Smart Parking System

Yadavalli, Siri Chandana January 1900 (has links)
Master of Science / Department of Computing and Information Sciences / Daniel A. Andresen / Locating a parking spot during peak hours in most populated areas like shopping malls, universities, exhibitions or convention centers is difficult for the drivers. The difficulty rises from not knowing where the available spots may be at that required time. Smart parking is a solution to metropolitan cities to reduce congestion, cut vehicle emission totals and save persons' time by helping them in finding a spot to park. Smart Parking is a parking system, usually a new one that is equipped with special structured devices (things) to detect the available parking slots at any parking area. This is an application based on Internet of Things (IoT) that in Real-Time environment have sensors and devices embedded into parking spaces, transmitting data on the occupancy status; and the vehicle drivers can search for parking availability using their mobile phones or any infotainment system that is attached to the vehicle. Hence the driver would know where there is an available spot to park his vehicle in less time, reducing the energy consumption and air pollution. The Client or the sensor posts the parking slot occupancy status to a web service URL. The Java based web service is built using Spring and Hibernate to connect to the backend system. The web service (.war) file is deployed on Apache Tomcat Server and the backend used is MySQL database.

Easy Parking

Galarreta Alemán, Mariafe, Perez Silva, Neri, Sato Noriega , Akemi, Torres Ramírez , Ingrid Fabiola, Torres Lázaro, Rommel Jair 15 July 2020 (has links)
In Lima, the number of cars and trucks has increased, despite this, there is no adequate infrastructure, which generates a parking deficit for the number of people who buy new cars (Gestión, 2018). A report by INEI (2018) states that parking spaces are scarce for the 20% increase in cars from 2014 to 2018. Despite this, parking spaces have not been increased in the same proportion due to the lower amount of free land to operate. Consequently, it has not been possible to cover the parking demand at present (Municipality of Lima, 2017). For this reason, Easy parking was created, an innovative parking system in the historic center of Lima that consists of solving the shortage of parking lots, a rotary and automatic parking system that uses the vertical space of the air to park and not horizontal space. With this technology, Easy Parking will be able to park 10 cars instead of 2 like the traditional parking lots of the competition, being an alternative solution to vehicular congestion and the lack of parking on site. In addition, to make business more efficient and innovative, a mobile application was created to reserve parking spaces available online. After analyzing the market and designing the technical specifications of the service, it is concluded that Easy Parking is a viable and profitable project due to its indicators that confirm its profitability and viability. / Trabajo de investigación

Modélisation et simulation du système de stationnement pour la planification de la mobilité urbaine : application au territoire de la cité Descartes / Modeling and simulation parking system for urban mobility planning : application to district of the cité Descartes

Boujnah, Houda 14 December 2017 (has links)
Indeed, restrictions by scarcity or price penalize the automobile mode and increase the attractiveness of alternative travel modes, which have less impact on the environment. However, restrictive management increases the difficulty of finding an available spot, cruising for parking and traffic congestion, which raises the environmental effect of each of the subsidiary car journeys. This thesis deals with the quantitative problem of the supply and demand of car parking in urban areas through the prism of eco-design to make planning more sustainable. It proposes a simulation model which allows to study parking management plans, focusing on the technical functioning of the system and its interaction with road traffic. The first part proposes a comprehensive overview of the evolution of urban parking in public policies in France, followed by a theoretical analysis of the issues and the challenges raised by an eco-design approach of parking. A systemic exploration centered on its physical, functional and spatial dimensions is then given. Finally, a methodology for diagnosing parking practices at the level of an agglomeration based on a household travel survey is developed and illustrated by an application to the Île-de-France in 2010.The second part is devoted to the spatial modeling of the parking system. It begins with a review of specific literature. Then, we propose a static treatment of the interactions between parking and road traffic at the local level. A spatialized network assignment model (ParkCap model) is developed. It enables to model the joint choices of network route and parking lot and explicitly considers supply capacities constraints and the phenomenon of cruising for parking on the road network. The model’s performance is demonstrated by two numerical examples. Lastly, the structure of the computer simulator prototype is briefly presented. The third and final part provides an application of the model to the strategic planning of parking in the district of Cité Descartes. After a territorial diagnosis of the study area and its parking system, a simulation of the 2010 reference state is implemented. The application demonstrates the ability of the ParkCap tool to simulate a real network and to evaluate several parking management plans. We extend it to a prospective study of the parking system by 2030. By anticipating the urban transformations associated with the Greater Paris Express project, three contrasting scenarios of parking supply are compared and evaluated

Bytový dům "Vacek" / Apartment building "Vacek"

Vacek, Pavel January 2015 (has links)
I have designed the construction of a apartment building with multifunctional usage. A significant element is the internal automatic parking system, which is a relief for the residents of the house on a street crowded with parked cars. On the ground floor is a lucrative cafe with sitting area and two bowling lines. The house contains 18 housing units for 4-6 people. People are attracted by prestigious location with views of the city Brno on the dominant historical monuments and are attracted by a pleasant interior of the apartments, too. They are logically divided into 4 zones - day, night, working and relaxing. For relaxation, they may use the spacious balconies, terraces and a common area in the garden with children's play area. One part of this work is a focus on securing of construction pit and foundation of a building, which is almost a technical delicacy.
