Kiribati, a small and low lying island country located on the equator, is vulnerable to impact of Global Warming. In response, Kiribati¡¦s Government continues and remains firm to fight the increase of pollution gases. Rather than just fighting using words, Kiribati seriously takes into consideration issues which promote the use of clean energy in all aspects. .This thesis emphasizes the use of large scale photovoltaic (PV) installation as a clean energy source that may help contribute in the total energy demand for this island. Here, a large photovoltaic generation system as a Distribution Generation (DG) to feed main utility network (i.e. PUB) on the island, assumed to be constructed in the National Main Stadium (NMS) at Betio Town as the DG Interconnection site, is analyzed. This PVGS has been investigated from two different perspectives: 1) Independent Power Producer (IPP) point of view, which is the design of the selling price of PV power generation and 2) Utility point of view, which is the design of saving costs incurred from PVGS contribution. PV power generation is simulated according to the hourly solar irradiation and temperature provided by the Weather Office in Kiribati. The cash flow of annual power generation, the operation and maintenance costs and the capital investment cost of the PVGS are then used to derive the payback time (PBT) and the internal rate of return (IRR) for the PVGS under different selling price of PV power generation. The voltage variation and the system losses of the distribution feeder, which serves the National Stadium, are also evaluated by executing the load flow analysis for the impact analysis of the PVGS. Results indicate that the reduction of voltage variation and system¡¦s losses can be obtained with the PVGS installed to provide the dispersed generation for the local loads. However, the PVGS penetration is limited due to the violation of voltage variation introduced by the large intermittent PV power generation. The selling price of PV generation has to be designed according to the conditions of solar irradiation and temperature so that sufficient incentives can be provided.

This diploma thesis presents processing of the design documentation for public service building. The scope of this work is in accordance with ordinance 499/2006 and latter amended 62/2013. There is a small brewery in the building, as well as a pub, tourist apartments and the owner's flat. Building is situated in Vranová, Blansko district. It is a three-story building without basement, roofed with flat and mono-pitched roofs. The ground floor consists of a pub, a brewery and a communication wing dividing the building in the middle. The second floor consists of hostel type tourist apartments with shared facilities. The third floor belongs exclusively to the owner of the building who has an apartment there. The building is bricked, complemented by an external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS). Floor structure consists of SPIROLL panels. Design documentation was developed in AutoCAD software.

This diploma thesis deals with creation of economically feasible business plan for establishment of pub facility with repair service in Brno. The created business plan proposal is based on the strategic analysis of the company surroundings, including making own marketing research to identify key factors influencing the entry and business of the new company on the market. Based on the analyzes, a suitable business strategy was chosen, which is further elaborated into partial parts in the form of marketing, operational, organizational and financial plans, including assessment of project risks and time schedule.

El objetivo del presente trabajo es justificar y sustentar la viabilidad de la realización del proyecto “Bar para mujeres FRAU”, el cual es temático (entre el cielo y el infierno), con temáticas de música por días, excelente experiencia de consumo, variedad e tragos y piqueos. Además de proporcionar un porcentaje de las ventas para la Liga Contra el Cáncer. Este estará ubicado en el distrito de Miraflores en Lima. Para ello, se hará un análisis general del negocio. También, se elaborará en planeamiento estratégico. Además, se realizará una investigación para la validación del mercado. Adicionalmente, se elaborará un plan de marketing, plan de operaciones, estructura organizacional y recursos humanos, y el plan económico financiero. (in English) The thesis aimed to explore the topos of inn in relation to the topos of journey in fantasy literature. The first step was to define the term fantasy literature with regard to the set of texts selected for the analysis; namely their connection to mythology and fairy tales, genres working with hero's initiation journey. Integral part of the thesis was to consider theoretical works focused on the image of pubs in literature, as well as a short description of the form and function of this topos in other genres. The subject of the analysis were inns from six fictional worlds representing a cross-section of the genre from the half of the 20th century until present time, while the selected examples fall mostly into the sub-genre of epic fantasy. The analysis showed that the inns have four primary functions: hero's intimate space, place of meeting and cognition, place of transformation and place of stories. Each of these functions is connected to a specific part of the initiation journey and represents its beginning, or one of its tests. All these functions are also connected to certain issues related to hero's psychological journey, namely the issue of trust, identity and will. The thesis design called Gallery of aviation tecnology and traditions of aviation at the airport Medlanky in Brno is engaged the future developement othe airport complex. Traditional wooden hangars are complemented with new buildings, the Gallery of aviation technology, the Faculty of Mechanical engineering department and Snackbar replacing U Krive vrtule pub. All these buildings are public in relation with operational part. All three buildings are wooden structures combined with glass facade directed to runway. Buildings are based on low energy consumption. The Pub and VUT department are inspired by the original hangars with gabled roof. The gallery is different. The building is a large-span hall whose structure is composed of glued wooden stiffened ribs. Design provides enough space for exhibits.

