Light or Voice – make your choice! : Plocktekniker för tillverkningsföretag / Light or Voice – make your choice! : Plocktekniker för tillverkningsföretag

Bergstrand, Henrik, Sjöström, Johanna January 2014 (has links)
Companies constantly strive for the perfect order which enables them to satisfy and retain their customers. This is a difficult process that can be facilitated by using different picking technologies. In this study, a research of the picking technologies Pick-to-Light and Pick-to-Voice have been made to investigate when each technology is suited. In order to collect relevant information and data to be able to answer the question formulation, a qualitative study with interviews have been made. The purpose of this essay was to investigate Pick-to-Light and Pick-to-Voice to see when each technology is best suited and to see what the differences between the technologies are. With our essay we wanted to help manufacturing companies to make the right decisions when implementing a picking technology. The results showed that those picking technologies give companies a higher picking quality and an increased work efficiency since the order picking is faster to perform, and that picking errors are reduced. Through the interviews conducted, the result showed that Pick-to-Light and Pick-to-Voice are best suited at different types of areas. Pick-to-Light is optimal in small areas with high picking frequency while Pick-to-Voice is optimal in large areas with low picking frequency. Companies that are thinking of expanding in the future and use a picking technology on a much larger area, was recommended to implement Pick-to-Voice since this technology is more cost effective. Both of these technologies have multiple positive effects that are similar. Examples on these positive effects are that the operator has an overview of the items to be picked, the technologies are easy to learn and ergonomics are enhanced significantly when all paper handling is eliminated.Obviously, there are also differences between the techniques and also some disadvantages of each technique. The main differences are that the operator with Pick-to-Light can see which articles to be picked with the help of the luminous lights while the operator with Pick-to-Voice is voice guided to the items to be picked. Another major difference is that Pick-to-Voice is a wireless technology unlike Pick-to-Light and the ability to pick multiple orders at the same time is only possible with Pick-to-Voice. When it comes to maintenance costs, Pick-to-Light is more costly, both in time and money, since lights and cable must be replaced periodically. Likewise, an expanding with Pick-to-Light is more comprehensive since more cables and lamps must be purchased and installed. With Pick-to-Voice the only needed adjustment to make is in the system.Depending on the available conditions on the companies, the technologies are best suitable in different ways. Companies can use the technologies to secure the quality of the picking, reducing picking errors, and streamline the picking process. These technologies create the opportunity for companies to achieve the perfect order.

Planning Collision Free Motions for Pick and Place Operations

Brooks, Rodney A. 01 May 1983 (has links)
An efficient algorithm which finds collision free paths for a manipulator with 5 or 6 revolute joints is described. It solves the problem for four degree of freedom pick and place operations. Examples are given of paths found by the algorithm in tightly cluttered workspaces. The algorithm first describes free space in two ways: as freeways for the hand and payload ensemble and as freeways for the upperarm. Freeways match volumes swept out by manipulator motions and can be "inverted" to find a class of topologically equivalent path segments. The two freeway spaces are searched concurrently under projection of constraints determined by motion of the forearm.

Operator Theoretic Methods in Nevanlinna-Pick Interpolation

Hamilton, Ryan 26 March 2009 (has links)
This Master's thesis will develops a modern approach to complex interpolation problems studied by Carath\'odory, Nevanlinna, Pick, and Schur in the early $20^{th}$ century. The fundamental problem to solve is as follows: given complex numbers $z_1,z_2,...,z_N$ of modulus at most $1$ and $w_1,w_2,...,w_N$ additional complex numbers, what is a necessary and sufficiency condition for the existence of an analytic function $f: \mathbb{D} \rightarrow \mathbb$ satisfying $f(z_i) = w_i$ for $1 \leq i \leq N$ and $\vert f(z) \vert \leq 1$ for each $z \in \mathbb{D}$? The key idea is to realize bounded, analytic functions (the algebra $H^\infty$) as the \emph of the Hardy class of analytic functions, and apply dilation theory to this algebra. This operator theoretic approach may then be applied to a wider class of interpolation problems, as well as their matrix-valued equivalents. This also yields a fundamental distance formula for $H^\infty$, which provides motivation for the study of completely isometric representations of certain quotient algebras. Our attention is then turned to a related interpolation problem. Here we require the interpolating function $f$ to satisfy the additional property $f'(0) = 0$. When $z_i =0$ for some $i$, we arrive at a special case of a problem class studied previously. However, when $0$ is not in the interpolating set, a significant degree of complexity is inherited. The dilation theoretic approach employed previously is not effective in this case. A more function theoretic viewpoint is required, with the proof of the main interpolation theorem following from a factorization lemma for the Hardy class of analytic functions. We then apply the theory of completely isometric maps to show that matrix interpolation fails when one imposes this constraint.

The present work aims to create tools that can assist and improve classroom practices, more precisely in the studies of Geometry. We will present by counting Pick's Theorem, which calculates the area of a simple polygon by counting the points of the boundary and of the interior of the figure on a fixed lattice, making it a powerful tool of simple use for the understanding of the study of areas. Then we will present Reeve's Theorem that, similarly to Pick's, calculates the volume of a convex polyhedron by counting their lattice points, working on a secondary lattice of points Z3n, making a link between Geometry and counting.

Quelques nouveaux résultats de divisibilité infinie sur la demi-droite / Some new results of infinite divisibility on the half-line

Bosch, Pierre 23 June 2015 (has links)
In this thesis, we give some new results of infinite divisibility on the half-line. The main results are : - The resolution of a conjecture due to Steutel (1973) about the infinite divisibility of negative powers of a gamma variable.- The resolution of a conjecture due to Bondesson (1992) concerning stable densities and hyperbolic complete monotonicity property.

3D-Objekterkennung mit Jetson Nano und Integration mit KUKA KR6-Roboter für autonomes Pick-and-Place

Pullela, Akhila, Wings, Elmar 27 January 2022 (has links)

Kvalitetssäkring vid en monteringslina : ett projekt på Swepart i Liatorp / Securing quality at an assembly line : a project at Swepart in Liatorp

Kallenberg, Hampus, Lohman, André January 2015 (has links)

Wrangborg, Jenny January 2021 (has links)
