Poimenická služba vážně nemocným a umírajícím. Přínos logoterapie poimenice / Pastoral service to ill and dying. The Logotherapy contribution to the poimenMartelliová, Lenka January 2015 (has links)
In my thesis, I focused on the topic of poimenic in the care of seriously ill and dying in biblical context and specialized care, with respect to the tradition of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church, which includes the concept of spiritual care and theme of sacraments. I described the spiritual needs of the sick and dying, the means of this care for them, which are: interview, prayer, sacraments, and an accompanying person. With regard to the target group of the topic of my thesis, I deal with psychotherapeutic approach of logotherapy: the context of its establishment, the importance of the author, by the very meaning of the term and the idea of the values of V. E. Frankl, the topic of freedom and responsibility, tragic triad and techniques of this psychotherapeutic school. In conclusion, I mention the benefits of logotherapy in the pastoral care of the seriously ill and dying. My thesis shows the importance of poimenic and logotherapy in the service of seriously ill and dying. Logotherapy enables the patients to understand their life story in a deeper way. It can also serve to an accompanying person, in his/her service, his/her life and understanding of the seriously ill and dying, to whom he/she comes. Logotherapy is also a tool to help those whose lives are not accompanied with practiced faith in the God. It...

Benediktova kniha - Řehole západu / Benedict's Book - Monastic Rule of WesternValová, Terezie January 2016 (has links)
Summary: The thesis focuses on a piece of work in the form of a monastic rule which considerably influenced the whole Christian world, significantly contributed to the formation of spirituality of monastic communities, shaped the European culture and has much to say even today. The rule derives its name from its author, St. Benedict of Nursia. Given the considerable impact of his work on shaping the subsequent history of monasticism, St. Benedict is rightly called the Father of Western Monasticism. The first part introduces the Rule of Saint Benedict (Regula Benedicti). It refers to the period of its creation when certain common foundations of monastic life existed but lacked any solid anchoring. Despite the existence of other monastic rules, the Rule of Saint Benedict became the leading one thanks to its clarity and brevity. The second part deals with the Rule of the Master (Regula Magistri), an anonymous collection of monastic precepts which played a significant role as a source material for the Rule of Saint Benedict. St. Benedict took a large number of rules from it while he edited some of the original rules and intentionally omitted others. He moderated the strict text of the Rule of the Master since he was aware of human weakness. He infused the precepts with love. The third part, the longest in its...

Ibn Arabi's Sufi and poetic experiences (through his collection of mystical poems Tarjuman al-Ashwaq)Saidi, Mustapha January 2005 (has links)
Magister Artium - MA / This study is a theoretical research concerning Ibn Arabi's Sufi experience and his philosophy of the "unity of being" (also his poetical talent). I therefore adopted the historical and analytical methodologies to analyse and reply on the questions and suggestions I have raised in this paper. Both of the methodologies reveal the actual status of the Sufism of Ibn Arabi who came with a challenging sufi doctrine. Also, in the theoretical methodology I attempt to define Sufism by giving a panoramic history of it. I have also researched Ibn Arabi's status amongst his contemporaries for example, Al-Hallaj and Ibn Al Farid, and how they influenced him as a Sufi thinker during this time.In the analytical study I explore the poems "Tarjuman al Ashwaq" of Ibn Arabi, of which I have selected some poems to study analytically. Through this I discovered Ibn Arabi's Sufi inclinations and the criticisms of various literary scholars, theologians, philosophers and also sufi thinkers, both from the East and the West. In this analysis I have also focused on the artistic value of the poetry which he utilized to promote his own doctrine "the unity of being." / South Africa

