Úspěšnost projektů financovaných z prostředků EU / The success of projects funded by the EU

This thesis is thematically focuses on management of projects financed from EU funds. Goal of this work is in the theoretical part to explain the principles of EU regional policy and possible approaches to project management. The practical part is intended, based on a questionnaire survey, to assess the admissions to the management of projects by recipients of grants from the selected operating program. The thesis is divided, apart from the introduction informing about resolving issues and problems conclusion summarizing lessons learned, to a total of five parts. The first part deals with the principles of economic and social cohesion. The second part explains the continuity of operational programs for structural funds. Approach to the life cycle of the project and project management including management of the subsidy are subsumed in the third part. The fourth section describes the process of project management included a grant from the Operational Program Enterprise and Innovation. Last fifth part evaluates ques-tionnaire survey among recipients of grants from the ICT in enterprises focused on the suc-cess of such supported projects. The paper summarizes the principles of EU regional policy and structural funds, explains the procedures for project management involving the administration of grants and by re-search providing insight into the methods of project management and its impact on the success of projects supported from the ICT in enterprises.

Subject of research: evaluation of economic efficiency of investment projects. Objective of research: to develop a model for the evaluation of economic efficiency of investment projects based on the discounted cash flow methods and adapted to the Lithuanian business environment. The modern science of economics offers quite a wide range of methods for evaluating the economic efficiency of investments, however, most of them are highly time-consuming and involve complicated calculations. Whereas investors usually require a measure of investment projects‘ efficiency which is readily calculated, objective and easily understandable and which reveals the attractiveness of business ideas. Therefore, in the author‘s view, the current technique of evaluating investment projects based on cash flows can fully meet the investors‘ needs provided that specific features of the technique‘s application are taken into account. Based on the examinations involving the theoretical and application aspects of the analysis and evaluation of investment projects, i. e. the investment project‘s life cycle model, the cash flow calculation and the discount rate setting methods, as well as the main and auxiliary methods for evaluating investment projects‘ efficiency, a model for the evaluation of investment projects which enables the analysis and selection of alternative investment projects has been developed. / Mokslinių tyrimo objektas – investicinių projektų ekonominio efektyvumo vertinimas. Tyrimų tikslas – sukurti investicinių projektų ekonominio efektyvumo vertinimo modelį, pagrįstą diskontuotų pinigų srautų metodais ir pritaikytą Lietuvos verslo sąlygoms. Šiuolaikinis ekonomikos mokslas siūlo pakankamai platų investicijų efektyvumo rodiklių spektrą, tačiau daugeliu atvejų siūlomi metodai pasižymi daug išteklių reikalaujančiais ir gana sudėtingais skaičiavimais, o investuotojui reikalingas lengvai ir pakankamai greitai skaičiuojamas, objektyvus ir visiems suprantamas investicijų efektyvumo vertinimo matas, parodantis tam tikros verslo idėjos patrauklumą. Įvertinus šias aplinkybes, autoriaus nuomone, esama pinigų srautais grindžiama investicinių projektų vertinimo metodologija gali visiškai patenkinti investuotojų poreikius, su sąlyga, kad bus atsižvelgta į įvairius aspektus, susijusius su jos taikymo ypatumais. It summarizes the project management methodology and standards and integrates them into a unified information system, thus creating a sound platform that supports all company projects in all stages of their individual life cycles. This thesis analyses the current status of the application support and proposes extensions to the information system, which significantly increase its value.

The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the project management system in the organization and to suggest possible changes, which will help to improve the prosperity and continuity of the business. In the theoretical part, the author studied the available literature on the basis of which is written a literature review. The practical part describes the system of project management in the organizations. At the beginning there is described the chosen company furthermore individual phases of the project lifecycle, responsibilities of the various participants in the project, needed resources, budget of the project, communication between the participants and used software. Afterwards were described the greatest problems with project management in the company and were suggest possible changes to improve.

