Influence of e-krona & e-CNY on individual privacy : A comparative study between Sweden and China

Lan, Shuyu, Vaghoor kashani, Saleh January 2021 (has links)
This paper analyses the innovative digital money CBDC and its potential influence in Sweden and China with Privacy Calculus Model. The research aims to understand how e-krona and e-CNY will influence individual privacy in Sweden and China, and what the similarities and differences are. The e-krona and e-CNY will further reduce the usage of cash, which is the full-anonymous money. E-krona may not be full-anonymous, when it replaces some cash, the payment privacy also gets reduced. E-krona and e-CNY will both allow their central banks to have more control of transaction data. Compared to cash, privacy is reduced. Compared to other e-payments such as bank cards, individual privacy is more protected. The commercial organizations may have less access to transaction data with e-krona and e-CNY, there will be less targeted advertising, individuals will have more privacy. Swedish interviewees also trust the current payment tools. But they think e-krona could further improve the payment system. Chinese interviewees complain a lot about private payment companies, they think the change by e-CNY will be great. For personal interest, both sides have interests in e-krona/e-CNY. But Swedish interviewees are interested in e-krona due to the willingness to try new things. Chinese interviewees also mention that they are attracted by its free transaction fees, linking the isolated payment platforms.

DECISION FACTORS FOR THE ADOPTION OF E-FINANCE AND OTHER E-COMMERCE ACTIVITIES

He, Fang 01 January 2009 (has links)
The development of e-commerce relies upon consumer usage intentions, and Information Systems (IS) researchers have examined usage intentions toward various online e-commerce systems. However, these systems have been studied in prior works independently rather than comprehensively. In order to pursue better measures for predicting and explaining Business to Customer (B2C) e-finance and some other major e-commerce adoptions for consumers, a comparison analysis across three different online systems (online shopping, online banking and online payment) was conducted to advance the understanding of the adoption factors and their linkage to consumer behavior. Refining from Perceived Risk Theory and existing studies, specific risk facets, consumer characteristics and system characteristics were operationalized and integrated within the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) resulting in a proposed e-finance and other e-commerce system adoption model. A survey instrument was developed based on exploratory qualitative inquiry and quantitative assessment and was used to assess the influence of different risk and utility facets on the attitude towards e-commerce adoption. Results of this empirical study showed that the relationships between perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and intention of use were positively and significant towards all three online systems, while perceived risk had a negative impact on the adoption of online shopping and online payment only, which could result from the relative high risk perception towards the two systems. The results provide support of extended TAM model which integrates perceived risk and additional system-specific features and user-specific demographic factors in predicting a consumer's intention of adoption of online systems. Implications for both the academic and practitioner communities were discussed.

This project is about the creation and implementation of an application that consolidates the public transportation cards of Lima, through which users can recharge at any time, view available balances and have the option of subscribing to a monthly membership with which they can get free trips sharing the codes of promotions with friends and family. However, we will also analyze the problem of public transportation in Lima from the point of view of the users at the time of approaching a transport unit identifying which are the main problems that people have at the time of making a recharge of their card, and which would be the possible solutions taking into account the constant growth of the use of mobile applications in the Lima users. Therefore, we will offer an application that is easy to use and interact with, taking the customer and their needs as the main reference. To implement this application requires an average capital of S /.80,895.000, which includes pre-operational expenses, initial activations, initial working capital and the implementation of the application, through design companies such as Peruapps or Hostper. This amount will be obtained through contributions from each shareholder of the project and non-traditional financing, such as crowdfunding of Peruvian companies and universities. Finally, we will validate our business model through the intention of downloading the application in the active users of public transport in Lima. / Trabajo de investigación

Application of time and additional payment provisions to the fidic red book 1999 on the civil law / L'application des stipulations du FIDIC livre rouge en 1999 relatives au temps et au paiement supplémentaire en Droit Civil

Salwa, Fawzy 24 March 2017 (has links)
The FIDIC forms of contract are one of the most commonly used standard conditions of contract in international projects. The FIDIC is based on legal concepts rooted in the Common Law system. However, there is an increase use of the FIDIC in Civil Law jurisdictions. Thus, employers, contractors, international financing organizations, engineers, lawyers and stakeholders of projects, using FIDIC in Civil Law jurisdictions, need to understand the interpretation of the FIDIC provisions against a Civil Law background. In this research, the application of time and additional payment provisions of the FIDIC (CONS) will be studied in the context of the Civil Law, with special application on the Egyptian Civil Law. Similarities and differences between the relevant provisions of time and additional payment under the FIDIC (CONS) and the Egyptian Civil Law will be recognised. Recommendations will be yielded as to amendments to be made either to the Egyptian Civil Code or to the FIDIC (CONS), as the case may be, in relation to the provisions at issue. It is envisaged that this research would help employers, engineers and contractors, entering into projects based on the FIDIC (CONS) and with the Egyptian Civil Law as the applicable law, properly manage time provisions, delays and risks leading to additional payment in the construction contracts. This should help minimize, as much as possible, disputes associated with and/or resulting from the delays and claims for extension of time and/or additional payment. Since most of the legal systems of the Middle East are founded upon Civil Law principles, and are most heavily influenced by the Egyptian Civil Law, it is envisaged that this research would support effective and efficient contract administration of construction projects among the region.

Cryptocurrency as a Payment Method in the Retail Industry : An application of Diffusion of Innovation Theory (DOI) on the characteristics of Bitcoin: the case of Bitrefill

Mukabi, Collins, Vu, Nguyen Long January 2019 (has links)
Background: The convergence of payment behaviours can contribute to the diffusion of new payment technologies and thus economic performance. There is evidence that the electrification of the retail payment system promotes the performance of the banking sector and economic growth. The retail payment market is a prime example of a two-sided market where new payment instruments need to reach a critical mass of users to become viable and grow further (Martikainen, Schmiedel & Takalo, 2015). Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to analyse Bitcoin, as a payment method, and review the models already used to shed more light on its further potential adoption by retailers. We apply the DOI theory and review the TAM model to determine the underlying characteristics of Bitcoin that will enable further adoption or rejection among retailers. Method: We conduct a case study on Bitrefill AB which offers a rich method for investigating and researching. With the process of interpretation in context, we make inference from the case of Bitrefill in connecting with events and experiences of other retailers (Expedia, Alibaba, Overstock and CheapAir). Conclusion: According to the results, the adoption of Bitcoin relies heavily on positive relative advantages to other payment methods, compatibility and simplicity of its use while negative characteristics that pull it back from being adopted include the complexities in understanding the technology behind it, damaging outcomes varying from the expected.