Die logika van die geloof: Gebed as die raakpunt tussen rasionaliteit en ervaring by Rahner en Calvyn (Afrikaans)Brand, S J P 29 September 2006 (has links)
The topic of this study is: The logic of faith: prayer as the link between rationality and experience in a study of Karl Rahner and John Calvin. The term ‘logic of faith’ refers to the correct way of reasoning about faith. Why do a study about the theology of Rahner? Firstly because Rahner is known as the theologian who emphasises a unity between theology and spirituality. In exploring Rahner’s theology, the question that does arise is: is Rahner a philosopher or a theologian? Rahner endeavours to question the logic of theology. In his philosophical, theological and spiritual works one discovers the ‘heart’ of modern man. Rahner connects the logic of faith with the everyday experience of man. This experience is his point of departure in presenting the case for Christianity. In relation to this, Rahner sees prayer as a common human experience and the key in discovering the unity between rationality and experience. Prayer implies experiencing God in ordinary everyday life. Through prayer the lost unity between God and man is restored. Although Rahner’s definition of experience may be vague and therefore subject to criticism, he gives a positive interpretation of the concept of experience in the sense of acceptance of the ‘self’. To him, the logic of faith is closely related to the acceptance of the ‘self’. Rahner’s view give rise to the following question: Does the truth of a theological statement present itself in experience or in faith only? This question is also put to the reformed tradition of which Calvin is a representative. Both Rahner and Calvin stress the unity between theology and spirituality. Knowing God and understanding man are inseparable concepts. Yet we a find an emphasis in Calvin’s theology, that we do not see in Rahner’s theology. Calvin accepts, unconditionally, the revelation of God in Jesus Christ as the source of faith. True understanding of human nature is dependant on God’s revelation in Scripture. To Calvin, the logic of faith goes against common human experience and rationality. We ask the question about the logic of faith; prayer directs us to the source of the answer: the Word of God. This is the truth that the reformers rediscovered. The logic of faith implies a living relationship with Jesus Christ through His Word and Spirit and prayer is the main exercise of this relationship. In this sense prayer is the Urakt of Christian ethics, the first step in becoming a disciple. This we see in Calvin’s exegesis of the Lord’s Prayer. The logic of faith and therefore faith itself become mysticism without God’s revelation through Scripture. This study concludes that prayer is a neglected theme in the reformed tradition. Rahner and Calvin give us a new appreciation for the logic of faith and prayer as an integral part thereof. / Thesis (DD (Dogmatics and Christian Ethics))--University of Pretoria, 2007. / Dogmatics and Christian Ethics / unrestricted

Previous issue date: 2015-06-26 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The purpose of this research is to answer the question how prayer, as linguistic utterance, has curative
effectiveness. Knowing why the benzedura rite attached to pray makes operational the therapeutic
healing of cultural origin illnesses. And in that case, the cure of diseases caused by the spell, such as
evil eye, weakness, brokenness, stickleback fallen, and others. In order to answer these questions, this
research is founded on the work How to do things with words, which gave birth to theory of speech
acts of John Austin (1962), and whereby the act of "saying is doing." According to John Austin's
theory, in fact, the symbolic effects of prayer are related to the ritual of prayer and faith, which
produce healing through prayer ritual that is performed by traditional healer, and those who seek them
and believe in her ritual. Notwithstanding this theory was further developed by John Searle (1969)
with the work Speech Acts. Even so this theory of speech acts was flawed; this is why it was expanded
to deal with the various types of linguistic acts whether constative or performative; so all speech acts
have an illocutionary force. That is, the speech acts in the new pragmatic are all performatic acts
(happy or unhappy according to Austin). The performance of language in this new pragmatic was
conceptualized by several authors as Derrida, Rajagopalan, and Paul Ottoni, among others. In this new
pragmatic performance of the language which was conceptualized initially by Austin and later by
several authors as Derrida, Rajagopalan, Paul Ottoni, among others. In fact, the performativity of
language is what determines through locutionary act. In performativity (speech-action), the subject
(self), to perform an act of specific speech is not enough by himself to perform the action, but only if
he is the right guy for this. It is therefore with this in mind that this investigation will chase to
apprehend the symbolic effectiveness of prayer. As such this paper aims to identify the symbolic
effects of prayer on the suffering client, from the perspective of 'symbolic effectiveness' of Lévi-
Strauss, in accordance with the performativity of Austin; namely the prayer is a performatic speech
act, so it is an act of effectively speech against socially bounded diseases (diseases arising spell). John
Austin's theory points out that, in fact, the symbolic effects of prayer are related to the ritual of
benzedura and faith, and they produce healing, which it is achieved by the action of rezadeiras .
The methodology used in this study was the systematic or bibliographical review, which has as its
premise set up a survey of the state of art in pragmatic. Finally, a holistic health perspective, the prayer
can be used as complementarity between therapeutic approaches with a different logic such as
biomedicine, among others. The prayer as symbolic efficacy is a healing instrument used by
rezadeiras (Brazilian women healers) as a result of the northeastern Brazilian culture. It should and
can be used according to the sociocultural context. Indeed, what it should be done is to align these two
systems because both are products of Brazilian culture and all take care of healthcare of the people.