To this end, we used the perspective of Vygotsky to analyze the experience and life projects of these youth; and the constructionism to understand the meanings given to their daily lives. Work activity has historically been constructed as a central tool in human life, and when related to poor youth this comes as a way to occupy them. It has been identified that work is also a major concern among young people, representing autonomy, personal realization and supplying the financial need. The admission of youth into the labor market has been encouraged by society and State, and some social programs have been created aiming the training of these young people. But these policies continue to reaffirm the idea of labor as "disciplinarian" for young people who come from the lower classes. The Professional Learning Integrated Project has the objective to implement a program for the PETI students, in order to include them in the Young Apprentice Program. The research was possible through the History of topical life. The analytical perspective adopted here is guided in discursive practices using Association maps for identification and understanding of interpretative repertoires. Ten people have attended to this research, being five males and five females who participated in the Integrated Project. To delimit the number of participants, we used the saturation criteria. What was found from the data is that we are talking about a plural youth, poor, where some have a history of child labor. Experience in the preparatory course in UFPB emerges as a tool that helps to reach the professional course in SENAI, taking proportions in addition to strengthening the Portuguese and mathematics skills; The importance of professional training plus the individual effort is stressed in the speech of everyone; the professional course is presented as more exciting than the school, because encounters an applicability for what is taught. The learn to behave emerges in the speech acts of the young people interviewed as if it was a constituent part of the training course. Youngsters also reveal in their speech experiences that lead to learning, difficulties and occupation of new spaces, reporting the professional course as a landmark in their lives. In all life projects developed by young people work emerges as a key category, even those who want to do a regular graduation course plan to do so alongside the job since they need to maintain themselves. / A presente dissertação teve como objetivo analisar as vivências e as perspectivas de futuro oportunizadas pela experiência na formação de jovens egressos do Projeto Integrado de Aprendizagem Profissional. Para tal, utilizou-se a perspectiva Vigotskiana para analisar as vivências e projetos de vida destes jovens; e o construcionismo para buscar apreender os sentidos dados aos seus cotidianos. A atividade de trabalho vem, historicamente, sendo construída como uma ferramenta central na vida humana, e quando se trata de juventude pobre esta vem como uma forma de ocupá-los. Tem sido identificado que o trabalho é também uma das maiores preocupações entre os jovens, representando autonomia, realização pessoal e suprindo a necessidade financeira. A entrada do jovem no mercado de trabalho tem sido encorajada pela sociedade e pelo Estado, surgindo alguns programas sociais com a função de promover a formação desses jovens. Porém essas políticas continuam a reafirmar a ideia do trabalho como disciplinador para os jovens advindos das classes populares. O Projeto Integrado de Aprendizagem Profissional tem como objetivo a implementação de um programa que visa atender os alunos do PETI, de forma a incluí-los no Programa Jovem Aprendiz. A pesquisa foi possibilitada através da História de vida tópica. A perspectiva de análise aqui adotada pauta-se nas práticas discursivas utilizando-se dos mapas de associação para a identificação e compreensão dos repertórios interpretativos. Participaram da presente pesquisa de dissertação dez sujeitos, sendo cinco do sexo masculino e cinco do sexo feminino egressos do Projeto Integrado. Para delimitar o número de participantes, utilizou-se o critério de saturação. O que se encontra a partir dos dados é que estamos falando de uma juventude plural, pobre, em que uma parte tem o histórico de trabalho infantil. A experiência no curso preparatório na UFPB emerge enquanto uma ferramenta que o proporciona chegar ao curso profissionalizante no SENAI, tomando proporções para além do reforço do português e matemática; A importância da formação profissional somada ao esforço individual é sublinhada nos atos de fala de todos; o curso profissionalizante se apresenta como mais estimulante que a escola formal, pois encontram uma aplicabilidade no que ali é ensinado. O aprender a se comportar emerge nas práticas discursivas de todos os jovens entrevistados como se fosse parte constituinte do curso de formação. Os jovens revelam ainda em seus atos de fala vivências que remetem a aprendizagem, dificuldades, ocupação de novos espaços, tendo profissionalização como um marco em suas vidas. Em todos os projetos de vida elaborados pelos jovens o trabalho emergiu enquanto uma categoria chave, mesmo aqueles que pretendem fazer um curso de graduação, planejam fazê-lo paralelamente ao trabalho, já que precisam se sustentar.

Sustainable project life cycle management : development of social criteria for decision-making

An initial analysis of sustainable project life cycle management methodologies’ current status highlighted that social and environmental aspects of sustainable development are not addressed effectively. An acceptable model aimed at addressing the various sustainable development aspects from a project management perspective is thus needed. This study’s main research objective was consequently to develop the different elements of such a model for social business sustainability. The research focused on the three main research questions discussed below. Which lifecycles should be considered when evaluating the project’s possible impacts? Projects implement or deliver certain products, which in turn, can produce other commodities sold by the company. The three lifecycles, i.e. project, asset and product, were studied to determine which lifecycles to consider when evaluating projects’ possible impacts. It was concluded that it is specifically the project’s deliverables and its associated products that have economic, social and environmental consequences. These life cycles must therefore be considered as part of the project life cycle when evaluating social impacts. What social business sustainability impacts or aspects should be considered in the project life cycle? A sustainable development framework that can be applied to projects directly to ensure their alignment with sustainable development does not exist at present. A social sustainability assessment framework as part of a sustainability assessment framework for operational initiatives was consequently developed and introduced. The social framework was verified and validated by means of case studies, a survey and a Delphi Technique case study to test the framework’s completeness and relevance. How should project management methodologies be adopted to ensure incorporation of social business sustainability? The research indicated that the various social aspects are addressed in different ways in the individual asset life cycle phase. The social criteria in the framework should therefore also be addressed in different ways in the project management methodologies. A Social Impact Indicator (SII) calculation procedure, based on a previously introduced Life Cycle Impact Assessment (LCIA) calculation procedure for environmental Resource Impact Indicators (RIIs), was developed as a method to evaluate social impacts in the project life cycle phases. The first part describes two chosen methodologies, use of which, is based on knowledge of the company environment. The second part then describes the existing guidance documents that can be used as inspiration to create a new methodological document. The output of the thesis is the methodological project document, which takes into account both the principles and practices described in the context of general methodologies, current guidance documents and knowledge of the company environment.
