Enterprise wikis as a means of creating business value: The impact of the CIO

Mass collaboration has been made possible through social networking tools likewikis. With features that support the principles wikinomics, wikis are enabling largenumber of people to participate in the production process without necessarily beingat the same physical location. Organizations and IT managers are beginning to har-ness this new technology in a way that will create business value for their companies,helping them to produce goods and services that are valuable for their customers.This research sets out to explore the business values of using wikis in enterprises, andhow the CIOs and other IT managers who are responsible for handling the IT/IS re-sources of their firms leverage wikis to create business value. This was accomplishedby examining collaborations on wikis from two different perspectives: Firstly, fromthe CIO or IT manager’s perspective where we gathered their own views about thebusiness values of wikis and also assess their own impact on creating those businessvalues. Secondly, we examined the business values of wikis from the user’s perspec-tive by gathering the views of different wiki users.The main contribution of this research is to identify if any, the business values thatare obtained from using wikis in enterprises and to ascertain the impact of the CIOon the business values that are being created. / The report we did is research report which aims to investigate the impact of CIO and enterprise wikis for companies. / Master Thesis in Informatics

Laboratorní úlohy pro výuku síťových technologií / Laboratory exercises for network technologies education

The aim of the diploma thesis is to choose network simulator suitable for network technologies laboratory tasks for educational use. Theoretical part of thesis describes basics of network communication, addressing, reference models. Thesis also describes standards Wi Fi, Ethernet and routing protocol OSPF - technologies which are discussed in laboratory tasks. The practical part of diploma thesis describes a few available network simulators suitable for creating two laboratory tasks. Finally, the NS-3 simulator was chosen. Both laboratory tasks include theoretical introduction, detailed description of source code, individual tasks, expected outputs and control questions which senses understanding of discussed technologies.

A INTEGRAÇÃO DAS TECNOLOGIAS EDUCACIONAIS EM REDE E A CONVERGÊNCIA ENTRE AS MODALIDADES NO PROCESSO ENSINO-APRENDIZAGEM / THE INTEGRATION OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY IN NETWORK AND THE CONVERGENCE BETWEEN THE MODALITIES IN THE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS

The focus of analysis is the integration of network technologies and the convergence between the educational modalities at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). The aim was to investigate how the integration of network technologies occurs, especially the Moodle, and the convergence between the educational modalities at UFSM. The action research methodological procedures pervade the spiral cyclic motion (planning, action, observation, reflection, replanning and type Survey questionnaires). The results indicate that the integration of educational technologies in network is already happening at UFSM. This enables the convergence between the modalities through the production and implementation of resources and study activities according to the standardization of educational public policies. Therefore, the collaborative production in networks, such as the wiki activity, enhances interaction, communication, curricular content sharing and the development of technological and pedagogical fluency. Thus the integration of educational technologies in network boosts didactic and methodological innovation through the organization of resources and study activities at the Moodle, leveraging the teaching-learning process and allowing the convergence between the modalities. / O foco de análise é a integração das tecnologias em rede e a convergência entre as modalidades educacionais na Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM). Objetivou-se investigar como ocorre a integração das tecnologias educacionais em rede, em especial o Moodle, e a convergência entre modalidades na UFSM. Os procedimentos metodológicos de pesquisa-ação perpassam pelo movimento espiral cíclico (planejamento, ação, observação, reflexão, replanejamento e questionários do tipo Survey). Os resultados indicam que na UFSM a integração de tecnologias educacionais em rede já está ocorrendo. Isso viabiliza a convergência entre as modalidades através da produção e implementação de recursos e atividades de estudo segunda parametrização das políticas públicas educacionais. Desse modo, a produção colaborativa em redes como a atividade wiki potencializa a interação, comunicação e o compartilhamento de conteúdos curriculares e a construção da fluência tecnológico-pedagógica. Por conseguinte, conclui-se que a integração de tecnologias educacionais em rede potencializa inovação didático-metodológica através da organização de recursos e atividades de estudo no Moodle potencializando o processo ensino-aprendizagem e permitindo a convergência entre as modalidades.

