de luta pela diminuição das desigualdades, mobilizando outros discursos contemporâneos de empoderamento das mulheres. Em relação à imagem construída pela enunciação, depreende-se o ethos de mulheres fortes que corresponde a um fiador capaz de participar desse mundo ético de resistência e enfrentamento de tais injustiças sociais

No. of bitstreams: 1 Eliana Pereira Silva.pdf: 1684553 bytes, checksum: b8101e64b12d18fd5a48fcd4ea5fc754 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2014-10-30 / The object of this study is the analysis and the apprehension of violence as one of the expressions of this social issue and its interrelationship with the categories Class and Gender and Race, by means of the delimitation of the universe of the daily lives of a number of women who live in the Paraisópolis community (a neighborhood in São Paulo city), their perception and experience, as well as the ways they forge their strategies of survival and possibilities of resistance, their conditions, and precise determinations of social reality. The aim of this research is to understand the perception of these women regarding their experiences with violence, the violence specifically towards them, and the meaning attributed to their experiences, and the ways in which they organize themselves, resist (or not) to the various forms of violence. We start from the conception of violence as a category which is saturated by determinations and contradictions, which can be apprehended only by means of the analysis of their specific conditions. From this perspective, we opted for conducting a qualitative research, specifically in the construction of oral narratives of the women who live in the Paraisópolis community, along with a group interview with leaders of the Association of Women in the region. The conduction of the research included a description and an analysis of the territory of Paraisópolis and its characteristics in relation to violence, and how the various kinds of violence affect directly the daily lives of the women. By means of interviews and the construction of the oral narratives, we approached the voice and the perception of the subjects, the way they elaborate their own experience and their possibilities of resistance in their daily lives. These are women who, despite all the difficulties, build, from their daily life, strategies of survival, resistance, and ways of life. They subvert their daily life and recognize themselves as subjects, by means of inclusion in collective actions and activities, solidarity networks and in the construction of several survival strategies / O objeto deste estudo é a análise e apreensão da violência como uma das expressões da questão social e sua inter-relação com as categorias Classe e Gênero e Raça, por meio do recorte do universo do cotidiano das mulheres moradoras da comunidade de Paraisópolis (bairro da cidade de São Paulo), sua percepção e vivência, bem como as maneiras como forjam as estratégias de sobrevivência e possibilidades de resistência, suas condições, e determinações concretas da realidade social. Objetivou-se, com a pesquisa, compreender a percepção das mulheres sobre a vivência da violência, a violência dirigida diretamente a elas, e o significado atribuído às suas experiências e às formas como se organizam, resistem (ou não) às diversas formas de violência. Partimos da concepção de violência como categoria saturada de determinações e contradições, que podem ser apreendidas apenas por meio da análise de suas condições concretas. A partir dessa perspectiva, optou-se pela realização de pesquisa qualitativa, especificamente na construção de narrativas orais de mulheres moradoras da comunidade de Paraisópolis, além de entrevista em grupo com lideranças da Associação de Mulheres da região. O caminho da pesquisa percorreu, ainda, a descrição e análise do território de Paraisópolis e suas particularidades em relação à violência, e como as diversas violências atingem diretamente o cotidiano das mulheres. Por meio de entrevistas e a construção das narrativas orais, nos aproximamos da voz e percepção dos sujeitos, de como elaboram sua própria experiência na vida cotidiana e possibilidades de resistência. São mulheres que, a despeito de todas as dificuldades, constroem, a partir do seu cotidiano, estratégias de sobrevivência, resistências, formas de vida. Subvertem o seu cotidiano e se reconhecem como sujeitos por meio da inserção em ações e atividades coletivas, redes de solidariedade e na construção de várias estratégias de sobrevivência
