Do the writing tools affect the students’ writing development? : A study of writing logbook with iPad or pencilLindholtz, Frida January 2017 (has links)
The purpose with this study is to find myself a perception if the tools that are being used in the writing process has any meaning for students' learning. I've choosed to examine two classes in preschool who are working with different tools for writing. One of them is using iPads and the other one is using pencils. The main goal with my survey is to get an understanding whether the logbook and the process that comes with it has any affects from the different tools that are being used in the process of writing in the logbook. Furthermore, I want to see if the students can develop during the writing of the logbook and if the development is dependent on the writing tool used by the student. The methods I have chosen are qualitative interviews, structured observations and a form of text analysis around the material logbook. My main material is the logbook. I have chosen 2 students from each class whose logbooks I studied from the beginning of the autumn term until today. Interviews were conducted with class teachers from each pre-school class. The two selected students from each class also participated in two interviews. The observations were performed under 8 logbook lessons based on an observation schedule. As a result, pupils developed no matter what tool they are writing with. What I also found out is that the two tools help to create the basis for writing but with different styles. I realized that the writing tools iPad and pen were difficult to investigate based on one of the syllabus requirements that the study aims at. None of the tools are less good, but it´s about getting teachers to become aware that the tools contribute differently to teaching students writing according to our frameworks. The reason for writing is placed in the early years. This means that students in pre-school have to exercise a lot and must be given the opportunity to try different writing tools to learn to feel safe in using them.

The parents involving in their child’s pre-school education in the city of Xalapa (mexico)Yunes Watty, Karla 16 December 2011 (has links)
This research started in Xalapa, in Veracruz, Mexico. Its objective is to improve the knowledge of parental participation and involvement in preschool education. One hundred and ninety-two parents, who had enrolled their child in one of the twenty-one participating kindergartens, were selected. The parents answered a questionnaire that we gave to them. With an exploratory analysis of the collected data, our objective was to understand not only differences but also the similarities between the parents and their involvement in the preschool environment; to identify the parent's way of participating and also their involvement; to discover the different activities in which the parents participated; to show the different elements that determine the parents implication in their child's preschool education; to evaluate the teachers role in the activities designed for the parents, and finally to determine the benefits for the child due to the parents participation. We analysed the answers from different perspectives: financial support for the kindergarten and their work schedule. Amongst the results found were that women's involvement is more important than the man's. The parent's past perception and their school experiences define their involvement in their child's preschool education. Finally, to have and maintain good relationship between family and the kindergarten is part of the day-to-day work of teachers and that is also a requirement for the parents.

Research section contains the results of a survey of contemporary interest in traditional manual works and identifies what impact has the manual works on the soft motoric skill of an early child. I have created an experimental and control group of children of around the same age and abilities. The experimental group participated a course of hand works. In post-tests I've found that there is a significant difference between the experimental and control group. The diploma thesis is mainly focused on monitoring Rohrer's index (RI) at preschool children in age of 3, 4, 5, and 6. The work is solving the question of mutual relation between Rohrer's index, sickness rate, and spontaneous activity of preschool children. Furthermore, Body Mass Index (BMI) is listed as another anthropometric index. In fact, BMI shouldn't be used for this age group but it's mentioned for its general knowledge. The anthropometric research includes the measurement of preschool's children body height and weight. 240 children were measured in total. Each age group contains 60 kids from which are always 30 boys and 30 girls. In addition, there is evaluated children's half year of preschool attendance, sickness, and spontaneous physical activity. The research is dealing with the question if body weight or height can influence children's sickness rate. Moreover, there is solved the association between kids' anthropometric indexes and physical activity. The data were processed through Student's t- test and the independence test 2 . As it is stated by professionals, the research has proven that Rohrer's index is decreasing in relation to age. The next result shows that children with lower anthropometric indexes are usually more spontaneously active. Kids with higher indexes are more...
