Application of artificial intelligence techniques for dynamic channel allocation on wireless networks.

Daniel Gibilini 25 April 2006 (has links)
In the last years, mobile networks became more important for communication systems’ infrastructure. One area of great growth is mobile computation, which is performed through radio signals. The amount of available channels rarely is enough to attend the increasing demand. This work presents a solution for the channel allocation topic, a challenging topic inside mobile networks area. The implementation of dynamic allocation using classic computational techniques improves the use of available resources, but it needs periodic and frequent adjustments for new scenarios. The construction of a more flexible and adaptable system was achieved using Artificial Intelligence techniques. Proposed model combines Fuzzy Logic, Artificial Neural Networks and Multi-Agents Systems. Features of each technique had been analyzed and we identified the system modules which could be benefited by them. The system is the result of coordinated combination of these three techniques, and constitutes an efficient and flexible method for radio resources management. After model detailing, we executed a cellular network simulation using proposed system, and its behavior is compared with a reference network, presenting reached differences and improvements. Finally, we present current situation of this research and possible ways for system improvement.

These approaches should be able to, autonomously, respond to attacks and deal with several important aspects of the computer security problem in order to reduce the system administrator s workload Such approaches can offer larger reliability and effectiveness in the detection and response processes, a higher rate of security to private networks, better defense possibilities and, in addition, minimize the intruder's change of success. This research work deals with the specification of a society of intelligent agents for assessment and enhancement of intrusion response systems in computer networks. The proposal of the model of intrusion response system (IRS) be based on in several available architectures, in order to look for better solutions for the problems faced in the modelling of a system of that level. With that, was modeled a system to approach the main desirable functionalities for a system of active answers. The system, as part of the NIDIA (Network Intrusion Detection System based on Intelligent Agents) (Lima, 2001), is formed by a society of agents that are responsible for the functions of identification of the characteristic of the attack, choice of the best reaction strategy and for the execution of the response. The society is composed by agents able to determine and apply automatically corrective actions against attacks classified according to a given severity taxonomic model. In the proposed model was looked for to define response to intrusions for abuse and for anomaly to guarantee a lower robustness to the system.

The Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) have appeared as a solution for detention and correction of intrusion of pro-active way. Thus, some models of SDIs have appeared to diminish the probability of compromising of on computational systems connected in net, identifying, reporting and answering to these incidents. In face to that diversity of solutions, they lack proposals of standardization of the information used for these Systems, as well as of mechanisms of interoperability and exchange of information between the solutions in use. This dissertation, proposes a model, an architecture and an implementation of a SDI´s Information Manager, using the technologies of Multi- Agents Systems and Web Services. The objective of the Information Manager is to keep the information that are necessary to the development of the inherent functions of a SDI, in a safe and updated way. We also propose a standard of format for storage of these data to insert requirements in the environment, as: Unified Storage, Transparent Access, Uniform Generation of Data and Friendly Interaction. Proposition d'une approche d'amélioration des performances des organisations par le management opérationnel de leurs connaissances et compétences / Proposing a performance improvement approach to organizations by the operational management of their knowledge and competences

Girodon, Julien 26 August 2015 (has links)
This research, carried out under a PhD “CIFRE” with the company ESSILOR and the ERPI Laboratory of the Lorraine University, proposes a framework to make organizations evolve, based on the operational management of knowledge and competences. We have enhanced the organizational mechanisms of sharing, and the use of knowledge and competences within the design environment, in order to propose models, methods and tools allowing actors and organizations to improve their performances. Four key elements have been developed in this research, including three contributions and an assessment of the efficiency of the proposed development framework: • The development of an enterprise modeling method based on the conceptual model KROM and its translation into operational models. This method aims to clarify the organizational links of the knowledge and competence concepts in order to link them to their implementation contexts. • The definition of a global framework to make an organization evolve based on the management of its knowledge and competence assets. This evolution framework includes a characterization and an assessment of the organizations’ maturity in their knowledge and competences management practices, as well as a method to make organizations change, based on the proposal of scenario of improvement actions: the ACKME method. • The proposal of an organizational approach to design Multi-agent systems (MAS) called DOCK, allowing the designer to specify MAS oriented toward the issues faced by knowledge engineering approaches, namely the recognition and management of the knowledge life cycle. • An assessment of the value of the implemented framework (the three previous contributions) based on the assessment of the competences of the actors within the organization. This evaluation is based, on one hand, on the possibility to integrate the evolution framework into a global steering approach to make the organization evolve, and on the other hand, on experiments led within the Engineering department of Essilor

Réseau de PLLs distribuées pour synthèse automatique d'horloge de MPSOCs synchrones / Distributed PLL network for automatic clock synthesis of synchronous MPSOCs

Korniienko, Anton 06 December 2011 (has links)
The classical clock distribution trees used in the synchronous microprocessor systems in nowadays have several drawbacks such as skew, jitter, frequency limitation, perturbation and disturbance behavioral impact independently of their origin, etc.. These factors, critical for the modern microprocessors, motivate the research of an alternative architecture of the clock generation and distribution system. An example of such alternative architectures is the network of coupled PLLs where the PLLs are geographically distributed on the chip and produce the local clock signals. These local clock signals are then synchronized, in real time, by an exchange of information between the PLLs and by local feedback corrections realized by its controllers. Distributed PLLs network allows overcoming the mentioned limitation encountered for the classical clock distribution system. However, the active nature of this network requires going beyond the scope of usual stand-alone PLL design methods. Indeed, the dynamical aspects of the feedback loops and the transformations of the signal inside this complex system make the design problem extremely difficult to solve. The main issue consists in ensuring certain properties of the global network as well as local properties of each subsystem PLL because those properties may change drastically from independent stand-alone PLL designed with standard tools and methods. Indeed, depending on the network topology, the local properties and global dynamical behavior are not necessarily ensured for the overall network. The main contribution of this PhD thesis is the development of a control law design method for each subsystem (such as PLL) ensuring the desired behavior of the global network. A method for transforming the global design problem to an equivalent local control law design problem is proposed. It is based on the assumption that all subsystems are identical. The relation between the local and global properties is established using advanced Control System Theory tools such as input-output and dissipativity principle. This principle decreases significantly the problem complexity by transforming the design problem into a form that is closed to the design of a stand-alone closed loop system. The proposed method is combined with robust H∞ control and LMI optimization that can be solved efficiently with appropriate algorithms that are well suited for the considered application i.e. the PLLs network synchronization. The proposed approach can be easily generalized to other types of networked system to be controlled.