Nová synagoga Trutnov / New synagogue in TrutnovMydlár, Lukáš January 2020 (has links)
The subject of the diploma thesis is design of an architectural study of the New synagogue in Trutnov. The first synagogue on this location was destroyed in 1938. Only the foundation system of the first synagogue have been preserved. This architectural study creates space for the recovery of the Jewish community in Trutnov. The Jewish community needs space for daily and spiritual life. The buliding program is therefore divided into two main objects. The synagogue with a prayer room and a mikveh is located on same place as the first synagogue. The preserved foundation system of the first synagogue creates a barrier from the sloping terrain for the new synagogue. This creates a symbiosis of the original and the new. The community center contains spaces for education, administration, catering and celebrations. The location of the community center respects the original villas, which are located close.

Palestinian Muslims converting to Christianity : effective evangelistic methods in the West BankDunning, Craig A. January 2013 (has links)
This thesis provides the findings of an explanatory case study that utilized
elements of ethnographic research to discover effective evangelistic methods
being practiced among Palestinian Muslims in the West Bank. With the
assistance of gatekeepers, twenty-four former Muslims were asked to explain
how they were evangelized, with a particular focus on evangelistic methodology,
the barriers to faith the respondents encountered, solutions to those barriers, and
motivations to consider conversion.
This qualitative study follows the research model of Thom Rainer (2001) by
asking those who have actually converted to describe the things that were helpful
in the process of their coming to faith. For a theoretical framework it utilizes a
nuance of McKnight’s (2002) theory of conversion with an emphasis on crisis
providing an intersection of the natural and supernatural for the purpose of
conversion.
This thesis investigates examples of effective evangelism within the context of
the West Bank, giving thorough consideration to Palestinian Nationalism and
Islam as overarching cultural influences. It considers fruitful practices being
practiced globally among Muslims, comparing those with what was found being
practiced in the West Bank. The advocates represented in this report were
primarily Palestinians born and raised in the West Bank, with the exception of
three messianic Jewish Israelis and an American missionary. Additionally, they
were evangelicals who generally utilized a contextually sensitive, traditional
mission approach rather than an Insider model. The end result is a knowledge base that can be helpful for future evangelism
of Muslims in the West Bank or other similar contexts. / Thesis (PhD)--University of Pretoria, 2013. / gm2014 / Science of Religion and Missiology / unrestricted

Posvěcení podle Jan 17, 13-19 / Sanctification according to John 17: 13-19Boržiková, Martina Kateřina January 2017 (has links)
Sanctification according to John 17: 13-19 The diploma thesis deals with an exegesis of John 17:13-19 with emphasis on an interpretation of the verses 17 and 19 and within them especially on the meaning of the term sanctification. The first chapter presents a brief introduction to the Gospel of St. John, the second one shows the chosen pericope in a contextual view and subsequently brings its literary-grammatical analysis. The third chapter focuses on an analysis of the selected biblical-theological terms which are fundamental for understanding of the pericope. The last chapter brings the exegesis itself with the aid of selected commentaries. The aim of the thesis is to interpret the presented pericope and to get to its deeper sense especially in connection with the term sanctification. The method used in this thesis is an analysis of the original text and a comparison of selected commentaries.
