Grenzenlose Bilderwelt

Seige, Leander 11 August 2016 (has links)

Análisis de la construcción de las infografías sobre el coronavirus en el Perú, publicadas en el portal web El Comercio y La República durante los tres primeros meses del año 2020 / Analysis of the construction of journalistic infographics on the coronavirus in Peru, published on the web portal El Comercio y La República during the first three months of 2020

Chumacero Vilcarromero, Jocelyn Arlette 25 October 2021 (has links)
Reporting on specialized topics is usually not that easy given the complexity of the terms and, sometimes, the transmission of the information can be so clear to the reader. However, there are journalistic genres such as infographics whose function is to facilitate the reader's grasp of the message, through a concise, clear and direct content, and also by the harmonious combination of different textual and visual elements. Precisely, to develop this research, the journalistic infographic has been chosen to analyze its construction through the identification of its classification, its journalistic aspects, its textual elements and its visual elements that compose it, in infographics focused on a relevant event worldwide such as the coronavirus in Peru. A total of 14 infographics were analyzed (7 from the El Comercio web portal and 7 from the La Republica web portal) published during the first three months of 2020, where it is verified that both media built their infographics based on thematic milestones of the coronavirus; In other words, as the events progressed, more components were incorporated onto the scene. / Tesis

A conceptual model of a customer empowerment portal : A qualitative case study about customer’s digital information and communication needs in a B2B company

Pham, Mi January 2024 (has links)

Assessment of information utilisation : a maintenance and operational view, SASOL Infragas as case study / Gerhardt Francois Vosloo

Vosloo, Gerhardt Francois January 2013 (has links)
Sasol Infragas uses various maintenance information systems that support operational and maintenance personnel in their everyday environment. These systems have been in operation for more than two years. Currently, there are four maintenance information systems in use at Infragas, these are; alarm management, deviation management, overall efficiency management, and rotating equipment management. The information from these systems is stored on intranet portals which are accessible to all Infragas employees. This paper aimed to analyse the extent to which these portals are being utilised by Infragas employees, if at all. This paper also investigated the employees’ mind-set towards the maintenance information systems. This will assist in understanding which systems enhancements can be made to further improve employee engagement. These objectives were achieved by means of two methods. The first method was an actual usage measurement. This identified which employees were using the portals, as well as the usage frequency. This investigation method gave a real indication of the system usage and highlighted any shortfalls in employees’ interaction with the portals. The second method was a questionnaire, given to Infragas employees. The first section analysed whether the Infragas maintenance information systems are an accepted technology by investigating whether systems are being used by portal users. This was done by means of a technology acceptance model. The questionnaire also aimed to gather information on portal quality characteristics. This would indicate which quality characteristics are important to Infragas employees. Maintenance information system quality needs will differ from employee to employee. This information could improve the quality of interaction between the employees and the portals. The questionnaire also aimed to examine employees’ attitudes towards maintenance information systems. This section investigated whether employees felt that maintenance information systems improved plant performance and were beneficial to the Infragas environment. These investigations revealed valuable information for the improvement of these systems. The connection between the results of the two methods also indicated if both methods were valid. The information gathered from this study was communicated back to the Sasol Infragas management team. Recommendations for possible system improvements, which would increase employee system interaction, were also made. / MIng (Development and Management Engineering), North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2014

Transcript Abundance of Photorhabdus Insect-Related (Pir) Toxin in Manduca sexta and Galleria mellonella Infections

Castagnola, Anaïs, Mulley, Geraldine, Davis, Nathaniel, Waterfield, Nicholas, Stock, S. 29 September 2016 (has links)
In this study, we assessed pirAB toxin transcription in Photorhabdus luminescens laumondii (strain TT01) (Enterobacteriaceae) by comparing mRNA abundance under in vivo and in vitro conditions. In vivo assays considered both natural and forced infections with two lepidopteran hosts: Galleria mellonella and Manduca sexta. Three portals of entry were utilized for the forced infection assays: (a) integument; (b) the digestive route (via mouth and anus); and (c) the tracheal route (via spiracles). We also assessed plu4093-2 transcription during the course of a natural infection; this is when the bacteria are delivered by Heterorhabditis bacteriophora nematodes. Transcript abundance in G. mellonella was higher than in M. sexta at two of the observed time points: 15 and 18 h. Expression of pirAB plu4093-2 reached above endogenous control levels at 22 h in G. mellonella but not in M. sexta. Overall, pirAB plu4093-2 transcripts were not as highly expressed in M. sexta as in G. mellonella, from 15 to 22 h. This is the first study to directly compare pirAB plu4093-2 toxin transcript production considering different portals of entry.

Evolution: advancing Communities of Practice in naval intelligence

McHale, Kevin J., Kendall, Raymond E. 06 1900 (has links)
Approved for public release, distribution is unlimited / The US Navy is embracing the principles of Knowledge Management (KM). One of the key components of KM is the Community of Practice. Communities of Practice are groups that form to share what they know, and to learn from one another regarding some aspect of their work. Organizations are strengthened through an improved network of contacts and enhanced productivity from their personnel. Personnel benefit through peer-group recognition and continuous learning. This thesis seeks to provide an understanding of how the Naval Intelligence Community, through the implementation of Communities of Practice, can reduce duplication of effort, increase collaboration between its personnel, and better support the resources in its people. In this thesis, we have provided a blueprint for building a successful unclassified Community of Practice for Naval Intelligence. This blueprint is designed to support replication on classified networks. / Lieutenant, United States Navy

Turrini, Olivier 03 June 2013 (has links)
Pancreticoduodenectomy (PD) for adenocarcinoma was safer during the last decades but did not improve survival. We sought to determine if technical changes during PD could improve survival.A) In a first study, we determine the presence of K-ras mutation in the venous margin of 23 PD's specimens. Thirteen specimens had K-ras mutation (kras+ group) and 10 specimens did not (kras- group). Except K-ras mutation status, tumors of the 2 groups were not different when comparing major histological findings (margin status, lymph node invasion, perineural invasion…). Overall 1- and 3-years survival of patients of kras- group versus kras+ group were 80% versus 84,6% and 16,7% versus 0% (p=0,03), respectively. Median survival of patients of kras- group versus kras+ group were 24 months versus 16 months (p=0,04), respectively.B) In a second study, we compared 19 patients with “excessive” portal vein resection during PD (PV group) with 19 matched patients who underwent PD without venous resection (control group). Median survival of patients of PV group versus control group were 42 months versus 22 months (p=0,04), respectively. In conclusion, we showed that the « genic margin » concept was consistent. Systematic portal vein resection could avoid positive genic margin and might be benefic for patient who underwent PD for resecable adenocarcinoma.