A teoria de base tem autores da área de Biblioteconomia, Ciência da Informação e Administração para abordar: a questão do bibliotecário enquanto gestor da informação e a influência das tecnologias em rede nas bibliotecas universitárias híbridas, visando à facilitação do acesso à informação. O problema norteador da presente pesquisa busca identificar: quais são os limites e potencialidades da gestão bibliotecária na utilização das tecnologias em rede como elemento facilitador do acesso à informação aos usuários de bibliotecas universitárias? A mesma pretende contribuir para reflexões críticas sobre o assunto, e corrobora com a necessidade de uma nova proposta de gestão da informação nas bibliotecas híbridas pesquisadas, visando o atendimento satisfatório dos usuários. A abordagem adotada foi a hipotético-dedutiva, e os procedimentos adotados foram: pesquisa bibliográfica, pesquisa de campo e análise documental. A técnica adotada na pesquisa bibliográfica foi: fichamentos e resumos. A pesquisa de Campo foi realizada através de observação, entrevista e aplicação de questionários aos bibliotecários, pessoal de apoio e usuários da Biblioteca Central da FURG e da Biblioteca da UNIPAMPA – Campus Bagé. Na análise documental foram utilizadas tabelas e gráficos. Os resultados obtidos evidenciaram a necessidade de o bibliotecário adquirir novas competências e focar mais suas atividades para o usuário, visando o acesso à informação. / The present case study is a dissertation that has as a concentration area, Networked Educational Technologies for Innovation and Democratization of Education, and is part of the research line Management of Educational Technologies in Network within the scope of the Master in Educational Technologies in Network of the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). The study aims to analyze the management of hybrid libraries and the use of networked technologies in the Federal University Rio Grande Central Library (FURG) and the Campus Bagé Library of the Federal University of Pampa (UNIPAMPA). The basic theory brings authors in the area of Library Science, Information Science and Administration to address: the issue of the librarian as manager of information and the influence of network technologies in hybrid university libraries, aiming to facilitate the access to information. The guiding problem of the present research seeks to identify: what are the limits and potentialities of library management in the use of networked technologies as a facilitating element of access to information for users of university libraries? It intends to contribute to critical reflections on the subject, and corroborates the need for a new information management proposal in the hybrid libraries researched, aiming at satisfactory user service. The approach adopted was hypothetical-deductive, and the procedures adopted were: bibliographic research, field research and documentary analysis. The technique adopted in the bibliographic research was: registration and abstracts. Field research was conducted through observation, interview and application of questionnaires to librarians, support staff and users of the FURG Central Library and the UNIPAMPA - Campus Bagé Library. In the documentary analysis, tables and graphics were used. The results obtained showed the need for the librarian to acquire new skills and to focus their activities on the user, aiming at access to information.

Výkonností testování aplikací nabírá v poslední době na důležitosti během vývoje všeho druhu. Tato práce mapuje základy testování výkonu, které jsou aplikovatelné na libovolné aplikace a následně analýzuje testování výkonu komponent používaných v Messaging systémech a to konkrétně Apache ActiveMQ Artemis a Qpid-Dispatch. Využívané metody testování výkonu je zaměřeno zejména na Apache ActiveMQ Artemis pomocí systému Messaging Performance Tool s názvem Maestro. Práce navrhuje vylepšení této aplikace o rozšíření testování systému Qpid-Dispatch a její možnosti při automatizovaném testování. Řešení je demonstrováno na sérii experimentů s různými topologiemi. Výsledná zpráva závěrem vyhodnocuje navržené rozšíření systému Maestro, zhodnocuje výkon komponenty Qpid-Dispatch a rozvíjí myšlenky pro další rozšíření.
