Trata-se de uma etnografia que visa interpretar a produção cultural da periferia paulistana, a partir do trabalho desenvolvido pela Cooperifa (Cooperação Cultural da Periferia) nos anos de 2001 e 2011. Entre outras atividades, este autodenominado movimento cultural promove saraus literários que operam como encontros comunitários e oportunizam novas opções de lazer, produção e participação político-cultural. Nesse sentido, busco apreender os discursos acerca da periferia, tanto no que se refere ao espaço social quanto à sua cultura peculiar, construído pelos protagonistas deste movimento no cenário contemporâneo. Observa-se, assim, um processo de produção cultural em que não somente os produtos e circuitos de consumo periféricos apresentam-se como soluções criativas ao mercado cultural, mas, também, coloca novamente os moradores da periferia no centro da cena pública, a partir da elaboração de uma agenda comum. / This is an ethnography that aims to interpret the cultural production of the suburbs of São Paulo, from the work done by Cooperifa (Cultural Cooperation in the Periphery) between 2001 and 2011. Among other activities, cultural movement that promotes self-styled literary soirees that operate as community meetings and nurture new leisure facilities, production and participation in political and cultural. In this sense, seeking to understand the speeches about the periphery, both in terms of social space as to its peculiar culture, built by the protagonists of this movement in a contemporary setting. There is thus a process of cultural production that not only the consumer products and peripheral circuits are presented as creative solutions to the cultural market, but also raises again the residents of the periphery in the center of the public stage, from the development of a common agenda.

Este trabalho busca analisar a apropriação recente da expressão \"literatura marginal\" por escritores oriundos da periferia, tomando como ponto de partida o conjunto de autores que publicaram nas três edições especiais Caros Amigos/ Literatura Marginal, nos anos de 2001, 2002 e 2004. A pista deixada por essas publicações era que, mais do que o perfil sociológico dos participantes ou um determinado tipo de literatura, a junção das categorias literatura e marginalidade por tais escritores encobria uma atuação cultural específica, que está relacionada a um conjunto de experiências e elaborações compartilhadas sobre marginalidade e periferia, assim como a um vínculo estabelecido entre criação literária e realidade social. Por isso, além de apresentar empiricamente essa nova geração de escritores marginais, esta pesquisa visou articular a formação interna do grupo e seu significado mais geral, buscando demonstrar como um conjunto de idéias e vivências compartilhadas possibilitou que moradores da periferia, tradicionalmente excluídos como sujeitos do processo simbólico, pudessem entrar em cena para produzir sua própria imagem, dando origem a uma intensa movimentação cultural em bairros da periferia paulistana. / This work intends to analyze the recent appropriation of the expression \"marginal literature\" for deriving writers of the periphery, being taken as starting point the set of authors who had published in three special editions of Caros Amigos/ Literatura Marginal, in the years of 2001, 2002 and 2004. The hint left for these publications was that, more than the sociological profile of the participants or a stricted kind of literature, the junction of the categories literature and marginality for such writers hid a cultural specific performance, which is linked to a set of experiences and elaborations shared on marginality and periphery, as well as a link established between literary creation and social reality. Therefore, besides empirically to present this new generation of writers delinquents, this research aimed at to articulate the internal formation of the group and its meaning more general, searching to demonstrate as a set of ideas and shared experiences made possible that living of the periphery, traditionally excluded as citizens of the symbolic process, they could enter in scene to produce its own image, giving origin to an intense cultural movement in paulistana neighbourhoods of periphery.

