Railway. A line of houses hidden in the fog. A majestic steam powered locomotive. Although the great era of steam engines is long over and the built railway network is unfortunately gradually losing its significance, this part of history forms an important part of technical evolution and its significance for the transformation of human society. The surroundings of the station buildings are now quiet places, through which people only passes towards their final destination. Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou-Šanov railway station is also dealing with this problem. The diploma thesis focuses on the project of tourist attractive objects for the revitalization of the location of Hrušovany railway station near the Czech-Austrian border. New buildings inspired by steam, as an element of strength and movement, complement the development of the railway station and apartment building. Together they complete another line in the layout of the station with the track.

The aim of the diploma thesis is the reconstruction of Adamov and Rajec-Jestrebi railway stations in order to safety and track capacity of the railway section Brno – Skalice nad Svitavou increasing. The right side of Brno station head end track number 4 are designed in the Adamov railway station. The three platform edges (3x170m) are designed. The safety conditions for the movement of persons with reduced mobility are ensured. Four drive-through traffic tracks and Blansko station head are kept. New substructure and drainage of the track number 4 are designed.

There were designed two platforms for disabled and handicapped persons in the railway station. The platforms were moved closed to village. The reconstruction solves an adjustment of station layout including design of drainage system, railway crossings and a linking of industrial track.

However, it is avoiding the extensive work to minimize investment.

The Personality of Josef Fanta and his Art Nouveau works This thesis will deal with the personality and Art Nouveau works of Josef Fanta, who lived from 1856 to 1954. In the first part, the thesis approaches the personality of Josef Fanta and outlines his style of historicism. The main part of the thesis will focus on Fanta's works influenced by Art Nouveau during the period 1897-1932. First, it will deal with his Art Nouveau buildings in Prague and also outside the Capital. Attention will be focused on the Railway Station building of Franz Joseph in Prague, today's main railway station, the Hlahol building and the Cairn of Peace Memorial. This thesis also introduces Fanta's tombs, headstones and memorials. The thesis touch on his rebuilding of old historical buldings and his influence within interior design, particulary his designs in the Austrian pavilion at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris and his decorations for the visit of Franz Joseph to Prague in 1907. Lastly, this thesis will try to define Fanta's motifs in the Art Nouveau style and his interpretation of Art Nouveau. It was necessary to design five platform edges with a height of the platform edge 550 mm above rail level in that context. Furthermore increased speed was designed in the main tracks. There was also included the design of reconstruction of drainage system of railway tracks.