This diploma thesis deals with the business plan for the establishment of a new non-smoking pubs. The first part outlines the theoretical bases on which processing is practical. The resulting business plan in the practical part, based on the overall analysis of the market, in terms of both potential customers and existing competition. The conclusion will assess the viability and feasibility of the project.

It also tried to answer the following question: if and how did the author try to incorporate North-American models into the program of public education in Brazil? In order to perform such task, pamphlets the author/politician published between the years of 1861 and 1873 were examined. The analysis of such work allows identifying elements tha t are part of the program of public education aimed at by Tavares Bastos, and it emphasis that elements of the North- American models were used, mainly the one implemented by Horace Mann, and the ones presented by Aléxis Tocqueville, as an appropriate ama lgam to direct the Brazilian people towards the path of progress and civilization. By picking elements that constitute those models, Tavares Bastos built arguments in order to defend the idea of a free and universal school, mandatory education, co-education schools, and a teaching program dedicated mainly to knowledge based on practical principles that would provide the students with a kind of training that would be more adequate to the needs of workers from the fields of industry, commerce, and agriculture of that time. Therefore, the provinces should be equipped with schools whose mission would be preparing students to perform the tasks society demanded and to prepare them for democracy / Neste estudo a finalidade é compreender o modo como Tavares Bastos tratou a instrução pública brasileira, na década de 60 e início de 70 do século XIX, no que denominou de programa de instrução pública brasileira . Buscou-se também responder a seguinte questão: se e de que forma o autor procurou incorporar modelos ou referentes norteamericanos ao programa de instrução pública do Brasil? Na realização dessa tarefa foram examinados os panfletos que o autor/parlamentar publicou entre os anos de 1861 a 1873. A análise dessa produção permite identificar elementos que constituem o programa de instrução pública almejado por Tavares Bastos e afirmar que elementos de modelos norteamericanos foram mobilizados, sobretudo o implementado por Horace Mann e os apresentados por Aléxis Tocqueville, como um amálgama adequado para conduzir o povo brasileiro ao caminho do progresso e da civilização. Historically, the United States (US) electric grid has been a stable one-way power delivery infrastructure that supplies centrally-generated electricity to its predictably consuming demand. However, the US electric grid is now undergoing a huge transformation from a simple and static system to a complex and dynamic network, which is starting to interconnect intermittent distributed energy resources (DERs), portable electric vehicles (EVs), and load-altering home automation devices, that create bidirectional power flow or stochastic load behavior. In order for this grid of the future to effectively embrace the high penetration of these disruptive and fast-responding digital technologies without compromising its safety, reliability, and affordability, plug-and-play interoperability within the field area network must be enabled between operational technology (OT), information technology (IT), and telecommunication assets in order to seamlessly and securely integrate into the electric utility's operations and planning systems in a modular, flexible, and scalable fashion. This research proposes a potential approach to simplifying the translation and contextualization of operational data on the electric grid without being routed to the utility datacenter for a control decision. This methodology integrates modern software technology from other industries, along with utility industry-standard semantic models, to overcome information siloes and enable interoperability. By leveraging industrial engineering tools, a framework is also developed to help devise a reference architecture and use-case application process that is applied and validated at a US electric utility.