O objetivo desta tese é basicamente problematizar quatro questões: quais são os sentidos e os significados que estão em jogo para o termo periferia; qual é a influência da atuação dos coletivos artísticos da periferia na formulação de um novo significado para o termo periferia; por que houve uma explosão de atividades culturais na periferia nos últimos vinte anos e; qual o caráter e o alcance da ação política desses coletivos artísticos. Para tanto, o texto parte do contexto social da década de 1990, quando as periferias de São Paulo sofriam os desdobramentos do neoliberalismo e um alto índice de homicídios. Logo, o texto aponta algumas mudanças ocorridas nas últimas duas décadas nessas periferias. Algumas delas são o aumento do número de coletivos artísticos nesses bairros, tema principal desta tese; o crescimento evangélico e a presença do PCC. Também se discorre sobre o aumento da atuação de ONGs e do poder público nas periferias. Por fim, o texto conceitua a obra do grupo de rap Racionais MC´s como sendo a narrativa legitimada por essa população para contar sua história e discorre sobre uma nova subjetividade surgida na periferia e centrada no orgulho dessa condição. O indivíduo que passa a agir politicamente a partir desse orgulho é denominado neste trabalho como sujeito periférico. Também se problematiza neste trabalho o labor estético e fundamentalmente político desses coletivos, em um contexto de crise das formas clássicas de mobilização política. / The aim of this thesis is basically to discuss four issues: what are the senses and the meanings that are at stake for the term periphery; what is the influence of the periphery artistic collective action in formulating a new meaning to the term periphery; why has there been an explosion of cultural activities in the periphery in the last twenty years; which is the character and scope of the political action of such artistic collectives. Therefore, the text starts off from the social context of the 1990s, when the periphery of São Paulo suffered the consequences of neoliberalism and a high murder rate. Soon, the text indicates some changes which have happened within the last two decades in these peripheries. Some of those are the increasing number of cultural collectives in these neighborhoods, the main theme of this thesis; the evangelical growth and the presence of the PCC. It also discusses the increased presence of NGOs and public authorities in the periphery. Finally, the text defines the work of the rap group Racionais MC\'s as the narrative legitimized by this population to tell their story and discusses a new subjectivity emerged in the periphery and centered on the pride of such condition. The individual who starts to act politically from that pride is termed here as a peripheral subject (sujeito periférico). The text also discusses how three discursive fields obtained the preponderance to define what periphery is in different historical times. These discursive fields: the academic discourse, the artistic collectives of the periphery and the entertainment industry. Therefore, it conducts a thorough historical, social and political analysis of the work of the Racionais MC\'s trying to understand why the discourse produced by this group has caused such an impact on the peripheries and has created a new way of understanding what periphery is to the whole of society, while influencing the very self-image that periphery dwellers have of themselves. Intertwined with this phenomenon, the paper discusses how, in the past twenty years, there has been a modification to the term periphery, which no longer comes to be defined only by the binomial poverty and violence, but also by the elements culture and potential. However, this potential of the peripheral population may either be used for their political statement or for marketing purposes, expressed in a certain celebration of the poor which is currently observed and which on the one side empties the critical nature of the term periphery and on the other side celebrates the so-called \"Class C\". Finally, this thesis presents the results of an ethnographic research conducted with artistic collectives in the periphery of São Paulo by discussing how these collectives influenced in the resemantization of the term periphery. In addition, this paper discusses the fundamentally political and aesthetic work of these collectives in the context of a crisis of the classical forms of political mobilization.

The dissertation thesis covers the theme of the relationships between the changes of administrative borders and the peripheriality of space on the territory of Czechia since the mid-19th century. The author first defines the fundamental objectives and discusses the bases of the research of changes of administrative borders in Czechia in the process of polarization of space, as well as the general background and approaches to the issue of borders and regions, while emphasizing the concept of inner peripheries and internal borderland. The thesis attempts to contribute to the debate regarding: the importance of administrative borders of regions of different scales in the polarization of space; identification, analysis and evaluation of areas that changed their administrative affiliation at the level of mesoregions (regions) and microregions (districts) on the territory of Bohemia and the Vysočina Region in particular; evaluation of the degree of stability of administrative regions and stability of centers of these regions; and to assessment of the importance of the borders of regions in the context of problems associated with the development of peripheries. This thesis discusses the process of space polarization, in the concrete the issues of human and social capital in inner