Uma história da disciplina matemática no Atheneu Sergipense durante a ação da reforma Francisco Campos (1938-1943) / A HISTORY OF MATHEMATICS IN DISCIPLINE ATHENEU SERGIPENSE ACTION DURING THE REFORM FRANCISCO FIELDS (1938-1943).

Souza, Suely Cristina Silva 04 April 2011 (has links)
This study aims to analyze the configuration of Mathematics in Atheneu Sergipense, according to the proposals set out by the Reformation Francisco Campos, between the years 1938 and 1943 in order to clarify the implementation process in the training of students and teachers' performance that institution. The year 1938 stands out for implementing the Decree. 7, March 14, 1938, which regulated that institution, according to Reforma and Francisco Campos in 1943, marks the beginning of the inclusion of new courses, merger and extinction of new chairs. As specific objectives, the survey also aimed to: analyze the local and national education legislation in order to understand the process of implementation of reform within the Francisco Campos Atheneu Sergipense; present the faculty of the institution, explain the selection process for access the chair, the profiles of teachers of mathematics and to investigate the process of unifying the branches of mathematics, the presence of Mathematics in Elementary and Complementary courses, and discuss the performance of students in that discipline. The sources were Laws, Decrees, Regulations Institutional Official Gazette Newspapers, Minute Book, Logs, Newsletters, Book of tuition, books and theses Points contests. Thus, this dissertation used the category as a main course, through studies Chervel (1990). Other concepts have also provided valuable support as school culture, based on conceptions of Julia (2001) and Forquin (1993); field, capital (cultural, social and symbolic), according to Bourdieu (2008, 2005, 2004 and 1996) and intellectual as Sirinelli (1998). For this purpose, divided into three chapters. The first chapter dealt with the secondary school, their aims, their characteristics and performance for the second Mathematics Reform Francisco Campos, but also its implementation within the Atheneu Sergipense. The second chapter presented the faculty of the institution in its various classifications and responsibilities through analysis of local legislation in order to confirm the existence and relevance of the dictates of the Reformation Francisco Campos. Unfolded the selection process for admission to the chair of that institution, by reporting the first contest of the Chair of Mathematics and sketched the profile of mathematics teachers, disseminating their training courses provided in other positions and occupations. The third chapter delineated the configuration of the discipline and explained his presence in elementary and Complementary cycles through the courses taught, the textbooks adopted in the Basic Course and the performance of mathematics teaching in two courses As a result, conclude that learning mathematics were present over the years studied, in their different purposes and taught by a faculty legitimized. The programs in mathematics, conceived through the parts documentary, show significant changes in their subjects, but similar to the Pedro II College. Also I learned that the ideas circulated by Francisco Campos Reform Atheneu Sergipense were inserted in the inclusion of complementary courses in 1936, and subsequently regulated under the State Act, 1938. Since the mathematical lessons, even if belatedly, they followed the innovations proposed by the movement installed, responsible for training and discipline methodisation school mathematics. Thus, the work contributes mainly in research on the history of mathematics teaching in Atheneu Sergipense, little studied, but observations by some descriptive and analytical elements of the course allowed the construction of teaching math and instigate other researchers in Studies on History of Mathematics Education in Sergipe.

We have analyzed a few changes occurred in the secondary school in North America between 1890 and 1930, and also how Professor Euclides Roxo used that initiative as he presented his proposal for a change in the curriculum of the D. Pedro II Secondary School, creating the subject of Mathematics. We finally make a comparative analyzes of the proposals on the teaching of Mathematics both in Brazil and in the USA. In our conclusion, we justify the lack of success of both proposals, in two different contexts, whose purpose was to merge the different branches of Mathematic for teaching / O trabalho estuda a experiência norte-americana de fusão da Aritmética, Álgebra e Geometria e sua influência na Educação Matemática Brasileira.

Based on the ideas of academics such as André Chervel and Roger Chartier, among others, the study intends to answer the following question: How Brazilian school books, which have been written after the Francisco Campos Reform, organized and stabilized the Mathematics as a subject, which was created from the fusion of Arithmetic, Algebra, and Geometry. The answer to such a question points towards the appropriation of the official text, which reveals to us incorporations of the project of globally restructuring the teaching of Mathematics from the heuristic method / Esta pesquisa analisa como se desenvolveu a disciplina escolar Matemática nos primeiros anos de sua criação, a partir da chamada Reforma Francisco Campos, de 1931.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Ricardo Soares de Meneses.pdf: 6791892 bytes, checksum: 0af2d62854a410cb7ba6202b630a3dd3 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2007-05-24 / The purpose of this research is to carry out a historical study of the Geometry in the Brazil. The source of this study is mainly based on didactic books. The research is based on concepts and reflections from the cultural history. These concepts and reflections are specifically from the history of school disciplines. The present research considers the importance of authors like André Chervel, Roger Chartier and Circe Bittencourt. How would have been the way of teaching Geometry, according to the didactic books, since it became an important knowledge to the secondary school level? The results of the study indicate two essential different phases of the Geometry teaching in Brazil: The first phase refers to the period where the Geometry has become an autonomous discipline in the secondary school level, due to meet the requirement of including the Geometry concepts in the admission exams for universities The second phase refers to the period where the Geometry has become part of a regular school discipline named Mathematics. This process was started by the Francisco Campos Reform / Esta pesquisa realiza um estudo histórico sobre o ensino de geometria no Brasil.

Gomes, Rodrigo Belfort 09 February 2015 (has links)
The direct method for English teaching as a foreign language, as well as for other foreign languages, was introduced in Brazil through the reform carried out by minister Francisco Campos, in 1931, so that, from that date on, all students should learn by this methodology. However, it is important to note that the directions contained in legislation does not necessarily mean the law will be executed, since many actors are involved in this process, such as published textbooks, the methodological foundations that guided their authorship, the methodology used by the teacher, and the guidance of the school principals, who manage the academic norms of each institution. Given the above, this study aims to investigate the relationship between the introduction of the direct method, by the Francisco Campos reform, and the production of English language teaching textbooks in Brazil from 1931 to 1961, as well as analyzing three textbooks according to the concepts that rule the direct method and certify whether its fundaments were accomplished or not. Thus, this research consisted of three stages, namely: the first, a literature review on the theoretical basis of the direct method and the influences of modern authors; the second, the research on the Brazilian educational legislation of the set period; culminating in the third moment, when a list of the English language textbooks published within the time frame of this work was made. These books can be found both in the National Library, as well as in Pedro II School, an important institution for the history of education in Brazil. Three of these materials were selected to be analyzed and have their contents contrasted with the principles of the direct method.