peripheries in Czechia. The first part of the thesis deals with selected theoretical and methodological concepts of research of space polarization and human and social capital. Following empirical part concerns with the analysis of human and social capital in the larger territory of inner periphery located in borderland of the Central and Western Czechia. This analysis was based on quantitative evaluation. On the basis of the results of this analysis the analysis of human and social capital was accomplished in the territory of Manětín region. This analysis was on the contrary based on qualitative evaluation. In conclusion there is an effort to consider the quality and potential of human and social capital for the development of Manětín region. The thesis is focused on the analysis of peripherals for the presence of post-industrial phenomena. We are mainly focusing on the outer periphery. The object is to reveal the main factors and barriers that affect peripheral development and help periphery overcome their positional disadvantage. Analysis of a survey conducted in the municipalities of Slavonice and Waidhofen an der Thaya indicated fundamental differences in relation to the post-modern values between these two geographically close locations. Structured interviews with community representatives bring out certain details on cooperation and the barriers to individual development. We can conclude from the results that the different social behaviour of peripherals caused by distinct historical and political development has not grown closer to the Austrian model even after 25 years of democracy in the Czechia. Built up areas are dynymically evolving component of suburban landscape. Prague periphery is the area, where this evolution is fastest. This can be a problem because the very fertile soils are located in Prague fringe. Their loss is therefore connected with the law protection of agricultural soils. A set of 22 cadasters around the Prague made the area of interest of this master thesis. They were defined to cover the variability of geological substrate, climate, relief and soils and also some socioeconomic parametres (distance form highway and from Prague centre). I used a several data about built up areas to explain the trends in set: Stable cadaster, Third military mapping, aerial photos from 1950s and present orthophoto. The development of built up areas in the final set was assesed by a several parametres which contain the total area, structure, fertility of sealed land and diversity of soils. Problem of determining soil diversity was one of the goals of master thesis. Taxonomical dendrogram of soils with including taxonomical differences is the output of this part. Main trend of development were assesed by using multidimensional statistic method: classical scaling and hierarchical clustering. A tese \"More with less\" realiza uma indagação propositiva sobre uma nova geração de Equipamentos Coletivos para as periferias da Montevidéu Metropolitana. Nessas regiões a intervenção publica historicamente tem privilegiado ações isoladas de habitação, gerando territórios fragmentados e carentes de espaço público e centralidades. A hipótese, com base em estudos desde as ciências do homem, propõe a reformulação dos equipamentos coletivos desde a complexidade como paradigma e se baseia na desespecialização programática do projeto, visando uma viragem de qualidade na criação de urbanidade nas periferias da Grande Montevidéu. As condições de formulação desses novos equipamentos coletivos implicam: oferta de espaço publico de qualidade, escala significativa, imagem representativa que proponha um aporte estético e cultural, planejamento em rede visando o estabelecimento de relações urbanas ativadoras, concentração sinérgica de atividades e apertura programática para evoluir no tempo segundo a mudança das necessidades sociais e as politicas publicas. Esses equipamentos se constituem em Fórum, no sentido dos antigos romanos: um conjunto de equipamentos e espaços públicos atratores que estruturam e urbanizam. A definição do Fórum é estabelecida em termos abstratos como metaprojeto e é submetida a uma indagação projetual em contexto de laboratórios de ensino e pratica do projeto. O conjunto de projetos imagina, reconhece e expande as possibilidades da hipótese. / The doctoral dissertation \"More with less\" carries out a proactive research on a new generation of public equipment for the peripheral areas of metropolitan Montevideo. In these urban zones, public intervention has historically favored isolated housing developments which have produced fragmentary and unqualified public spaces and centralities. The hypothesis, based on human sciences studies, puts forward a reformulation of collective equipment assuming complexity as a new paradigm and starting from programmatic despecialization, aiming at improving urban conditions in the peripheral areas of metropolitan Montevideo. The formulation conditions for this new public equipment include: quality public space, significant scale, representative presence introducing aesthetic and cultural contributions, network design, looking forward to create triggering urban relationships, synergic concentration of activities and an open range of programs, in order to evolve in accordance with changes in social needs and political agendas. This equipment will turn into a forum (as in ancient Roman cities): a group of attracting pieces of equipment and public spaces capable of structuring and urbanizing the land. The definition of the forum is abstract. It is conceived as a metaproject and is the subject of a design research carried out within design teaching and practice labs. The set of projects imagines, recognizes and expands the hypothesis potential.
